Osprey Transporter Wheeled Duffel Bag Venturi Blue
A super rugged and functional option for carry-on use, the Osprey Transporter Wheeled Duffel 40 utilizes incredibly durable construction and incorporates smart, streamlined storage features. Perhaps best of all, it does do with sustainable fabrication that repurposes plastic water bottles that would otherwise go to waste. Ensuring strength and long-lived durability, the duffel employs a 14" wide tubular aluminum chassis and bluesign-approved 900D and 600D recycled polyester. The fabric has a PFC-Free DWR TPU coating that makes it extremely weather-resistant. Integrated 90mm sealed-bearing wheels roll easily regardless of the surface and hold up well to extended use. An extendible handle makes it easy to operate the duffel and an injection-molded "foot" increases durability and allows the duffel to stand upright. Padded grab handles on either end of the duffel make it easy to retrieve from the trunk of a car or an overhead storage bin. The 2400+ cubic inch main compartment has a U-shaped zippered opening and overlapping rain flap protection. A large pocket on one end keeps essentials and smaller items in easy reach. Internally, there is a large, zippered mesh pocket and internal compression straps to keep all contents securely in place. Multiple attachment points allow you to lash gear externally. The Osprey Transporter Wheeled Duffel 40 is available in your choice of color options. Its 21.5" x 14" x 9" dimensions make it approved for most flights. Always remember to check with your flight provider to confirm.

My first impressions of this bag were very good. It doesn't have a lot of pockets but I liked that this allowed me to have maximum flexibility with what I put inside. After one trip (3 flights total) from Seattle to Florida and back, the bag looks pretty beat up. The fabric has some kind of plastic or rubberized coating on it and that coating seems to get easily scraped or burned when handled by airport baggage systems. This has not given me a lot of confidence in the bag long term. What's more concerning is that I contacted Osprey about this after my trip and never heard anything back. I didn't feel it was necessary to submit a warranty claim because the pack is still functional but I did email the customer service department voicing concerns and sharing photos of ... MoreMy first impressions of this bag were very good. This was my first osprey purchase, it was the most expensive bag I've ever purchased and it has left me feeling like I unfortunately should just stick with cheaper bags from now on.

I love this bag. It is spacious, and light weight. Bought to replace n aging Eddie Bauer bag that is closer to 60 l and sometimes it just wouldn’t fit quite everything. Should be able to get everything in this with room to spare. The material is rigged looking, and love the waterproof/ resistant zipper covers. Love the hard bottom, which allows it to stand alone ( other bag kept tipping). It does mean the bag is not quite as collapsible as my old favorite - one end is rigid, even if only 2/3 full, but overall, prefer the stability. While it holds a lot it doesn’t look huge - and the wheels are super smooth.Got this at the recent sale - as the price tag is a bit high off sale, but would love a slightly smaller version as well - 60 ( bigger than the available 40- ... MoreI love this bag. We also disagree with the earlier reviewers. This is the strongest bag we have had. It's gone on many travels - including the rough and tough of artic travels, ice, grit, wet etc. It has held up brilliantly. Dont even think it "marks" too badly either - a bit scuffed but seriously not bad at all.

So glad I grabbed this bag. I initially bought a suitcase for another extended trip that I did. The wheel broke off so I figured I should probably grab something more durable. Haven’t had issues with a transporter 40 bag I have that I’ve checked numerous times so I figured I would give this a go. So far, so good. Used it for a month, constantly opening it and moving it between hotels, and checking it on multiple flights and buses. Pretty much living out of it. Only thing that I can say that I don’t like about it is that the fabric doesn’t seem as durable as my old transporter. It feels thinner and seems to get marred more easily. Still happy with it though. I can say that I highly recommend this bag if you’re looking for something durable, easily accessible, and ... MoreSo glad I grabbed this bag. I bought this about a month ago, and took it to the mountains of NC for a hiking trip. I love that it is waterproof, rolls easily, is spacious for the look of it and can fit in an overhead bin on a plane. The one negative is the handle, you have to pay attention when you retract it, the first time it gave me a wicked blood blister. But it only happened once. I love Osprey, they make quality products. I got this to replace my 3 year old Granite Gear carry on bag as it was falling apart. I'm tough on bags, I travel 300 days a year for work, they are thrown around in planes and trucks. I wants a bag that has sturdy wheels, good solid fabric that would hold up to the elements and travel. So far I am loving the bag. I hope it lasts for more than 3 years.
We have a North Face Rolling Thunder (30") and were looking for a second one for an upcoming trip. This Osprey Wheeled Duffel came up for sale and reviews on this bag looked really good (maybe slightly better than the rolling thunder?) so we went for it. Haven't had it long enough to do a true comparison yet. However here are some of the differences I see so far which give an edge to the Osprey. The large zipper is covered with a flap which would prevent any water leakage issues if it gets wet. The large flap also has clips to keep it in place. The biggest difference for me is that the North Face has this internal stabilizing rod that keeps popping out of place on one side of the bag we have. Not a deal breaker but irritating and it's scratching up the inside of the ... MoreWe have a North Face Rolling Thunder (30") and were looking for a second one for an upcoming trip. The biggest difference for me is that the North Face has this internal stabilizing rod that keeps popping out of place on one side of the bag we have. Not a deal breaker but irritating and it's scratching up the inside of the bag / doing some minor internal damage. The Osprey does not have this and any structural stuff seems to be integrated. That is a plus for me. Time will tell which ends up being the better model overall.
Bought this for a trip to europe in a couple months. I would like to take my RTIC duffle but needed something with wheels. The construction of this duffle is decent - the seams are sown, not welded and the material seems much less durable than the RTIC. That might be because osprey is using recycled materials. Great in theory but will it last? My 10 year old RTICs have survived blizzards, rain, dust, sand and haboobs in the back of my truck, while keeping everything clean and dry inside. we'll see how this does. At least it has a good warranty.
I'm so impressed with my 90L Transporter I'm about to buy another one. The big wheels make a huge difference when you're dragging it over rough ground. We did a trip through the Australian Outback with it strapped to the top of a trailer through bull dust...not a problem, everything inside was dust free! It has also been exposed to snow and rain without any problems. The finish does take on that patina of use without affecting the performance which I don't mind.
I bought one of these 4.5 years ago, as like previous reviewers I needed a durable travel bag (I'm a professional mountain guide, so my kit gets used all over the world, year round and takes a massive beating). After approx 40 trips it's still going strong - yes, it's covered in scuffs (the fabric does mark easily), but there are no abrasion holes on any of the corners/exposed areas and it's stood up to a huge amount of abuse - being dragged through the snow, strapped onto pack animals and it fell off the roof of a moving vehicle at one point, but protected my kit. In summary - yes the fabric marks easily, so if that bothers you then look elsewhere - but in terms of actual durability, this is the best wheeled travel bag I've ever owned by a country mile.
As an outdoor travel professional I'm traveling 300+ days a year all over the world. In and out of airports, on busses and boats.I need luggage that is versatile and durable. I thought this was the luggage I've been waiting for. I must have searched for a month straight. This just isn't durable at all. One trip through the airport baggage system the bag looks like its 3 years old. The Black/Grey model shows even the slightest scratch or scuff. I was so disappointed after spending so much on this bag and it being totally scuffed up after 1 trip. I have called the company directly but they offered no help and would not accept any returns because they said, since I used it once they cannot accept it. Don't get me wrong I love osprey products I have a lot of them and ... MoreAs an outdoor travel professional I'm traveling 300+ days a year all over the world.
