Blade is sharp; folding design is so simple and nice. The size is perfect for a pocket knife and they come in so many colour options (I got the raspberry one which is like a hot magenta). Opinel may not be the most heavy duty but the simplicity is refreshing and there's something nice about a basic pocket knife.

I collect knives from time to time and always passed on Opinel knives, thought they looked cheap and their affordable price did not help me think otherwise. Finally decided that since they've been around for over 100 years, they must be doing something right. So I got a No. 6 with the olivewood handle. The wood is beautiful, fit and finish overall is very solid! The lock is simple and does the job perfectly, feels nice and secure once engaged. Nothing loose anywhere. And the edge itself was very sharp out of the box! Puts others knifes several times it's price to shame. Will most definitively be buying another Opinel in the future :)
Beautiful and practical knife if you just need something for pocket knife “duties”. Love the sharpness right out of the box and the simplicity of the blade lock, nothing fancy, it just works. Just an excellent, all around pocket knife, highly recommend it
Took it out camping and the knife has held its edge. The walnut handle looks great. It lock is simple and the knife fits well in a pocket. I just find when it's folded that there is a sharp corner.
A nice looking, classy and simple pocket knife. The only complaint is that it was barely sharp out of the box, so if you don’t have a sharpening system at home this might not be a good choice for you.The other thing to be aware of is that is listed as being Bubinga and I received a padouk-handled knife instead. It still looks great, so it’s not a big deal to me, but it’s something to keep in mind when you’re ordering.
I'm very happy with the purchase of the whittling knife that I bought my partner for Xmas.I have been told its very fit for purpose and is a great knife.Was great being able to get it engraved and came in a nice pouch. I'd definitely recommend it.
A great little pocket knife. Very sturdy and well built.I have used it for everything from cutting apples to opening bags of garden soil and it stays sharp and stands up to the abuse.
This sweet special edition Opinel is a keeper! It's the perfect size for a purse or waist pouch, and I'm not sure why I waited this long to add an Opinel to my kit. Classic French design with a beautiful tradition of blacksmithing in the family, you won't regret owning this lovely classic.
