For parents:This device is not a replacement for a PS5 or Xbox series X, if your kid is mentioning games like ââŹĹCyberpunk,â⏠ââŹĹCall of Dutyâ⏠or ââŹĹHalo,â⏠this machine will not run those games. It will run Nintendo games like Mario kart, Super Smash Bros, etc. Occasionally more popular games from Xbox and PlayStation are ported to the switch like Skyrim, but your kid wonââŹâ˘t be shooting any rogue KGB agents or Cybernetic prostitutes on this device.Things I like: although you canââŹâ˘t play a lot of the big mainstream games, I really like the titles Nintendo puts out. They are all user friendly and have a lot of positive vibes which is a nice reprieve from the junk companies stuff their games with these days. I would say the device is the perfect size for a handheld console and feels very nice in the hands.Things I donââŹâ˘t like: Cars drive themselves and yet somehow the largest video game company in the world canââŹâ˘t put a decent d-pad on their multi-billion dollar console. If I didnââŹâ˘t know better I would say itââŹâ˘s made out of play dough. The joy sticks are wiggly and have very little travel which means a lot of unintentional inputs. The screen is only 720p even though this device is identical in every way to the regular switch other than the integrated controllers. The only reason I can think of for this is to increase battery life, and because they will probably put out a ââŹĹproâ⏠version this year with better resolution and hardware. This is the primary reason I gave it 4 stars, itââŹâ˘s impressive only because they own the market and dictate what mobile consoles are capable of. It could be much better and I would gladly pay an extra $100 for 1080p and a bigger battery.Other than that itââŹâ˘s a nice device, I really like it and I really enjoy the Nintendo exclusive titles. I appreciate the bang for your buck you get from these titles and itââŹâ˘s a nice contrast to western games which.

For those who use/will use the Switch exclusively as a handheld device, I would recommend this system over the original Switch! Here are some things I've noticed in comparison to the original Switch so far:- The Switch Lite is far more comfortable to hold and and use than the original Switch thanks to its smaller size and ' lite'er (hahaha) weight. I can hold this small boi for a lot longer than the larger Switch before having to put it down to rest my hands.- All the buttons have that superior Gameboy Advance button feel, ie: they don't feel a tad too rigid and clicky like those in the larger Switch. Plus there is an actual d-pad here. The system is made of plastic and has a sort of coarse feel to it. It won't slip out of your hands too easily and feels nice to the ... MoreFor those who use/will use the Switch exclusively as a handheld device, I would recommend this system over the original Switch! Plus there is an actual d-pad here. The system is made of plastic and has a sort of coarse feel to it. It won't slip out of your hands too easily and feels nice to the touch.- Screen size is a bit smaller- 5.5 inches vs the Switch's 6.2 inches, but this ties into the greater ease of use as a handheld as mentioned before. In terms of brightness and display quality I cannot say that I see any large differences. It's possibly a bit better since it's the same 720p but in a smaller screen? Anyway it looks great just like the original (and requires a screen protector just like the original.)- The color schemes for this system are some of the best Nintendo has ever offered in my opinion. The yellow one that I got looks fantastic and I'm glad that I chose this over the turquoise and the Pokemon themed one.- Sound output is slightly lower in terms of volume than the original Switch. This is probably because the speakers are on the underside of the system as opposed to the front. This is a minor thing though, you'll still hear your games well enough.- The battery looks to be draining at a similar or slightly slower rate that the original (release day) Switch. However keep in mind that the newer shipments of the original Nintendo Switch are supposed to have a larger battery life.- You will of course be missing out on a number of features: no docking to the TV/monitor, no detacha.

Since its release, it's been an instant classic! Its design makes it sleek yet conveniently portable. This version of the Nintendo Switch focuses more on fun on-the-go, away from home. It never lacks on battery life or performance, with a slight improvement with the Lite compared to the original. The Joy-Con remotes do not detach with this, and so they are less likely to acquire drift or other defects. The price of this version is quite the discount, too, and is definitely worth every penny! The game selection for this product, of course, is the same as the original. I came across a Nintendo Switch Lite in turquoise and let me tell you, it's like holding a piece of the ocean where you play. This thing is so light that a strong wind could blow it away. This means it's super portable, right? Perfect for playing on the go, whether you're traveling or just avoiding housework. The color is beautiful, like a tropical paradise in your hand. And the built-in controls make it look like the Ferrari of handheld gaming. It's so comfortable, it's like the Switch Lite was tailor-made for my hands. Plus, he's so fast that he lost a race in Mario Kart before I even realized he'd started. Talk about a quick little device! Talk about a quick little device! The battery is long lasting, allowing me to play the game on an 8-hour plane trip and it held up even though I was actively releasing games and trying new worlds, I loved this important detail. It's a bit unfortunate that it's an all-in-one system. If something breaks, you're out of luck. Let's not dwell on the negative aspects. This is a great compact device for traveling and at home. Don't lose sight of it on a windy day. And well, according to Nintendo, Turquoise Switch Lite is the most popular color. Who wouldn't like to play in a piece of the ocean? So if you're looking for a new gaming companion, the Nintendo Switch Lite in turquoise may be the pop of color you need.
I had the worst time after ordering this item! I didnât look at the reviews because I assumed it would be shipped and sold directly from Walmart. NO! ITS NOT! THIS ITEM SALES THROUGH A THIRD PARTY. The site does not disclaim anywhere that THIS IS NOT A US VERSION of the switch lite. It is a Japanese model that comes in all Japanese and has to be converted to English. It is also refurbished. I could tell it was second hand by looking at the box. There was a crease by the opening where you could tell itâs been opened and closed several times. By the time I found this out it was too late and the item had already shipped. I sent 4 messages directly to the seller on 4 different days and received no answer from them. Now Christmas is less than a week away and I have to return the item and wait the site says up to 3 weeks for a refund. So Iâll have to take another 200 bucks out of my check to spend on another system to make sure I have my sons gift in time for Christmas until I receive my refund for this one. They are a scam. They are scamming people making us think this is a brand new system and not disclaiming that itâs a Japanese model. Make sure this is what you want before you buy.
This device is so much fun! I was looking for something portable for trips, flights, etc., and this proved to be a great investment. It lasted the whole flight from DC to Colorado, and still had half the battery-life left.I will say, something VERY important to consider, is if you are purely looking for a portable device then the Lite version is great - but for me I ran into instances where I wished I could play certain games on a big screen (TV), so I inevitably traded up the Lite for a normal Switch. It's purely preference; I do believe the Lite is more stable and durable from a "portability" standpoint. The Switch's removable joycons (remotes) do feel slightly loose, whereas the Lite they are built in so you don't have that issue. Because of this I think the ... MoreThis device is so much fun! Brought back all the old Gameboy feelings from childhood!**PSA - buy an SD card when you get this; 128G is usually fine. The software downloads for games takes up a lot of space.
First, the positive! Genuine quality (not a Japanese import), lightning fast shipping, and device itself appears to be in perfect condition. Now, for the negative. The box is wrecked. Squished and creased and damaged. I know the device condition is most important, but I'm a collector, so the box condition is important too. I'm okay with a little wear, but this box appears to have been stepped on multiple times. If you are one discards your boxes and don't care for condition, then do not be afraid to buy from this seller because the device is beautiful. The only complaint I have is the box condition, so I will need to replace it to add it to my collection. I don't mind the $35 premium of this seller, just expect a better condition item than what I received. Sadly, my local stores don't carry this edition, but a friend of mine in Florida just showed me they have them in stock at his store! So I am hoping he will agree to pick one up locally and mail it to me so I can return this one. Save a few bucks and get a non squished box. Win win. đ
I bought the Nintendo Switch Lite as a gift for my daughter, who had limited prior experience with gaming & no experience with mobile gaming devices. The device was easy to setup, easy to navigate and is light weight with great color & display graphics, as well as sound quality for the size of the controller. It holds a good charge (about 4hrs) but we've only had it for a little over a month - so we'll see how that holds up. It's great to take on long road trips and allows for the use of headphones, which gives my wife + I a break from hearing the Mario Bros. game soundtrack playing alongside whatever we are listening to.If I did have any complaint so far, it would be about the lack of a wired and/or wireless option to attach or cast the Switch Lite to a larger TV ... MoreI bought the Nintendo Switch Lite as a gift for my daughter, who had limited prior experience with gaming & no experience with mobile gaming devices. I've looked in the settings and haven't found any way to make that happen. Other than that, I would definitely recommend the Switch Lite for anyone looking to get started with mobile gaming. Two thumbs up.
If you didnât know this already, you also have to get a subscription for Nintendo, so at most, youâd spend like $50-60 on top of the switch itself. But besides that, itâs ready to go!I got a silicone case right after and joystick covers bc I noticed they discolor easily, and I donât want any marks from me dropping it. It is kind of slick without the case and uncomfortable to hold for a long time, so I got the case w back âbumpersâ and it helps a lot. I will be getting the mobile controllers (the Nintendo classic two controllers that the switch uses %26 the one that looks like a gaming controller to try out with gameplay, too! It really depends on your WiFi with how fast itâll go, but the speed with loading is pretty fast and offline works very well with offline ... MoreIf you didnât know this already, you also have to get a subscription for Nintendo, so at most, youâd spend like $50-60 on top of the switch itself. Iâve never had or played any switches, so this is fun for me. My last Nintendo console was the original Wii, so itâs cool to see how far Nintendo has come, even when this isnât one of their newer products. Reminds me a lot of the Nintendo DS or PlayStation mobile consoles.
