Neutrogena Deep Clean Facial Cleanser

This worked well for me at first. My face felt super clean, and you can see how much dirt is removed by the water color in the sink. I guess our faces do carry a lot of dirt, or this just works great! But I noticed after about two weeks my skin was starting to dry out. Which surprised me because it’s alcohol free, but it does contain hydroxy acid. Maybe that ingredient doesn’t work well with my skin. The product does say it’s targeted for normal to oily skin. I’d recommend but buy with caution.

Excellent product, I usually use the peach exfoliate by st.ives once a weak and this is basically the same but about 20-30% of the abrasive bits. So it's great for daily use! :) couldnt be more happy with it. This along with a facial moisturizer (with a minimum SPF of 15-20) will give you some AMAZING and healthy skin. Been my regiment for years. Also use biore nose/pore strips!!!! After washing face so your pores are open to be cleaned by the strip.

1st use swollen rash that burned and iched

I had bought just the original acne control cleanser its amber in color. With high hopes that I had found a hypoallergenic cleanser to help with acne I awoke to itchy, red, swollen, rash covered face. It took roughly 2 days to subside. I had only had this happen 1 other time and that was when I tried proactively, so I assumed it was the benzoyl peroxide but the active ingredient in the bottle of neutrogena was salicylic acid and i have used that numerous times and still do. And it was the only product I had used on my face. And on the question below this comment I'm going to say yes to because everyone is different and that friend may like it but it will come with a friendly warning for a skin patch test just to possibly save some from how my experience turned out. P.S it was an odd rash like you couldn't really see it because I was red and swollen but I could feel it when touching my face as if my skin had the same feel as kinda like the smallest grit of sand paper.

Bad reaction

I’m not one to post reviews, but felt I should with this. I am looking for another facial cleanser for oily skin and decided to try this as it was dermatologist recommended. Two days after using it, I started to develop a rash around my mouth and jaw line and sensitivity around my eyes. Day three I am now experiencing burning all over my face. I don’t have sensitive skin and have never had issues with any other skincare and judging by other’s experiences, it sounds like this is something that needs to get looked into. Very disappointed and would definitely not recommend.

Bad skin reaction

This is my fifth night using this product. The first two mornings after using it I noticed my face felt very dry and tight. Didn't think much of it until the 3rd time using it and the next morning I woke up with swollen eye lids and under eyes and dry patches on my chin. My eyes are still swollen the next day. I've never had a product do this to my skin, and so quickly. I stupidly used it again tonight just I be sure and my face is very itchy. I'm afraid to know what I'll look like tomorrow. I moisturized really good and it still feels really tight and dry. I used your Neutrogena Naturals face wash/makeup remover product for many years and loved it so much but can no longer find it. It was such a great product please bring to back.

Best products!!!

I just hope this never product does not discontinue as the whitening one. I wish they made that product just for me i would happily buy it as a loyal customer. The foaming deep clean oil control is the best face wash on this earth and I request the brand to not make new products and replace it rather make other products but please don’t discontinue. Iv been hunting for it and cannot find it anywhere the new one from normal to sensitive skin why would someone buy that? Infact oil to normal if promoted well everyone would love it! Its an amazing product. Iv tried full of surat and haven’t found it. And i wish those whitening night lotion is back!

Deep clean

Deep clean indeed! This face wash is very effective and the pump bottle makes it super easy to use. My face felt very clean, I’m definitely not a skin expert but I ended up with a few pimples after use which is evidence that it works right?! Only downside is that my face felt dry after using, but very soft and nothing that moisturiser couldn’t fix though! Would buy to continue using.

I bought this product for my 14 year old. The day after she used it her acne was almost gone and her skin looked bright and heathy, but after the second day she had a rash around her month, chin and jaw line plus around her eyes were red. All she wanted to do was scratch her face. She was so disappointed she could not use this product. I suggest before you use this product google the reviews because a lot of people have had so kind of reaction to it.

Harsh on skin

The first few days of using this cleanser were great; my skin felt deeply cleansed, smooth and clear. I only used it at night, and the only thing I put on my skin during the day is sunscreen. After the first week, I started getting breakouts and noticing more redness on my cheeks. Also, my face often felt tight even after applying serums, oils and moisturiser. I stayed with it in case my skin was purging, however after two weeks the redness had worsened. I would say this cleanser is very harsh, considering I only used it once a day, not twice as recommended. Also my skin is not usually sensitive.

It is AMAZING, but careful.

I have been using this product for 4-5 years now, and I have rarely ever bought makeup wipes thanks to it. In the beginning I used a charcoal cleanser with this, but I ditched it when I noticed this one does everything on its own, and I didn't need the excessive washing! It is super great in the shower for use on other oily or dirty parts of your body, sensitive places too. Also, I use two (very harsh) prescription acne medications--both topical, and I have never experienced any such reactions to the skin like I have heard from other people. For reference, I am incredibly oily skinned: my plain bare face can turn into a oil slick just after 10 minutes, and as I mentioned earlier, I use prescription acne medications for my severe acne prone skin and ENLARGED pores. I have sensitivity to fragrances too, and this product is scented but I have zero issues! For guys, the fragrance is unisex and doesn't linger. This works great for daily use or to remove dirt, makeup, or anything really. My friends have used this at sleepovers, and they did not have irritations... I believe the reason for other people's poor experience with this product is that it contains salicylic acid, which those who are sensitive skinned may want to run away from this formula, especially sensitive-fair skin. Overusing salicylic acid can cause irritations, so I would avoid washing more than twice a day if you are anything less than combination skinned, new to the product, or not used to harshness like me. Over time, your skin should adjust, and you will reap the benefits for sure. If you are oily, you still should not overload your face with this stuff no matter if you are used to it. It works, and a little goes a long way. I use about half a pump every wash. Deep Clean is pure magic.
