I'm new at mushroom hunting, but I'm impressed with the knife. It handled enormous dryad's saddles as well as little elm's caps with ease. I would have given it a 4 star rating if it hadn't been for the brush. It worked for a while, but eventually a clump of bristles fell out. Aside from that, it's fantastic!

I would have given it a 4 star rating if it hadn't been for the brush. It worked for a while, but eventually a clump of bristles fell out. Aside from that, it's fantastic!

This knife is quite light, and it just has a unique style. The bristles on the knife's brush end are robust, but soft enough that they won't harm delicate mushrooms. The locking ring takes some effort to twist, but it can still be done with one hand if necessary.
There are many reviews out there and they all say the same thing. Very sharp and great value. If you need a knife that does the job holds its sharpness and won't break the bank if you lose it. This is your knife. And I love the beechwood handle. I use mine to cut my oranges at work and so far it is handling the citrus well. I purposefully chose the stainless steel rather than carbon for convenience.
I bought this knife for my daughter, who is a devoted forager. However, before I had the chance to mail it to her on Vancouver Island, a friend of mine spotted it on my counter and just HAD to try it. He was immediately hooked on this beautiful knife.
