MSR Elixir 3-Person Backpacking Tent

The MSR Elixir 3 Tent is a thoughtfully engineered 3-person backpacking tent, offering generous space for you and your kit in a quick and simple design. Its freestanding, true rectangular floorplan feels noticeably more liveable, comfortably accommodating modern wide sleeping mats without overlap and providing impressive headroom thanks to its clever pole geometry. Inside, a mix of breathable mesh and solid panels delivers a cosy, private yet ventilated feel, while practical details like easy-to-use one-hand zipper doors, cable ports at the corners for headphones and large gear lofts keep organisation simple on longer trekking trips. The Elixir 3 also takes a more considered approach to materials. Its mesh fabric is solution-dyed using pre-coloured fibres, significantly reducing the water and energy needed during production. This process lowers carbon emissions by at least 80% compared to previous fabrics, making it a smarter choice for those looking to tread a little lighter on their adventures. Outdoors, the Elixir 3 is equally dependable. Robust 7000-series aluminium poles and a PFAS-free DWR coating work alongside fully taped seams to keep the weather at bay, while the full-featured rainfly adds large StayDry doors with rain gutters, kickstand vents and generous side-entry vestibules so you can store your wet packs and boots. Colour-coded poles and webbing make pitching fast and intuitive, and with the footprint, stakes and guy lines included, you’re ready to camp straight away. With generous space for you and your adventure buddies, the Elixir 3 provides a comfortable and dependable base wherever you pitch up for the night.
