Solid training shoe, needed something with a bit more support, but still flexible enough to move around in during a workout. These were by far the most comfortable pair of Nikes I've owned and they held up well during workouts, whether it was a heavy lift day, or some cross training. After about a year and a half the heel tab broke, which is disappointing, but the rest of the shoe is still in good shape. Very disappointed these were discontinued in favor of the Free X Metcon 3, which looks closer to the awful Free redesign they did a few years ago.

These sneakers look and feel absolutely amazing. The dark green color and accents are absolutely excellent and they feel SO well made. Unfortunately, they cause a squeak while walking, running or otherwise moving. It's not the sole, but the brackets that hold the laces rubbing on another piece of rubber or plastic. I tried to adjust the laces and make other modifications to correct or reduce this issue and was unable. Looking at the reviews, it seems like others had the same issue and that it didn't go away with time.

I loved my first Metcon Free X's, and I think these are a slight upgrade. The sock-like fit is is more supportive, although I had to go 1/2 size up (I have a very wide toe-box). I definitely feel they're more stable for heavy lifts, thanks to what seems like a slight decrease in cushioning. Still very comfortable, but not quite as soft. The only thing I don't like is--yes--the squeak. It's real, and kind of a drag. That said, you don't really hear it in a loud gym environment, so it's worth it given the many positive attributes of the shoe.

This shoe is fantastic! I train in it 3-4 times a week through a mixture of heavy weighted interval training, cardio interval training, and HIIT. The sock-like feel is so comfortable and secure around the foot that when your shoelace unties, you really cannot tell it is untied. The shoe width allows you to spread your toes to get close to a natural, barefoot feel with a solid base. The Free X Metcon sole profile and technology is a great mix for a variety of workout outs. I recommend this shoe.
Probably my favorite training shoe of all time. I bought a pair about 2 years ago. They made it through 5 days a week in the gym, and then on the back porch and garage when through the pandemic. Even after wearing them out a bit, they hugged my foot well, and with the new pair I just purchased, I remember how much better they stick to your foot during active workouts. I've bought them in black/white each time, but hope the line gets re-upped so other colors are available.
Just bought a 2nd pair. I have wide feet and have trouble finding comfortable shoes for working out. These are extremely comfortable, I work them HARD. Great hybrid for light running incorporated into CrossFit style workouts. I agree with complaints in the squeak and laces loosening but otherwise a great show. I wear a 10 in nearly every other brand but 9.5 in this one fits perfectly.
This is my favorite looking, possibly of all time. I want them to work so bad but I cannot do anything that required me moving my feet. I tried working out in these, like running, jumping, doing metcons but my feet start killing me like if I was wearing an ankle brace that is too tight around my foot. Before you ask suggest, I don't even tighten the laces, they're loosely hanging on and tied just for styling purposes. I have even made them my casual sneakers but I can't even last all day in them. The MetCon 5 is actually more comfortable than this shoe not just to workout but walking around in all day.
A step up from the metcon 1. Slightly firmer ride, without being uncomfortable. The gator type skin is durable. While I like that the laces don't pinch the top of the foot, it is hard to cinch it snug. One little gripe; the shoes squeak. Tried baby powder in the soles but no luck. Overall a go to training shoe that is versatile for lifting, plyo, and metcon.
I love these shoes so much I bought three pairs before Nike stopped selling them. I wish they still had the full line since I already bought a black pair (and red and gray), which is now the only color offered. I love how versatile they are. I wear them for everything from HIIT workouts to weight training to jump roping to light running. And if you do crossfit (I don't) they are ideal for rope climbs. These feature everything I love about the Nike Free RN 2018 but with a lot more lateral stability. PLEASE bring these back!!! (I hate the Nike Free Metcon 3. It's a totally different shoe.)
I initially went on the bigger size, but had to return for 1/2 size smaller. This shoe is a very comfortable trainer. I have somewhat of a wide foot and feels good. I would even say that the forefoot of the shoe might be extra roomy for my foot. I have done a couple of workouts from the NTC app and have felt great in them. There is a little squeak in the shoe but has gotten less and less each time I wear and use. I usually buy and wear running shoes, but since doing a lot of at home workouts I wanted to change to a trainer and so far I am impressed and definitely think this shoe is a winner.
