We have a number of virtual hosts in a cluster. The hosts need to support the live migration of virtual machines as well as storage replication. We are currently trying to do this using bonded 1G links, but technology has moved on and I’d like to roll out 10G networking initially.I intend having a series of management networks for IPMI, Hypervisor management, PDU management, etc. I intend using the S5800-48T4S for this. We are a small city that purchased 4 of these unit for a intersite project using all FS equipement. I must say that for the price it's very difficult to match the performance of theses switches. We are also using a mux demux because we only have one drop of fiber available. (Also from FS)The only real problem is the lack of security update i must say or alternative firmware compatibility.The support is near perfection also. Great response from their support and the sales teams!!
