Most headlamps use built in rechargeable batteries that have only " so many life cycles ". I bought this headlamp based on the fact it uses 2AA battery's . This means when the AA batteries { rechargeable } ultimately fail , you just replace the batteries , instead of throwing the whole unit away . I also like the simple switch interface , light brightness levels , and comfortable head strap .

Bought this for a friend. Very basic headlamp - mechanical switch that require half-pressing to cycle through low, medium, turbo and flashing. Kinda surprised Nitecore put in a strap across the horizontal strap since the lamp assembly is too light to merit it (only the 18650 headlamps as well as torches with a separate battery compartment will require one). Saving grace is Tactical Asia's next day delivery. I've known TA to be really quick and responsive from my early days of ordering and glad to now they've rebounded from a spate of slow delivery times in the past.
