Been wanting to get these for ages then ocado sent us some free ones to review. Taco shells for us always spilt the moment we try to fill them with anything and then it splits and you end up in a right mess (well we do anyway) however these being that bit wider are much better and don't split finally a less messy taco. One star off for being 2% salt - far too much most in the seasoning which we now just throw in the bin and use a combo of paprika, oregano and a hint of cinnamon instead.

I received this product free from Ocado to review. I would never normally choose a crunchy taco over a soft flour tortilla, however I was happy to give it a go. I expected them to be extremely weak and break in my hands while eating. This was not the case in my experience. I was able to fill them and eat them quite easily without messy hands. The garlic and paprika flavouring was tasty and I think its a great item to have in the cupboard for an easy meal. My personal preference is still soft flour tortillas though.

I received a free sample in exchange for a review. Tacos are on the weekly menu in our home and this brand is better than most. We generally buy the non-standing version. These stand up on the plate and hold more filling which is great, but they do break more easily when eating. The taco seasoning is nice and the salsa is a bit flavourless but overall I am happy and would recommend.

I was given this product free to review. It was great that the shells stood upright on their own. I thought they tasted hard and of stale cheap cooking oil, I didn't like the taste of the shells at all. The Taco flavour spice was way too mild. It wasn't really a spice. It'd probably mild enough if you're feeding it to small children, but I wouldn't - I think soft tortilla breads with salad and cheese and so on would be much better for them than this.
I was sent this by Ocado to review. My family love all of these old el paso kits and I often buy the fajita?s, burrito?s, enchiladas etc. These were a nightmare to eat. All the fillings tasted great but we could not work out how to eat them without the shells breaking and the content falling onto the plate. Halfway through the second one, we gave up and ate the content with a fork. Nice flavoured contents but I wouldn?t buy these crunchy shells again as they are just too messy. The soft shells or wraps are much better.
I was sent this product to review. Quick and easy to prepare, but very bland, unpleasant taste. Couldnt taste the paprika or garlic at all and it was mild, I expected a little bit of chilli - nothing. The salsa was very artificial and again lacking flavour. The taco shells were very crispy, but just fell apart as soon as you started eating, making for a very messy meal. Wouldnt buy again
For me I always have to pimp these things up with more cumin, chilli and a decent salsa - the one provided was donated elsewhere. Tacos were decent once warmed up and once they were filled with beef, salsa, guacamole, sour cream and cheese they were delicious. But should I have to go to this extent to bring a rather bland box of tricks to life? I guess so
This product doesn?t make a lot of sense to me. They?re basically prepackaging and assembling ingredients that would be tastier if you bought them fresh. I can imagine these ready-made prep kits being marketed before everyone had access to the Internet: perhaps if you weren?t sure how to do Mexican(-like) food and wanted to give it a go, you could get the general idea contained in this box? But now that one can easily Google and then find the tasty, shorter shelf-life versions individually, I don?t see why you would bother. Not to mention the unnecessary extra packaging.
I?m reviewing this product because I got a free sample from Ocado. Very pleased to have been given this kit to review as I have never considered buying them as I didn't think we would like them. For the review, I prepared them as instructed but added kidney beans and topped with grated cheddar cheese. The are quite mild as stated on the packet but still quite tasty. There is enough left for another meal, so I will be adding chilli to spice it up to our real taste.
I was sent this to review. It makes a very tasty quick supper dish - and gluten free too, which is an added bonus for our family. Very convenient for unexpected guests as we only had to add minced beef, onion and cheese (items that are always in the fridge/freezer) and salad leaves. I shall be buying this again to keep in reserve. Unlike other reviewers experiences, none of our taco shells were broken and the box seemed quite strong.
