Amazing jacket

This jacket is nearly perfect. The fit is great and you can move easily without any binding. It is windproof and it is warm (even before you turn on the heating elements.) I have used it without heat in the 30-40 degree temp range for 1-2 hours at a time. During the recent cold spell (0-10 degrees F) I wore it beneath my old parka while taking a 5 mile hike and ended up taking the parka off because I got too hot. It came with a 2 Ah battery and that lasts about 4 hours on the low setting. Now my wife wants one. The only change I would suggest is that the battery pocket should be moved slightly more to the left side. The current battery position is not very comfortable while driving.

Heated Jacket - Not great dispersal of heat

This jacket performs well for what I purchased it for. I work in an industrial cooler/freezer (between 35 to -20 degrees F)and can't seem to stay warm. This jacket provides additional heat, which is exactly what I wanted. There are some problems with the jacket, but it was still a decent purchase. The major problem is that jacket only has heating in the upper torso & shoulder area, so those areas can get hot without warming the rest of you as the jacket doesn't do a great job of dispersing the heat generated throughout the jacket. The other problem worth mentioning is the placement of the battery pocket. It is on the lower back on the left side. Nice and out of the way while you are up and about while working. It is completely in the way while sitting or driving.

Heats okay but has MAJOR design flaws

The jacket heats okay which is it’s primary function. However, there are MAJOR design flaws that will keep me from buying it again or recommending it. The battery pocket is the WORST. It is in the most uncomfortable spot ever. How did this pass prototype phase without someone realizing it? Also, the jacket is made of a weak material and easily rips. Also the zippers are junk and jam up too easy. Overall I tell my friends to stay away from this jacket until they revise the product all together.

Milwaukee Heated Jacket

This jacket is definitely high quality and even without being turned on, it insulates very well.Though I knew this prior to purchasing it, the battery is a little bulky (but it has to be so it can be used with tools) and the lights on the jacket cannot be turned off while continuing to use the heating option. I don’t always like to be easily spottable when I’m walking my dogs late at night but all in all it is a nice well made. jacket and I’m satisfied with my purchase.

Nice and warm without bulk
18 March 2019

It was very nice to have heat in the jacket when it was cold this winter. I don't work outside, so not sure how well it will work in this situation, but I was nice to wear going to and from work. The only problem is where the battery pocket is when driving. I ended up taking the battery out and sitting it on the seat while driving for comfort. I also don't care for the collar sticking up and touching my neck. jaw or cheek. It would be better if the collar laid down unless you zipped it up. Overall the warmth overrides the cons of this jacket. If the collar didn't bother me, I would have warn it more even without the battery/heater.

Okay but…
23 January 2021

Battery is in an uncomfortable position and have only a few hours on the higher setting. Also the sleeve got caught on something and tore the outside fabric. It is warm enough if worn under another jacket and likely would have prevented it tearing. I wouldn’t wear this to work if you do any heavy work but is fine while standing up or walking. I Don recommend you wear it while driving due to the uncomfortable battery placement. Great for a walk in cooler temperatures.

This thing works great! Don't get a larger fitting size, you need the elements to touch you to feel the warmth, and don't wear layers below it other than a light sweater or t-shirt. I'm 6' 175 lbs and I normally wear a medium and the medium almost feels a little large. I also bought an extension cable to hold the battery in my front pocket, because if sitting in a car with bolsters, the battery being in the back pocket will jab into your kidney, but the back pocket is great if standing and working, or sitting on bleachers. (Extension cable = 2.1mm x 5.5mm DC 12V Adapter Cable DC Plug Extension Cable Male to Female)

Very disappointed

I received this coat for my birthday and when I wore it the first time to work I noticed a rip in the fabric. Not on the seam but the actual fabric. I contacted Milwaukee customer service as my store was sold out thinking they'd be able to help me out. This is the response I received.Unfortunately, we are now sold out of the heated gear jackets for the season. We have 1 year warranties on our heated jackets but it is against manufacturing defects. Unfortunately, this would not be considered a manufacturing defect. However, it sounds like it could be a matter of sewing that piece back together. If so, and as funny as it sounds, you are welcome to find a seamstress that could do this job for you. We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you.Its clearly from a third party client center and really annoyed me as this coat was a day old. It also took 4 days to get a response. You can't sew torn fabric like this, but clearly they don't know the product. Luckily Home Depot customer service are five stars in Barrhaven and took the jacket back. They even held the gloves I left in the pocket that I forgot to take out. We ordered a new one online but I would not have reordered if I had seen this response. I won't be buying any Milwaukee tools in the future knowing this about their customer service.

Went from super ecstatic to highly disappointed in no time at all!

What I love about this jacket is that it’s light weight, doesn’t feel like I’m restricted from movement while wearing this jacket, and the warmth is great to although it would be nice if it had heat in the bottom portion as well. The reason I’m giving this jacket only two stars is because I purchased this one over the others due to the fact that it was lightweight for one….but mostly because of the supposed RIPSTOP technology. I assumed that it meant the fabric, although lightweight, would be durable enough to NOT RIP! I got this jacket last year and barely wore it because not long after getting it, the weather no longer gave me a need for it. I pull it out a week ago for the cold weather days and the first day I’m wearing it, I go into lowes with no rips or tears ... MoreWhat I love about this jacket is that it’s light weight, doesn’t feel like I’m restricted from movement while wearing this jacket, and the warmth is great to although it would be nice if it had heat in the bottom portion as well. I got this jacket last year and barely wore it because not long after getting it, the weather no longer gave me a need for it. I pull it out a week ago for the cold weather days and the first day I’m wearing it, I go into lowes with no rips or tears (I know this for a fact because my husband purchased this for me as a gift and I specifically remember standing in front of him before leaving the house and telling him how I had apparently lost weight since last year because my jacket is now a little loose vs last time I wore it) I was so proud of my gift from my husband and looking at every aspect of my jacket in admiration……so yeah no rips, no holes, brand new condition…..So I go into lowes, come outside, and the weather is much warmer, so I take the jacket off, fold it in half to lay in my backseat and almost wanted to cry because as I’m laying it in the seat, I see not one BUT THREE rips about 1/2” to 1.5” in size. I never rubbed up against anything in the store, or got snagged on anything so I have knowledge of how this occurred but more than anything was disappointed at how easily the rips got there. I could see if I was walking past something sharp and got stuff and tried to pull away but nope! I’m just very disappointed! I know it can be fixed (well maybe….the fabric is almost like a rain jacket fabric and it ripped through the cotton layer as well) but it’s just not the same! I was very proud of my jacket and now I’m just disappointed in the durability!

so-so jacket

I was excited to get this jacket but then quickly disappointed wearing it, after fulling charging the battery did not last much over 2 hours on Med. I tried it out again going to the store put it on high for about 10 minutes until my truck warmed up then, I kept it on low and was in the store just over an hour when we went outside I was going to put it on high again but the battery was already dead and I never realized it was off. On the low setting I really can not tell that its on. The jacket has some warmth to it without being on but not enough for cold days, I think the hooded sweatshirt would have been better because a hood is great if its raining or bitter cold and windy. I wore it to work today to test the battery again because my office is cold I tried low ... MoreI was excited to get this jacket but then quickly disappointed wearing it, after fulling charging the battery did not last much over 2 hours on Med. The jacket seams made well and is fashionable for a work jacket. the L fits snugly (5'4 150 lbs) as expected so could layer over it, but was hoping with the heater I would not need to.
