I got this appliance for free in exchange for the thorough review below, but I was not compensated for any particular opinion, and my opinions and methods are mine alone. There are very few things that are either perfect or useless kitchen purchases, but there are use cases that make a product better or worse for someone. In summary, this is a perfect product for someone that cooks for themselves, or is looking to do meal prep, or is living in a kitchen-limited situation. I would have loved this in my dorm room (sorry, administrators who have this banned. I had a toaster oven in college. Lifeās tough and this isi safer than a toaster oven) So letās talk about me: I am a very comfortable and reasonably skilled cook. I cook dinner for my family 6 nights out of 7 a week, on average, for a family of 5, with a large dinner Friday night that is ten people on average. I tried out every single setting on the Foodi to see how it came out. I donāt own a rice cooker--I donāt generally find it that hard to make rice on the stove--but I regret to tell myself most of all that the brown rice setting in incredible and I would absolutely use it again for that purpose. The rice setting cooks the rice perfectly competently, but for my specific use case, I donāt know that I would use it. The pasta setting I found silly for me, but I could see someone who wanted to one pot that meal by throwing cooked meat and sauce into it afer the pasta cooked absolutely adoring the setting. I tried out the braise setting by making a gochujang braised chicken with rice, and I think it did a fairly decent job braising! Thatās not something Iāve seen on these cookers, and I think Iāll get to make good use of it in the future, especially on high-volume days like thanksgiving. Oats was another setting that surprised me with its usefulness. I love steel cut oats but unfortunately that often involves making steel cut oats, and the ability to walk away and basically be called back when its done was a fantastic boon. I will absolutely use that again for race mornings or other times where I need something substantial but lack the time. THey taste so much better than overnight oats. The sear and slow cook settings work absolutely fine. I think prefer a regular slow cooker for my general applications, but if I didnāt already have one this would be a great all in one. It sears about like those old electric frying pans: Nothing to write home about, but also very little to complain about. There was not much of a hot spot problem, which impressed me. Pros: THE CLEANING MY GOD THE CLEANING. I did everything I could to make this thing miserable to clean. I let pasta sauce sit. I let oats dry out. I braised in gochujang for hours. I tried to emotionally destroy myself through difficult to clean foods, and it laughed at my attempts. I barely needed to wipe half the time. The food just glided off. I would buy it for this alone. Perfect to take to a cabin or airbnb. Space saving: Because it does so many things one could theoretically get rid of multiple appliances that do the same things. I donāt have the kind of space limitations that would make me get rid of my slow cooker, and I donāt own a rice cooker anyhow, but I can see the utility of this if I had limited space. Cons: As someone with a bigger family itās a bit small, but I think for a single or couple, it would be fantastic, and maybe even for a family that didnāt rely so much on making enough for leftovers. Like I said in the beginning, specific use cases. Timing: This is coming from someone who doesnāt use rice cookers and the like, but I did not love not knowing when my rice was going to be finished while I was trying to do dinner. It DOES have a warming setting, so I could have gotten more comfortable using that, but the kind of cook I am prefers to time well in the kitchen so everything āhitsā at the same time.

The Ninja Foodi PossibleCooker PRO is a more than capable replacement for several kitchen appliances we needed to replace. Our primary use several times a month will be the slow cooker functionality. The settings allow you to adjust the cooking time and temperature easily. The non-stick surface makes cooking and cleaning easy. The included Ninja spoon worked well and did not scuff or scrape the bottom. It is super handy to have a handle on the lid to hold the spoon during cooking and storage. While our food was cooking, we heard a few cracking noises due to the temperature adjusting. This device has many other settings, including a bread maker. Included was also a recipe booklet to try for each setting. Check really closely that you are ordering the size you wanted. I thought this was going to be like the ones Iāve seen at the warehouse clubs and itās actually much smaller than that. I had an earlier version of this for 8 years before it died. Heavy use and I loved it! So, naturally I wanted to stick with ninja again. First the proās: wonderfully upgraded. Settings are much more digital than my previous version. I did like the ease of turning the knob vs. all the button pushing to set the function but Iāll adapt. Still the same amount of counter space. Colors and aesthetic appeal still great! Love that this version you can put the lid and entire pot in the oven if you need to crisp everything up a bit.Cons: the pot now comes up taller than the base and flares just slightly at the top. I have found that if it boils over at all it now just drips down into the base where itās impossible to clean with the heating plate. The previous model flared over the top of the base heating unit and dripped on the outside. My base was faulty. It kept beeping and saying āadd potā when the pot was already in the base and I hadnāt even touched the unit. It was acting like it shorted out.Product support: was incredibly helpful! Complete with video call so they could see what the unit was doing. We registered the product and they were able to replace the base. I did have to pay shipping which was a slight annoyance since none of it was my fault and it was under warranty but that is me being picky.I have multiple ninja products and am so pleased with them! Seriously, the product support was incredible and I could understand the person talking to me. I look forward to my new non-glitchy base!
I received this as a Christmas gift after mentioning that I would like one. It sat in the box in my room until the end of the second week of Jan. When I unboxed it, I loved the grey color. Everything seemed pretty straight forward & I was able to use it within a few min. The first two times I used it, the food wasnāt great & I mostly used the saute function but I figured there was a learning curve. And truthfully most nights Iād sacrifice taste for everybody being fed & easy clean up. The first time I used it there was a dark brown stain at the upper right corner of the base when I removed the pot. The first time I used it there was a dark brown stain at the upper right corner of the base when I removed the pot. This was irritating because I know that nothing leaked or spilled & I couldnāt remove it. So now this brand new appliance looked pretty used. The second time, more brown stains & the first stain got worse. & again, I know I did not spill or overflow anything. The third time I made spaghetti sauce with my 1st grader & let her take the lead so definitely some spilling that time but nothing that reached the bottom of the pot. During this time we would periodically get an error message to insert pot even though the pot was in it. The message got a little more frequent until eventually it wouldnāt register the pot at all. I took the pot out, checked the bottom-no sauce but more of the oily/greasy brown stuff & saw no issues, pressed the sensor, which kind of seemed crooked & a little stuck, & put the pot back in. & it still told not recognize the pot. After doing this multiple time I had to put the pot in the oven & we ate spaghetti with lukewarm sauce well later than planned. After looking in a Facebook group, I saw that there seemed to be a lot of known faulty bases so I called SharkNinja this past Wed & spoke to a very nice representative. She did a video call & had me do some ātroubleshootingā which consisted of unplugging the base & plugging it back in & turning it off & on. Iām sure this is SharkNinjaās way to pretend like they donāt know these things are faulty but whatever. The rep told me that they would send me a replacement base but unfortunately my color was on backorder for 3 weeks. That was fine as I love the color & itās not like I had gotten used to using it anyway. After our conversation I received an email about my warranty claim. That kind of left a bad taste in my mouth for whatever reason. I think just because the unit was pretty much brand new & faulty. I look at it more as an exchange or obligation but itās not a big deal. I think I spoke to her around 10-11a on Wed & around 9a on Thurs I got a notification that the new base was delivered. Now that was super impressive. I opened it last night & was extremely disappointed to find that it was a used base. I know companies typically will send a returned or refurbished unit for a warranty, but seriously, mine was purchased new & used 3x. I should have gotten a brand new base. Or at least take the time to make it look brand new. There were literally finger prints in the outside! Not to mention a stain & scratches on the inside. I used it twice today. Once to fry bacon & once to fry turkey. When I took it out to clean it in between uses, what do you know, another greasy brown stain in the same exact spot as the first one. And again, I did not spill anything. So this makes me think that the base probably has a crack or something. Do better Ninja.*it wonāt allow me to upload pics for some reason but I definitely have them!
We have used a small cooker/oven that will brown food and a crockpot for years. We bought the Ninja Foodi 8-in-1, 8.5 Quart PossibleCooker PRO right before going camping for over two weeks. We decided to bring the Ninja Foodi 8-in-1, 8.5 Quart PossibleCooker PRO instead of the other two small appliances. It performed great. We made soups, beef tips, baked potatoes and other meals. We found out if we wanted to use the slow cooker mode to start it on high for an hour then turn it to low.The sear function is so nice. It saves one less dish to wash since the meat can be seared and onions, etc cooked down in the same machine. We have not had any bad results. It cleans up so easily and fast. I love my new Ninja crockpot! I'm not the type of cook that likes to stand and meticulously watch over my culinary delights. Lazy cook? Yes I am!However, to be clear, I understand the importance of a well developed mouth watering treat. I have had my old crockpot for well over a decade and have been on the hunt for new one for about year. The best part, it allowed me to enjoy the holidays with my family instead of having to tend to food most of the day. Not only that, but every delicious morsel was perfect š.My only regret is that I only bought 1 cooker. I will be purchasing another Ninja Foodi PossibleCooker PRO 8.5 Quart as a gift to my daughter.I am so happy with my purchase and would highly recommend this purchase to anyone.
I donāt cook often, but Iām trying to get into it. I only made two things with this slow cooker, neither of which were meals. I made spinach artichoke dip and applesauce. Both turned out great and were super easy!Pros: I love the shape of the slow cooker. It is compact and I like that it is square instead of the typical oval. The slow cooker cools down quickly and is nonstick so itās very easy to clean if you choose not to put it in the dishwasher, which I love that this is an option. It also comes with a rice spatula that I promptly threw in my forgotten utensil drawer and will likely never use, but itās useful for others.Cons: The volume is very loud and it canāt be adjusted. Not a huge deal, just a side note if you also have a dog who is afraid of everything, but may be a pro if youāre hard of hearing. You canāt use the slow cooker setting on low heat for fewer than 6 hours. The recipe I used called for low heat, so I just set a separate timer. Also, the instructions say you can set a timer for the āstay warmā setting, but when I hit the arrow for the time, nothing happened and it was still set to 0. When I hit start, it counted up, just saying how long it has been warm for. Lastly, I wish there was a secure spot to wrap up the cord.Note: I actually read the directions (shocker) and it advises to run it for 10 minutes on first use to get rid of the smell. I did it and there definitely was a smell so Iām glad I did that before putting food in it.Overall, I really like this slow cooker and I canāt wait to start to cook more with it!
Lifeās tough and this isi safer than a toaster oven)So letās talk about me: I am a very comfortable and reasonably skilled cook. I would have loved this in my dorm room (sorry, administrators who have this banned. I had a toaster oven in college. Lifeās tough and this isi safer than a toaster oven)So letās talk about me: I am a very comfortable and reasonably skilled cook. I cook dinner for my family 6 nights out of 7 a week, on average, for a family of 5, with a large dinner Friday night that is ten people on average.I tried out every single setting on the Foodi to see how it came out.I donāt own a rice cooker--I donāt generally find it that hard to make rice on the stove--but I regret to tell myself most of all that the brown rice setting in incredible and I would absolutely use it again for that purpose. The rice setting cooks the rice perfectly competently, but for my specific use case, I donāt know that I would use it.The pasta setting I found silly for me, but I could see someone who wanted to one pot that meal by throwing cooked meat and sauce into it afer the pasta cooked absolutely adoring the setting.I tried out the braise setting by making a gochujang braised chicken with rice, and I think it did a fairly decent job braising! Thatās not something Iāve seen on these cookers, and I think Iāll get to make good use of it in the future, especially on high-volume days like thanksgiving.Oats was another setting that surprised me with its usefulness. There was not much of a hot spot problem, which impressed me.Pros: THE CLEANING MY GOD THE CLEANING. Perfect to take to a cabin or airbnb.Space saving: Because it does so many things one could theoretically get rid of multiple appliances that do the same things. I donāt have the kind of space limitations that would make me get rid of my slow cooker, and I donāt own a rice cooker anyhow, but I can see the utility of this if I had limited space.Cons:As someone with a bigger family itās a bit small, but I think for a single or couple, it would be fantastic, and maybe even for a family that didnāt rely so much on making enough for leftovers. Like I said in the beginning, specific use cases.Timing: This is coming from someone who doesnāt use rice cookers and the like, but I did not love not knowing when my rice was going to be finished while I was trying to do dinner. It DOES have a warming setting, so I could have gotten more comfortable using that, but the kind of cook I am prefers to time well in the kitchen so everything āhitsā at the same time.
