Fantastic, fun RPG that's great for kids, and the new Mii creation tool that the game includes is worth the price of admission, alone (and it's incredible what people have done with it, if you look around online). Just a lighthearted, cozy RPG experience that becomes even better when kids can put themselves and their favorite characters into the game -- Nintendo at their best.

This game is incredibly engaging. The story is fun, the characters are witty and charming, and RPG staples like turn-based combat, classes, and level-ups are all present. The battles are all enjoyable and rarely frustrating, and there is thankfully little to no need to grind for experience points. There's also plenty of treasure everywhere, with gold, equipment and food sometimes inside the chests found throughout the world. The amount of areas is also expansive, with a surprising amount of things to do and people to talk to. Additionally, the amiibo compatibility is used well, rewarding the player with either Game Tickets to play either a prize roulette or rock-paper-scissors or even costumes based on specific characters. Miitopia is a pretty fun RPG even though it's quite basic.Battles are turn-based and falls more inline with older RPG games. Meaning, you can control what your main character does, but not what your pals do. What your friends can do depends on the classes you choose for them and the personality you chose. Their personality traits show themselves in battle through quirks, both good and bad.Like Tomodachi Life, you're able to use your own Miis to stand in as the rest of the characters. This includes other Miis people have made and are shared online. This is possibly the most fun you're going to have with Miitopia. You can always change the roles as well, so don't feel like you're stuck with who you've chosen.Another part of this game is eating food. You can always change the roles as well, so don't feel like you're stuck with who you've chosen.Another part of this game is eating food. This seems to be taken from Tomodachi Life as well. At the end of every stage, your Miis rest at an inn where you can feed them. What they like and dislike is random. For example, you may find yourself bummed out that your mage doesn't like food that increases the Magic stat.Yet another feature that seems to be taken from Tomodachi Life is the friendship feature. As you and your pals spend time together during the evenings, as well as helping each other out in battle, your friendship level increases. This will unlock nifty bonuses that help a lot in battle. It might as well have been easier to say this is Tomodachi RPG. It's fun if you're not expecting much and don't need much out of an RPG to be entertained. However, if you're looking for something more complex (like me), you might be disappointed in your purchase. I still had fun with Miitopia, but I'm hard-pressed to finish the game because I feel I've seen everything it has to offer. The story isn't engaging enough (I've spoiled myself silly to write this review in good conscious) and the amount of battles between each story segment is long and repetitive with no real way to evade battles you don't want to fight. Miitopia is very "hands off"... like Tomodachi Life.I can't see myself recommending this to others. They might get bored faster than I did.

The faces of the Miis have been stolen and you need to help recover them. You can chose to keep the pre-generated characters or create your own. You will assign attributes to this characters personalities and can customize how they look. It’s an RPG lite still game. The concept seems cool, my children spent many hours creating custom mii characters. At ages 7 and 9, they both find the game engaging.
As somebody who does not typically play turn-based RPGs, Miitopia has been a very enjoyable one. If it were not for the character limit, I'd write an essay on what I love and dislike about this game. So I will do a list: Pros: - Adorable - Decent customization options for all but one character's faces (NPCs included!) - Banger soundtrack (especially the boss battle music) - Variety of classes (although they unlock as you progress) - Creative designs for enemies and many areas of the game - Decent and funny armor designs - Basic understanding of RPG elements without overwhelming the player (abilities, leveling up, relationship building with teammates, effects inflicted on by enemies, etc.) Cons: - Grinding. Do not play have anyone on the team play as the tank class. Thank me later.
Miitopia is a uniquely bizarre title that takes the standard RPG formula and makes it work for a new generation. It retains the standard HP, MP gameplay but much of your adventure focuses on team relationships with zany wacky scripting. In this single-player adventure, you and your Mii companions take on the Dark Lord to free the kingdom from his face stealing tyranny.Originally released on the 3DS in 2017 the game gets a new HD coat of paint as well as some new features. It deserves a second chance as well.
This isn't a perfect game. It's a light role player with very limited options and the ability to control the actions of only a single character. Your party only walks in a straight line, with only occasional paths for you to pick. Weapons and equipment are not so much purchased as upgraded, as you have to buy each version to unlock the next, and the upgrades don't make any sense. The 3-D is present, but very weak. So, why the five stars? It's all about the Miis. Creating an avatar of yourself and choosing three companions, who could be anyone you can imagine. You can go with people you know, characters from popular culture, celebrities, historical figures, or people you invent yourself. The list is limitless. Not in the creating mood? You can go with people you know, characters from popular culture, celebrities, historical figures, or people you invent yourself. The list is limitless. Not in the creating mood? There's always Mii Central, an online database where people post their own Miis for you to use at your pleasure. It also supplies the Miis which populate the towns and other minor characters (which you can change, should any prove not to your liking). Once you've chosen your team and cast the major roles (including the main bad guy), your set out on an adventure unlike any other. Where else can you watch your sister fall in love with Albert Einstein, see Han Solo and Doctor Who get jealous of each other, or the sight of Jesus Christ prancing around in a cat suit? If you weren't a fan of Tomodachi Life, you probably won't get much out of this, but for people like me who thoroughly enjoyed Tomodachi, this is the long-awaited (and probably only) follow up. Not sure if it's for you? Download and play through the demo. It's impressively long, and if, when you reach the end, you're itching for more, then this is for you.
I was one of the few who purchased miitopia the day it launched. And I have to say, it is one of the most fun games on my 3DS! Charming, addictive and fun would be the best way to describe this quirky Mii-centered RPG. I've heard comparisons to tomodachi life, another game I enjoyed previously, and while the charm and mii characters are pretty similar, I found miitopia overall a more fun experience. There are some mechanics I didn't like such as not being able to control anyone other than yourself, but over time I warmed up to practically every mechanic, and I found this game to be an absolute delight. To my surprise, I've easily packed 45+ hours into this game and I haven't completed the entire game yet. However, if you despise tomodachi life, the charm of the mii characters may not appeal to you. But should you buy? Absolutely.
Couldn't put down the demo.. and as much as I DID enjoy my time with it.. I figured the full game would be more or less the same exact thing.. NOPE! *There are still goodies in store* It kinda stinks that you don't get to control the other party members, making it feel repetitive at certain points. And It seems there's still so much more they could've added to it in terms of gameplay. But with all its quirks & charms, I still think I got my money's worth. The gameplay mechanics are simplified, A.I can be a little dopey which can be both hilarious & frustrating at times. Really, the main entertainment value stems from watching how your characters interact with one another during their journey, which can have an effect on gameplay. Also, the soundtrack is pretty phenomenal! - - - - *As with all other Mii titles, you'll get far more mileage out of it the more attached you are to your creations. Miitopia's Mii editor is closer to those found in Miitomo & Switch. When you're not in the creating mood, miis can easily be imported from your Tomodachi life & 3Ds' Mii maker saves, or simply search & download Miis from other players via wifi. - - - - When I first read on Miitopia, I wasn't sure what to expect, it's so unique that even now I wouldn't know how to explain it.. However, in the end... I'm happy with my purchase!. For those that love to create, collect, and don't mind random silliness, Miitopia deserves to be on your watch list!
I saw gameplay of Miitopia before deciding on purchasing it. It was so cute, and the fact you could put any Mii into any role lead to some hilarious results. Once recieving the game, I found out it could be just as hilarious in your own hands.Yes, the game is easy to play, but I never minded that aspect. I'm not one who plays games for the difficulty level, plus this makes it accessible to any age group. I've enjoyed this as an adult, and I know young kids would appreciate it too.The storyline is fun, has a few little twists and turns, and even keeps you from getting too over-leveled as you continue forward.
