Better kibble food than most present at pet stores imho

I prefer open farm to most of the kibble food present on the shelves of pet stores. I googled all of the ingredients and found them to be safe for kitties. I’m just overall not a fan of kibbles that’s why I’m giving 4 stars. I would recommend using kibble in small amounts on top of wet food, blend it in to add some crunch. If you’re giving your cats wet food mostly just make sure you watch their gums and teeth. Brushing is a good idea.

Phew! Everyone knows how draining it is to switch foods and find something they love. My senior cats have eaten I And Love And You Surf and Chick for years. They loved that stuff, especially how fishy it smelled. Then suddenly last year, without warning, the bag look changed and there was absolutely no smell to it. They wouldn’t touch it. I think it’s real ****** for companies to do this to their customers without any type of notice. Any way, I was fortunate enough to find this company who had a whitefish dry food as I suspected that was what my cats loved. It was a match! It’s much more expensive but I am getting what I pay for, that’s for sure. The cats literally fight each other to get the first scoop of the day. My cats have gotten extremely fussy about their wet food so I decided to switch them to mostly dry food but I didn't want to get cheap, poor quality dry food for them. I did some research online and came upon Open Farm. Their philosophy and practices really resonated with me so I wanted to give them a try. I have a long background working in a natural food store so I am more attuned to eating the simplest, most natural, humanely treated animal and other products for myself. If I can get pretty much human grade food for my kitten babies, then I'm delighted. And they do eat it all up. I got three flavors to give them some variety, Whitefish, Salmon and Turkey & Chicken. Very quick shipping. Very happy ordering from Open Farm. Kudos to you, Open Farm!!!! I appreciate the transparency too.

Highly recommend for cats with allergies
27 November 2022

I have two boys who have extensive allergies. I've spent a year trying to find a food they can both eat that will meet their needs without giving them an allergic reaction. This food has done wonders for them. Their tummy troubles are improving so fast and I can tell they are feeling great eating this formula. I'm very glad I found open farm and will continue feeding this to my boys for a long time. Thank you for having pea and poultry free formulas when so many others have fallen short. Quality ingredients, good customer service, and good delivery times. I'll be highly recommending this brand to my pet owning friends and relatives. Thank you open farm for giving my boys a tasty kibble they can thrive on allergen free!

I have a cat who
9 September 2022

I have a cat who is allergic to EVERYTHING, including chicken and salmon. So when I started looking for food that he could eat, I was super disappointed to learn that most cat foods still have chicken or salmon in them even when claiming they’re a different protein. Open Farm’s openness with their ingredients and their variety of options let’s me feel confident in what my guy is eating and helps us avoid his trigger foods. His allergies thank me for it! Definitely going to switch to feeding my other cat Open Farm once his current dry food runs out as well.

Picky Cat is Loving It
24 May 2022

I thought transitioning my cat to a new food would be a pain, but he actually started refusing to eat his old food after about a week of slowly feeding him more of this mixed in the bowl. Safe to say he loves it! He’s tried the chicken/turkey and whitefish now and I haven’t heard any complaints. It seems like he’s leaned out some since starting this food, and seems a bit more active than he did before. All good things for my chonky dude :) very excited to have found a sustainability-oriented cat food that my guy and I can agree on

I was hopeful when I tried this product. I was confident it would be ok having to purchase full order since no "trial" sized options are offered. My cats notoriously eat pretty much anything (wet/dry), as long as it's not chicken. Man was I disappointed when they wouldn't touch the dry. Very weird for my cats. The wet, although I'm sure is very healthy and a great food, comes in these awesome little ethically sourced, cardboard boxes. The only issue? Pretty nasty stuff (puree'd fish, basically), and difficult to serve without getting it all over your hands, and I had to place it in a plastic bag to refrigerate, or the whole fridge would smell like fish. I didn't have a glass container (with lid), tall enough to store it upright and definitely didn't want it ... MoreI was hopeful when I tried this product. I'm a little weird about my cats and would have worked around this. IF they had liked it. But no go.I think this is most likely a wonderful company doing great things with pet food. I work at a Feline exclusive Veterinary so have a little experience with cat stuff. For some reason all three of my cats turned it down. I'm out almost $100.00 and ordered my original food today...I would have been seriously impressed if a trial were offered.

Their Mew Favorite!

2/4 of my babies are consistently picky eaters and the other 2 go in cycles with pickiness too. My 3 kitten have been especially hard to wean off their little kitty food as they’ve passed the 1 year mark. After throwing $$$ in a few different directions, with little-to-no-success, I came across Open Farm. The reviews piqued my interest. So, I ordered a few things to see how it went. Turns out, the secret ingredient in Open Farm food must be miracles, some kind of cat crack, or maybe just legit quality ingredients. My cats barely even needed much of a transition and period. They were all in on the Catch of the Season dry food, as well as the other foods & bone broths. Open Farm isn’t the cheapest around but, compared to how much $$$ I wasted buying & trying things ... More2/4 of my babies are consistently picky eaters and the other 2 go in cycles with pickiness too. Well worth the price
29 April 2022

My cat's mood completely changed 2 days into feeding this product to him. Before then, he was often moody and grumpy. He also only consume 50% less compared to another quality kibble brand we used to feed him with. His poo looks great and doesn't smell. He often threw up his kibble but not with this product - I believe it's because of the small kibble size which is easier to swallow. This product works out to be 20-30% cheaper than if we were to give him 50% canned wet food and 50% of the other kibble brand. Now we just give him a tablespoon of wet food and this product per day and he's thoroughly satisfied.

When we adopted our first
8 July 2021

When we adopted our first cat late last year, friends and well-wishers with their own cats advised not to let the cat roam out because (among other things) cats can attack & **** wild birds. This bothered me, not so much because a domestic cat may occasionally **** a wild bird (a different topic in itself), but what about all the poor caged birds (turkeys & chickens), and other animals stuck from birth to death in the cruelty of the American factory farms. Being mindful of this, humans can turn vegan but cats (and dogs) need their meat. But doesn't that perpetuate and support the inhumanity of factory farming? How does one love one animal (their own pet) to the exclusion of all others? I was relieved to find a good answer in Open Pet Farm; one of the rare places ... MoreWhen we adopted our first cat late last year, friends and well-wishers with their own cats advised not to let the cat roam out because (among other things) cats can attack & **** wild birds. I am so grateful for Open Pet Farm's existence!
