For a long time I chopped everything by hand. My first Ninja came with my Ninja Foodie, IMHO the best aire fryer I have ever had. I accidentally threw away the blades of my first Ninja chopper. That problem was on me. I now have 2 ninjas & 1 blade. I have the ability of chopping pecans & can quickly do onions by switching container & moving the blade. I love creamy rice pudding. With this machine I can make rice flour, I used my Cusinart, not fine enough. The rice flour make the rice pudding thicker & a really nice consistency.

I’ve had this for a year and have come to learn what it’s good for and what it’s limitations are. I bought it since it’s affordable, lightweight, easy to store, and not a chore to pull out for use. I use it a few times a month. I originally bought it to chop up vegetables for dumplings, and since I overfilled it a bit, it didn’t do the most even job. The chopper performs best when the chopped product volume is between the lowest blade height and the indicated max volume height. Don’t be like me and push past the 16 oz line. It’s just easier and cleaner to do thing in batches. Product tends to get into the attachment chamber of the upper half too when the chopper is overfilled. That part can be cleaned, to a degree, with a toothpick. It’s a little annoying sometimes ... MoreI’ve had this for a year and have come to learn what it’s good for and what it’s limitations are. That part can be cleaned, to a degree, with a toothpick. It’s a little annoying sometimes to scoop food out that gets cornered around the measuring divots, and it can be a little difficult to clean food caught in the lid’s lip. Otherwise it’s easy to clean, and it’s awesome that the unit doubles as tupperware. Food it’s good for: rough chopping anything, grinding small dry goods (like combining sesame and sugar), veggie meatballs, cookies in which fluffy creaming isn’t required, pureeing high-moisture goods like tomatoes, purees tofu smooth enough for vegan pates and cream cheese, egg salads What it struggles with: mayonnaise (since the oil has to be added slowly, it can be messy and more time consuming than other methods since the only opening is the attachment hole—it does work though) What it can’t do: pureeing thicker goods like chickpeas for hummus (it overheated and appeared to die when I tried to do this, but luckily it started working again the next day), nut butters As long as you’re aware of what this is good for, it’s a good buy and quite handy in the kitchen. But if you’re looking for a more versatile tool, something like an immersion blender with attachments would be a better investment and still easy to store and take out. I would also go with a more robust food processor if you need more power. But for me, it was a good starter appliance to figure out what my needs are.

This is by far the best food chopper on the market today. I’m 66 years of age and because of the Arthritis that I was born with according to doctors, I’m now a bit of a klutz. Safety is my primary concern, for me and whoever else is chopping or dicing vegetables and fruits or puréeing for our youngest grandchildren. Including the Ninja Express Chop, we own 4 other electric food choppers by various manufacturers. Our other electric food choppers have only 2 blades. The Ninja Express Chop has 4 extremely sharp staggered blades all in a different position on the shaft. The base has rubber around the rim so it does NOT side or move unless I want it to. Just put the shaft with the 4 staggered blades into the container, no twisting or locking into place. Then add your vegetables or fruits, snap on the splash guard lid with the center hole OPEN, set the top of the food processor on top, again no twisting or locking into place. One light press will chop, 2 light presses to dice, 3 light presses will purée. This makes it especially easy for me who has a partially locked shoulder blade and a decrease in strength in that hand and arm from a fall a few years ago. (Physical Therapy didn’t do as much good as I had hoped for.) The sizes of the chopped or diced vegetables or fruits is uniformly perfect every time, unlike when I use a knife (culinary training) or another brand of electric food chopper. I’m greatly impressed, which for me as an admitted perfectionist is very rare. If you want to chop, dice, or purée ahead of time, you can do that. Remove the splash guard then the shaft with the staggered blades, snap the splash guard back into place, and press the small lid onto the hole, then set aside or refrigerate the bottom container of the Ninja Express Chop. My Ninja Express Chop was free during a Mother’s Day promotion by the manufacturer with my purchase of the Ninja Foodi Smart XL 6-in-1 Indoor Grill but after having used the Ninja Express Chop, this is the ONLY electric food chopper that I use now and when it wears out, I’m going to immediately order a new one because I now refuse to chop, or dice, or purée by any other method. I want to add that as the biological mom of 8 grown children, 14 biological grandchildren with another on the way in June 2021, 10 grown stepchildren and 14 step-grandchildren, and a husband who is very sick because of ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis otherwise referred to as Lou Gehrig’s Disease) and several other eventually fatal illnesses, I do a LOT of cooking, chopping, dicing, and puréeing of vegetables and fruits. The Ninja Express Chop is now an absolute must have in my kitchen and makes my job much easier and safer. BUY THE NINJA EXPRESS FOOD CHOPPER. I can personally guarantee that you will NOT regret it.
excellent for chopping vegetables, making breadcrumbs and other simple tasks. Because it was so easy to use, I try to make garam masala (combination of whole dry spices, lightly roasted, cooled, and pulverized). The recipe said that the prep time for one cup of garam masala (including pulverizing, would be 20 minutes. However, for me, the pulverizing step took nearly 2 hours. I had to repeat the process multiple times. I then washed the workable by hand and left it to dry on the kitchen counter. On the following morning, I noted that the work bowl was stained and the lid was scratched. It seems that the Choppa could not handle whole spices (coriander seed, cumin seed, etc). The stains and scratches on the web old are very disappointing. I'd appreciate any ... Moreexcellent for chopping vegetables, making breadcrumbs and other simple tasks. From this experience, my impression is that this chopper is not suitable for pulverizing whole dry spices.. A standard old-fashioned coffee grinder will probably be more effective.
I received this product in exchange for an unbiased review. This is a nice compact chopper for small jobs. Simple to use, easy to clean, with a solid non-slip base. The double blade of the chopper is a great feature that allows you chop more volume. The storage lid is handy. And the cover keeps the electric part of the chopper clean. The downsides are that this is for small jobs and there is only 1 speed. Some speed variation would help achieve better results depending on how fine/chunky you want your end product to be.Overall, a good tool for small jobs if you have limited counter space.
Powerful, solid, quick, easy to clean. This is an amazing tool and performs way more than it should for this price. This little baby is helpful for making anything from a small tuna salad to food processing for a pie or cake. For under $20 less powerful chopper can replace more expensive and bulky appliances for many recipes. Makes a great gift. The only caveat is that the blade assembly must be handled with care. Though safer than shopping by hand, this is an appliance to treat with respect as it gives results in fractions of seconds that you control with a big single button on the power mechanism. Another wonderful thing is that other than the power mechanism everything else is top rack dishwasher safe and I have put mine through many times with no problems.
I owned a Pampered Chef hand chopper for years that had seen better days. After researching I decided to try this instead of a hand chopper and I am so glad that I did. It is easy to use and easy to clean and FAST. A couple of quick pulses makes short work of chopping with less effort and noise than a hand chopper. More pulses will produce crumbs or a puree if that is what is needed. It is small and stores easily in a cupboard. I didn't want a huge food processor that takes up counter space and/or needs a lot of cupboard space. This is convenient and less hassle than bringing out a large appliance to do a small job.
Great for Baby food puree! I was on the hunt for a blender because I bought a $100 baby steamer and puree machine that arrived defective. I already had a Ninja chopper with big attachments and the smaller set I happened to misplace the smaller set lid and saw the price for this was so reasonable and I knew I loved the size so I bought it. The lid design on this one is much easier and more functional for baby food making. best part compared to other puree machines or blenders is you don't need a scarper to push bigger splattered chunks down. The rubber ring on the bottom of container makes it super easy to take motor piece off in between blends and slam lightly on counter tip making bigger splatters slide down to blend instead of taking lid off and scrapping them ... MoreGreat for Baby food puree! The rubber ring on the bottom of container makes it super easy to take motor piece off in between blends and slam lightly on counter tip making bigger splatters slide down to blend instead of taking lid off and scrapping them down. This made baby food making so quick and easy. I've used the Nutribullet in the past for smoothies and such and would not recommend for either smoothie or puree. That product burns up super quick, leaves burnt dust everywhere and is a pain to clean it! Ninja is super easy to clean because the blades come out instead of a bottom piece with rubber ring and blender blade. The blade design makes the functionality and purpose very quick. Now the only con I have found with these is you have to clean the motor piece bottom regularly food comes up through the holes and if you don't clean them can get gunky and clogged. The BPA Free plastic is great but it will crack over time where the blender blade sits probably related to both dishwasher cleaning and pressure from blade. If they were to find ways to fix these two issues. this is the perfect chopper, blender and puree machine under 400 bucks.
I'm a relatively experienced home cook. I have a KitchenAid food processor, but find that it is a bit bulky, hard to clean and overkill for most weeknight meals. I bought this to do some of the basics for my everyday cooking, and, am I happy with it. It does a fantastic job of chopping just about anything. Need diced garlic or ginger? Easy and result is near perfect. Need to blitz up a tomato sauce for pasta? No problem. Super small so easy to store. Super easy to clean in the dishwasher. Super easy to use. I love it.
