This is my first curved monitor, I am honestly amazed at how good the image quality is - I have been using my Samsung Q90r 55” TV up to this point and whilst the brightness cannot compare to it (300 nits vs 1500 nits!), the image looks just fine by comparison in my opinion as the distance from the screen is obviously lower than the TV.HDR quality and brightness is great, though in a very bright room this may not suffice, in which case I would recommend either closing the blinds or curtains, or dimming your lights down - let’s be honest though who wants to be gaming in a sun room? XDI have it connected via DisplayPort at 170Hz to an RTX 3080 MSI Gaming Z 10GB and from benchmarking with Shadow of the Tomb Raider at 1440p everything to ultra/max with RT on it looks ... MoreThis is my first curved monitor, I am honestly amazed at how good the image quality is - I have been using my Samsung Q90r 55” TV up to this point and whilst the brightness cannot compare to it (300 nits vs 1500 nits!), the image looks just fine by comparison in my opinion as the distance from the screen is obviously lower than the TV.HDR quality and brightness is great, though in a very bright room this may not suffice, in which case I would recommend either closing the blinds or curtains, or dimming your lights down - let’s be honest though who wants to be gaming in a sun room? XDI have it connected via DisplayPort at 170Hz to an RTX 3080 MSI Gaming Z 10GB and from benchmarking with Shadow of the Tomb Raider at 1440p everything to ultra/max with RT on it looks absolutely stunning! The motion is clear and the colours are beautiful.I have yet to fine tune the image, which I’m confident will improve even further once I calibrate it. As for dead pixels there is just one, which is not a problem whatsoever as fortunately it’s located on the lower left hand side of the screen around 1cm square from the corner. The build quality is quite frankly more than passable, the plastic doesn’t feel cheap and at this price point is excellent. The stand is excellent, having more than enough adjustability on the tilt and the height adjustment is beautifully balanced that allows for adjustment with just one hand above or below to raise or lower respectively, which again I am very pleased with for the price! The staff at Overclockers were very helpful in their advice and as I needed delivery on a certain day they arranged this for me without complication, which I am grateful for.In conclusion, I would recommend this monitor to anyone looking for either their first one, or upgrading from an older model. Sure it’s not going to be competing with monitors in the £££’s range, but honestly who would think it would? Apples to oranges springs to mind.If you’re looking for a new gaming monitor I don’t think you’ll be disappointed with this one.
