990’s are the best. The fifth generation is good but I know there will be improvements in the upcoming revisions. It’s still a great shoe at a much reduced price.

This is a 2nd pair of these same shoes I bought pair for my son who was diagnosed with plantar fasciitis. His foot doctor recommended them. Sadly his first pair got stolen from his locker hence the 2nd purchase. We absolutely love these shoes. They are stylish, light, and if a 16 year old wears them versus crocs that’s a huge plus in my book!

Everything I want from a New Balance 900 series shoe. Stability, cushioning, durability without the gimmicks. I've been wearing them for decades and nothing else keeps me injury free like these do. They've always been relatively expensive when compared to other running shoes but....darn...you just about need a loan to buy them.
Great quality. I wore these daily for over a year and they held up well. The soles and insides were pretty worn, so I ordered the v6. They wouldn’t fit my orthotics well, so I went back to the v5. It’s too bad they are discontinuing this model. I am stocking up and buying 2 pairs to keep on hand. Also love that they are made in USA.
I have been wearing these shoes for over 5 years. Well, not the same pair, but I believe these are by fifth. So they last awhile as well. I first invested in this shoe when I was having problems with planar fasciitis to provide better support. I immediately felt relieve and haven't had a problem since! They are very comfortable, every pair I've bought fits just like gloves on my feet. I highly recommend the New Balance 990!

I remember paying $85 for them after the discount and as a 19 year old, that felt like a lot of money. I used them as my primary running shoes for a least 2 years and got into the routine of buying a new pair every 2ish years thereafter. Quality has always been excellent although I migrated away from 990's for running maybe 15 years ago. The past two pairs I've purchased were the all black version and I'm still wondering if it's just me - but the all black versions did not seem to be as high quality as the greys. I bought a pair of 990v5's in 2019 in all black and were never pleased with them. Then I realized this was the second pair of all ... I ended up taking them to the Goodwill since I hadn't worn them very much. I purchased this current pair in the grey colorway and I have worn them several times since received. For some reason, these feel like higher quality than the all black version. I'm wondering if it has to do with the quality of the suede? I also have gone on a couple of runs in these new versions. I usually average 10-20 miles per week and a 2 mile jog felt 'ok'. These shoes feel heavy, less 'squishy' and VERY stable compared with my normal running shoes (Brooks Glycerin, NB 1080, etc). You can absolutely run in them but there are better current options. I will use these as 'lifestyle' shoes at this point and for that purpose, they are excellent. Service from Fleet Feet was excellent as it always has been.
I'm 74 years old and New Balance has always been my favorite shoe, for at least the past 30 years. In addition, New Balance is the only athletic shoe company still making shoes in the United States. USA USA USA
The shoes were purchased for my husband. He only wears New Balance shoes that are made in the USA. Very proud of this. Loves the shoes. Fit great. Loves that they are still made in America.
I bought a pair of shoes on line and I hate it. They didn’t fit. I went to return them. Had to call them 4 times to get an answer from a person so I could get a return label. The young lady said she would have to charge me. I asked if I had to pay if the shoes don’t fit? Yes. So beware people. If they don’t fit it’s a hassle to send them back, and it will cost you.
