The Montblanc Meisterstück LeGrand Gold fountain pen continues the collection’s black-and-gold design with precious resin and a handcrafted gold nib. Introduced in 1924, the Meisterstück collection is recognizable here in the black precious-resin cap and barrel, gold details, and white Montblanc emblem inlaid in the cap top. Rhodium plating gives the handcrafted 14k gold nib a pale metallic finish. Made in Germany, this LeGrand fills from bottled ink using an integrated piston and closes with a screw-on cap. It measures 145.8 mm capped and 15.5 mm across the barrel, with a capped weight of 25.34 g. This reference replaces 13661 following a packaging change.

This pen is wonderful and feels substantial in the hand. It writes very smoothly and has a very slight amount of flex. I have the one with the medium nib. Would I buy it again? ABSOLUTELY

Remarkable product, reliable and sturdy, easy to use, much cheaper than other tools on auction on EBAY. As it comes from China, the delivery time is a bit longer than in Europe, but it's worth waiting. Have a look at Disasembling the Montblanc 146-149 on YouTube or other explanation sites. l strongly recommend this product if you are reluctant to spend a fortune on a tool.

The Montblanc 146 (LeGrand) is a classic elegant fountain pen, a little less thick than the larger 149; this matters if you want to post the cap or clip the pen in a pocket. The 146 nib is smaller than the magnificent 149, but is as smooth as you please. As with many other European nibs, a "fine" is still pretty wet. The 146, like the 149, is a piston filler which operates easily and has good ink capacity; the 149 that I purchased more than forty years ago is still working, all original with minimal maintenance. Side by side, I cannot see much difference between "red" gold and "yellow" gold; both look good. Whether as a gift or for personal use, if you want to buy just one great fountain pen, this is it.

I couldn’t be happier with my recent purchase. I originally ordered platinum trim, but because of backorder issues for that product I decided to change to gold trim, and I’m glad I did. It is a timeless, classic design and that is perfectly sized for my hand. It is a great writer, and I look forward to using it for years to come.
I have had this pen for a while now, and I can heartily recommend it. It writes extremely well and the piston filler holds lots of ink. The price tag is on the high side but I think it's worth it. Very smooth writing fountain pen.
The pen is truly a meisterstuck in every way. I love the pen more than I thought I would. Joe encouraged me to try it out and I was smitten. But even more, the service at Pen Boutique is outstanding. They could not have been more accommodating and patient as I tried various pens and picked through the inks. Great place!
The cap is lose even when it is tightened right up, it is missing the Pix trademark and the lettering on the cap seems smaller than on others. All of these things made me question whether it was 100% correct, however am positive that it is genuine from a reputed seller such as yourselves and these are just many of the changes mont blanc make
Found it hard to justify spending that amount of money on a pen, but so pleased I did. I’ve used fountain pens before, but this is in a league of its own in terms of the smoothness with which is writes as well as the outstanding build quality. Berry’s Jewellers were also very helpful with my initial enquiry and a pleasure to deal with when I bought it.
Fantastic pen that is a tremendous writing experience. The REAL BONUS was buying from Capodagli with their great prices and very very fast shipping. Definitely will buy from them again!!!
It has all been said. Many consider this pen to be the gold standard. It is beautiful, well crafted, and performs superbly. Understated classic elegance.I got hooked on fountain pens with my first little red Sheaffer Student. Five decades, and many nice pens, later I have finally rewarded myself with this Montblanc. Is any pen worth this price? You can add artwork, precious materials, commemoratives or other costly upgrades; but you cannot add any improvements or refinements to the basic function of being a pen, perfected. My money is well spent on this Legrand because it truly is the pen it claims to be, … and I deserve it!Penboutique service was outstanding. I’m sure there will always be more pens in my future, but this one is truly special.
