This hat works. Those that say it doesn’t , have to realize your head is going to get sweaty wearing a rain hat. It’s waterproof but your complaining about a wet head. It’s your head not being able to breathe. Lolol. Not that hard to figure but I’m some cases some don’t know better

I wore this stylish hat for 22 days backpacking in the Sierra Nevadas last summer. With the varying weather - sun, rain, etc. this hat was my go-to. I felt so stylish in it also. I got so many compliments.

I work outside and am in/out of vehicles every few minutes so using a rain coat with a hood was not ideal. I bought this hat from a local store and was excited to use it, especially since I sweat a lot and get rather warm while working. This hat was great during a light rain the first night. The next night I used it in a hard rain it became stretched out and flimsy plus it just lost all abilities to be water proof. I have a bald head so cold rain on my head doesn't feel the greatest. Save your money and get a more durable hat.

Great lightweight rain hat. Folds up easily into my pack.Hat is not adjustable, but I have a bigger head (60cm) and it fits me fine.Haven't tried it in torrential rain yet, but works great in light rain and showers.
The hat fits to size, and did keep me dry the one time that I’ve used it. I’d anticipated a somewhat more substantial material, though. This is like a super light rain shell - lovely in warmer climes up sure but not so great in the Pacific Northwest.
I probably should have read the reviews more closely before purchasing this hat. I have previously purchased an OR rain hat (Ghost hat) that I really liked, and because of this looked to OR for my next rain hat. Unfortunately the Ghost has been discontinued, and the Seattle Rain Hat has a felt interior that seemed problematic. I received this hat and was somewhat disappointed with the lack of "substance". The material is so thin that I can't imagine it managing any level of wind, and while I haven't tried it in a rain storm, I have put it under a tap to see if it would be something I could trust in a storm. It is not.I hope to be able to salvage something out of this hat, and will probably leave it in the car as a backup sun hat, but unfortunately I will not be ... MoreI probably should have read the reviews more closely before purchasing this hat. Backcountry, as usual, provided excellent delivery. I love this company!
Simple, solid hat, good quality construction. Purchased as a lightweight rain hat for an upcoming hiking trip. Unfortunately the S/M ran too small for me with no way to adjust the size. I'm a size 7 (22") in hats, which is usually a small/medium. The brim is flexible and presents a little wavier than shown in the picture. The hat folds down easily to pack. I'm only giving it a 4/5 for the inability to adjust the size.
This hat is amazing for all day sun and rain protection. It's made out of waterproof goretex, garunteed to keep you dry. The sides easily fold up when protection isn't needed and the entire hat rolls up easily for quick stowing. One downside is that the material is too heavy for mid summer use, great for the shoulder seasons though. Highly recommended!
I love the wider brim on this hat, I also have an Outdoor Research Interstellar Rain Bucket but the brim is too small causing the rain to drip off onto whatever I'm wearing. My head measures just over 7&1/2 and the L/XL is a perfect fit. I chose the Pewter but I do wish they would come out with some different color choices like the Seattle Sombrero line. All in all a great lightweight hat that is easily packable and extremely waterproof.
The hat seems to fit well as I do have a relatively large head. It blocks sun well. Given I live in Florida, I have not been able to test in the rain yet. I read conflicting reviews on how waterproof it is. I plan to use for long hime in Portugal later this month. If I encounter torrential downpours, I will also have a waterproof hood to wear over top. I think the color I purchased is fine for what I need.
