This ortofon skratch cartridge is great. Pretty easy to use and install which my be my favorite part. There’s no need to wire anything up or adjust head shell etc. Just plug in and twist for lost turntables and you’re all set. Great output on these as well. Would definitely purchase these again.

Fantastic pick up element

I ordered the pick-up element to install in my 'new' Technics SL1200Mk5.Since i really love the sleek look of the element and hate the elements using a headshell (at least the look of them) i loved this one.Once installed i put on my first record in about 20 years and immediately heard the difference in music between the 'modern' streaming techniques and the warmth and soul of vinyl.What this Ortofoon did with my old records was simply amazing. I used to have a Dual record player but now finally wanted something even better and i really found it.Although i'm not using this in a profesional environment i really can tell everyone who wants to hear how good this element is.

This is the first time ive ever used these needles and I absolutely love them. I have used Sure M77 for years and believe I found a much better needle to spin with!

Pretty good overall if you give them a long break in

Pretty decent, high output carts. They do seem to need a long break in period and struggle early on with pretty extreme side to side wobble around the cantilever, especially with new vinyl, which is made worse if you use higher tracking weight.Not quite as good as the Ortofon VNL sonically or in terms of tracking ability but easier to set up. Nowhere near as good as Shure M44-7 or M44-G but sadly those days are gone.

Solid Cartridge

Overall:Bought these to compare against the digital model. Coming from the Shure M-447s, I have to say that these produce a sound closer to the Shure than the digital model. If using DVS, the dust seems to affect these more than the digital model which are designed for use with DVS. Kudos to Ortofon.

The MK II

I have 2 of them in total for both my turntables, only remark I can give is that a bend turntable arm gives the MK II even more quality in it's excellent craftsmanship.My second turntable the Stanton T.62 M2 has a straight turntable arm which makes it just a little bit more out of my control to handle it perfectly, but that is just detail of the turntable itself offcourse.
