Im working with customer support on this Iām just impressed how they can launch something so terrible. After figuring out WiFi issues (is a nightmare), I was able to connect the camera once. The image is not the quality you would expect. Eufy has far better image. Then I realized that as I put my WiFi back on multi channel (I had to manually split the 2.4 and 5 ghz channel to be able to connect the cam) the name of the WiFi would change. So I had to connect the camera again. I was never able to do it. After 1h troubleshooting on chat they said they may need to replace it. I read that this may happen frequently when camera disconnect. You canāt hold the baby with the sock on because it trigger an alarm (very loud) from the base that you canāt chose not to have (it does tell you in the app you should not have the sock on during feeds and while you hold the baby). Overall the sock seems to work fine, but due to lack of notification customizations (there are none), an bad app and the garbage camera I would not recommend this at all.

Being an ER Nurse I see a lot of sick kiddos. Having my first baby two months ago this was always a must have. I didnāt sleep for like four days it felt like after delivering. When I remembered we had the sock so many things changed. I waited so long to open it because the packaging / box is so pretty and sleek and bought it months before I was due. I love the peace of mind that comes with the sock. The sock is very easy to sneak on babyās foot especially after they already have fallen to sleep. The camera we carry around like a dog on a leash during the day as bean has many different nap spots. I especially love that the camera tells the temperature of the room! Overall the camera and dream sock are great. The camera has great video and audio quality, and the sock gives me peace of mind when my little one is asleep, and as he starts to sleep longer through the nights. I love that the camera also shows the room temp and humidity, and the sock has not irritated my sons skin, however he isnāt the biggest fan of it if he can feel it against his other leg, but thatās no biggie.HOWEVER, I do have some complaints, and do not think I would recommend this device because of these issues. We did make sure to use the correct wifi. My second complaint I have is there is no separate monitor, nor can I find one that is compatible. Yes, this is our fault for not checking this before purchasing, however in the excitement of pregnancy, and being first time parents we didnāt think about this. It is really only an issue if our phones are struggling to connect, or if we have someone watching our son. While these issues may not be huge, they are enough that I would steer someone in a different direction.

We had a preemie with apnea so we came home quite traumatized by the fear he could stop breathing (even though the doctor explained our LO out grew the apnea). Having the owlet sock is the only reason my husband and I were able to get any sleep. Our LO is now 4 months and I would still recommend this sock to anyone with PPA or anxiety in general. The sock base being green lets me know our LO is being monitored and we have had no false alarms. My anxiety appreciates that we are alerted (with a different tone alarm) if the sock has shifted and needs adjusting, which does not occur a lot.The camera on the other hand I feel could be better. Over all we would buy the sock again.
I purchased the Owlet Duo last year November ā23 off Amazon and set it up when my son was born in March ā24. I had some issues trying to get the sock set up on the Owlet Care app but switched to the Owlet Dream app and everything worked. (Based in South Africa so I had to switch the location of my app store temporarily to download the app.)I could not be happier with my purchase. The Cam 2 looks nice, image quality is great as long as the Cam has good WiFi signal. The Cam shows your room temperature & humidity which is a nice to have to ensure your child is in a comfortable environment. You can do background audio as well as talk through the camera. The Cam shows your room temperature & humidity which is a nice to have to ensure your child is in a comfortable environment. You can do background audio as well as talk through the camera. I wouldn't say itās absolutely the best camera on the market, but once it is paired with the sock, its unbeatable. The Owlet Sock has definitely been the device which has provided us with the most peace of mind. The sock shows heart rate & blood oxygen and seems to be very accurate. You can always have peace of mind knowing that if there is a medical emergency, you will be notified. When our child is sleeping we can have the camera on with room temp, humidity, heart rate & blood oxygen levels all visible on one screen. There are a few things we've learnt from using the Owlet Sock over the last 8 months, you can monitor his heart rate and can see when he is falling asleep and when he has gone down properly, which massively reduced the number of times we had to go check on him. From what we've seen, 140-200bpm is normal for him being awake, 120-140bpm is his heart rate during light sleep and finally, 90-120bpm is his deep sleep. When he stirs, we look at his heart rate, not the camera, to determine if he is awake and we've had great success with it! It will also let us know when he is asleep, and we can leave the room and seems to reduce false starts with sleep. The other major benefit is when our child sleeps on his stomach or face down, we just monitor his heart rate & blood oxygen and can ensure he can breathe easily without having to disturb him by going into his room. I have never had a false notification on the sock and only get notifications if I have put the sock on a bit loose or skew, or if he wakes up and fusses for a bit. Battery is good, normally get 12-16 hours on a full charge, we have never completely run out of battery on the sock sensor.A few weeks ago, the sock sensor stopped working and we contacted Owlet Support. The service received was fantastic and, in a week, we had a new sock sensor shipped to us, free of charge, covered under warranty. Could not be happier with the product and the service received from Owlet. It was only during that week that we realized how reliant we were on the Owlet Sock and how much peace of mind we had gotten from it. I would recommend this to any parent who stresses about their child when they sleep or anyone who likes data. Vitals & sleep quality is tracked and may be reviewed. Will continue using it and will purchase another one for our next child. Definitely a must have in my opinion!
It works kind of fine. The idea itself is great. Given the high price though I would expect perfection, and it is still note there.- the bluetooth range sock-base is still too short. In theory it would be plenty, in practice only works in the same room- app is too slow to load (android). every time I open it even if it was not close, just went to home, it needs to reload everything and takes a lot. Cache it- the camera works fine and we like it, but resolution and image definition is too low.- the camera would need a clip to place it to the border of the baby crib- the sock is great. Needs better notification customization both on phone and base. When notification arrives, I must be able to turn it off both on the base and phone at the same time. Like this it breaks my ears.- We have not idea how to turn off the sock. There should be an easy way.We would recommend but price very high. Please improve it to justify it
I have the duo (camera and sock). We havenāt been able to get the camera to pair/work at all, so that is super frustrating. It doesnāt pick up the QR code at all. Super disappointing. The sock was also super difficult to connect to WiFi initially, but not as tricky as the camera. The sock is great overall, but sometimes the alarm goes off to check the sock connection, even though my daughter is asleep and isnāt moving. Also, the app is pretty clunky. When you open it to look at the heart rate and ox levels, it takes 20-30 seconds to load, which is super annoying. Also, the base station and the baby/sock have to be close together, but the base station is what alarms when there is an issue. So if youāre in a different room, you may not hear an alarm. My baby just reached 4 months and Iāve had two serious issues with the sock. These issues involved disconnecting from monitoring without alerting me through the base or app, which makes me feel like the sock is creating false a feeling of safety, instead of providing the monitoring overnight that would give me peace of mind.First issue was a missing firmware update that caused the lapsed monitoring without warning. Customer service helped with a full reboot and things seemed to work after but I was in no way reassured that it wouldnāt happen again.Second issue was with the battery suddenly dying after 3-4 hours of use despite reading 16 hrs at the start of the night. This meant around 2/3 in the morning either an alarm would go off or, in one case, it seemed that monitoring stopped and alert only went off when app was proactively checked. Customer service was less helpful here, admitting that something was wrong with the sensor but telling me it was back ordered and I would have to wait weeks for a replacement part. I only received the part sooner after threatening to go to the media (product was available for new purchase so I was not impressed with the timeline). Customer rep was difficult to deal with, copying and pasting the exact same email and then making a backhanded dig.We purchased for the sock but bundled up with the camera because why not. As others have said itās not great. Main drawbacks: 1) it disconnects randomly, 2) if you change to a different app on your phone the sound stops working so for example looking at a recipe means the monitoring turns off, 3) it connects through wifi so doesnāt work in hotels where there is a password required. Our basic radio-style monitor is much more reliable and easier to use. That said I like the motion/cry alerts on my phone and temperature reading feeding into the app is nice.I gave a 2 instead of a 1 because itās better than nothing but Iām not sure Iād spend the money again given I donāt trust it will monitor 100% of the time Iām asleep overnight and that was the whole reason I purchased the sock.
As new parents to be, the owlet sock was on our list. Then we saw they had a baby monitor duo and thought it would be perfect. Even though itās VERY expensive, we decided to splurge and buy this for peace of mind. After 3 months of use, Itās our biggest baby purchase regret.- We didnāt realize you need to have the app open on your phone at ALL times to hear baby through the monitor. If you click off the App to answer a text message, you cannot hear your baby. This means you cannot use your phone for anything else while trying to listen for your baby.- We have great wifi and the video still lags. If you click off the App to answer a text message, you cannot hear your baby. This means you cannot use your phone for anything else while trying to listen for your baby.- We have great wifi and the video still lags. Thereās been a few sleepy startles where you get up to attend to your baby and then go back and look at your phone and see yourself on the video because itās always seconds behind real time.- The final straw with the camera was one night we noticed the red light on the camera was on (indicating someone was watching the live feed) and neither my husband nor I had the apps open. We are unsure if it was a glitch in the camera but that was enough to freak us out, unplug the camera and remove it from our accounts. We will never recommend the owlet camera to anyone, nor will we ever use a wifi baby monitor again. We are now spending MORE money on buying a non-wifi baby monitor.- As for the sock, we arenāt overly impressed that itās not widely made known that Canada has a different App than the US. The sock is now being marketed as a sleep assistant, rather than a heart rate monitor (which is the entire reason we wanted the owlet to begin with). After exhaustive research on the owlet website we are still not completely sure if the device will alarm if our babies stats dropped suddenly. Itās never gone off to tell us that, only to indicate the sock has āplacement issuesā- the sock cannot be far from the base station when in use. We donāt live in a mansion by any means but if we had it on our baby on the main floor and the base station was upstairs in our room it would sound an alarm saying it lost connection. We are unsure how the sock will do when we are no longer room sharing and it might become totally useless at that point.- If your baby is petite, it will be a challenge to get the sock on and stay on properly. We eventually read a tip on the internet to put a baby sock over top of the owlet sock to help keep it on better. That resulted in fewer alarms telling us the sock isnāt on correctly while our baby slept. In conclusion - we DO NOT recommend the camera. As for the sock, we are kind of neutral at this point about it. If we have another baby we will likely look for a different heart rate monitor as we are just so disappointed with Owlet.
This is probably the worst tech product you have ever considered purchasing. The app tells you that you canāt use it for health notification till 1 month. So if you register for it and itās purchased before baby arrives there is no return period. The support is a mix of documentation for all of their impossible to decipher product names. The app tells you that you canāt use it for health notification till 1 month. So if you register for it and itās purchased before baby arrives there is no return period. The support is a mix of documentation for all of their impossible to decipher product names. A lot of the features will not apply to your particular model. The worst āfeatureā in my opinion is the glowing on and off green light that you canāt turn off that will light your whole bedroom ceiling, unless you cover the base, which will then disconnect because it has a cheap Wi-Fi/bluetooth antenna. The next worst āfeatureā on the list is that when your baby starts fussing in the night youāll have your hands full and have to put up with the nasty sounding beeps from the base unit thatāll wake up your whole house. Think smoke alarm with low battery but louder and playing an annoying song for some unknown reason. And once youāve calmed your baby youāll then have to decipher why the base is still not happy and itāll probably wake your baby all over again. The last and final āfeatureā I will rant about after being kept awake all night is this companies āsupportā. Youāll reach out in your hour of need to get useless responses from an āAIā from the late 1980s that will asks pointless questions till you get a person thatās only response is āyouāre past your return window, here, Iāll paste a response from our website that says the same thingā. And, āyou canāt turn off the audio notifications for your product, you could on our old product. We donāt sell that 1 any more.āHonestly Iāll buy any shiny new tech product going. This though, is absolutely garbage.
