Solid machine if you're willing to deal with some quirks.I've been using this machine for a while now and have put about 2kg of beans through it.Here's the bad:There's well-documented issues with stalling on cold-starts (beans in machine then pressing start) at espresso-fine grind levels even with higher RPM and the updated control board. This has happened twice, but it is easy to empty the machine thanks to the very user-friendly construction. The bellows and wooden cap it comes with don't stay on the machine very well. The grind setting collar (not the zero-point indicator collar) sometimes turns with the grind adjustment mechanism, which means you have to adjust with one hand on each, which might be more difficult for those with weak grips. Here's the ...Ā MoreSolid machine if you're willing to deal with some quirks.I've been using this machine for a while now and have put about 2kg of beans through it.Here's the bad:There's well-documented issues with stalling on cold-starts (beans in machine then pressing start) at espresso-fine grind levels even with higher RPM and the updated control board. When it is grinding the pitch and overall noise is not unbearable, but definitely not the "rumble" I would prefer.Overall grind quality/uniformity is great throughout the range (although i've only tried pourover with it a few times). All in, it's a solid machine. One star off (no option for half) because of the stalling issue. I also considered the Timemore sculptor and the Niche duo, but they are hard to obtain here.

DF64v has a built-in anti-popcorn funnel and it is a silent coffee grinder with a variable speed from 600 RPMs to 1800 RPMs. Lower RPMs reduce static electricity preventing grounds from clumping together and generate a more uniform particle size distribution. It supports all brewing methods for Turkish Coffee (5), Espresso (10-30), Moka Pot (35), Fine Filter (45), Chemex (55), Batch Brew (65), FrenshPress (70), and Cold Brewing (90). We love to dial in an espresso (10) using 1300 RPMs and pour over grinding (67) using 600 RPMs. In summary, DF64v is a great coffee grinder with unique design.

This is my first flat burr grinder. I did a ton of research to find the best fit for me. Something that is affordable and a great value, well built, espresso capable, easy to clean/swap burrs, great range of RPM, reasonably quiet, aesthetically pleasing, and (very important to me) has a small footprint.Boy, has this grinder aced everything I wanted and then some. The DF64V is at a great price for what you get. It feels very sturdy and thoughtfully designed. I love being able to disassemble the grind chamber without tools. It makes cleaning easy and actually enjoyable. The magnetic shoot is also just great design and makes for quick cleanups as well. The RPM selection is perfect for a wide range of experimentation. I got the V1 to get access to the 600 rpm, and Iāve had zero stalls so far. Even with some uber light roasts. On that note, the V1 doesnāt have the plasma generator. So, I use RDT on my beans and get very little static issues. No RDT does make for a lot of clinging though. The motor is whisper quiet. So quiet that I honestly wish there was an auto-off feature in case I think itās off and walk away for a bit. It does get a bit shrill when grinding, but what grinder is perfectly quiet as it does its job?I love the design and dark color of this grinder. I was pleasantly surprised how small it was once I took it out of the box. It fits my limited counter space better than I could have hoped. My one gripe is that the grind settings are hard to read on the back side of the machine. If you grind courser for pour overs like me, get ready to tilt and slide this grinder to check your setting a lot.I know some folks donāt like the wooden stand, but it doesnāt mess with my workflow. I actually love not having to slide a metal cup into a metal bracket. Subtle āgrindingā like that just bugs me. The wood is also just visually pleasing to me.As a bonus, working with MiiCoffee was a great experience. They shipped out my order super fast! I also happened to order an extra set of burrs that I had a change of heart on shortly after ordering. I explained this to the customer rep and they were extremely understanding and got me all set up for a reasonable return on that portion. Having patience and flexibility with customers goes a LONG way in my books. :)tldr; This is a wonderful grinder at a phenomenal price.

I was torn between the DF64 and DF64V, but ultimately chose the DF64V because of its appealing design. I've had it for three weeks now and use it daily. It typically grinds 18 grams in 10-15 seconds, and the bellows effectively minimize retention. The antistatic feature works great, which means almost no cleanup. For the price, I can't think of a better grinder.
Iām satisfied enough with the grinder that Iāll keep it, but there are some issues to be aware of if youāre considering buying.Pros- quiet motor (though kind of unpleasant sounding when coffee is being ground)- even and consistent grind- small footprint- Easy to disassembleCons- Retention is more than I expected. Removing the declumper helped a bit. I was hoping to use this grinder for both espresso and pour over, but with the retention issue, itāll be a dedicated espresso grinder instead to avoid cross-contamination.- Stalling issue. Even with the new board, the motor stalls when grinding at the lower settings. This happens even when I hot start with medium roast beans. Now I donāt go below 800 rpm and slow feed the beans.- A good amount of ...Ā MoreIām satisfied enough with the grinder that Iāll keep it, but there are some issues to be aware of if youāre considering buying.Pros- quiet motor (though kind of unpleasant sounding when coffee is being ground)- even and consistent grind- small footprint- Easy to disassembleCons- Retention is more than I expected. I purchased the DF64V to replace my K-Max hand grinder. The DF is a wonderful grinder with almost no retention when using a little RDT. I have had it stall at 600 rpm with light roasts even when slow feeding so I always grind at 800 for pour overs. I understand that the new model coming out starts the rpm at 800 anyway. No problem there. The consistency of the grind seems amazing. Itās almost totally quiet when running (until itās grinding of course. The magnetic shute is fantastic. Very happy
I love my DF 64V!Before this I had a DF 64 ver.4, very good grinder. Decided to upgrade because I love flexibility and options. This new grinder gives me 13 new taste profiles just by simply turning one knob and changing the speed of the grinder. Highly recommend for people that like to experiment with their espresso. If you are one of the people that never gets their espresso just right buy this grinder and try different speeds, you will be pleasantly surprised! Also, gotta give a shout out to the MiiCoffee company for fast service and literally same day response. All my issues and requests were addressed in an expedited manner. Special thanks to Luke.
I came from the DF64. The DF64 has lots of flaws, being the first generation, like the chute has a lot of dead space for the coffee ground to stick on. Has lots of static, the collar being the grind level adjustment is very annoying to use. With the DF64V, all the mentioned issued are fixed and dialing coffee is a breeze. I only have the DF64V for just under a month now and it is so easy to work with and produce a great cup or coffee. I can't compare the taste of espresso because I also pair it with an upgraded espresso machine.
Things I don't like - nothing really. Supposed noisiness when grinding is a non-issue in my opinion, certainly nothing objectionable. It is heavy and solid. This particular one was a open-box returned item, but with a new warranty and really nothing to suggest it was anything but new really. It takes a while to dial it to whatever bean you are using but once you do you are set. The removeable spout which can be snapped to clear the chute along with the bellows feature results in virtually no retention when using RDT, and not bad without using the water spray. It is simple, compact, and frankly I love it. I use it almost exclusively for espresso at either 1200 or 1400 rpms with the standard burrs and see no need really to upgrade to the SSP burr set. I have used it once at the 90 grind setting to make drip brew for cold coffee and that worked great. For espresso, I use 19-25 but it depends on what beans I am using. Coming from a 12 year old Lelit conincal grinder with a ton of retention and a bean hopper, this is a pleasant switch for me. Thankful for the open box option.
In the age where multiple vendors carry the same or similar products, customer service often counts more than āwho has the best priceā or āwho ships fastestā. Luke and MII Coffee are committed to customer service and will go the extra mile to ensure their customerās satisfaction. This brings a sense of equanimity when we order from a trustworthy vendor (MII Coffee). I can whole heartedly recommend MII Coffee to back the products they sell and insure a pleasant customer experience along the way. (Think 185/04 Pour-over, French, Cold Brew, and Drip coffee makers requiring 60+ grams per go) [The grinder rocks at the fine settings but may present challenges to get coarse enough for Cold Brew.] Ningbo Frigga loses a half a star for releasing the grinder prior to working out logic board issues to insure proper function of the motor under all rpmās and bean densities and gains back a very bright half star for attending to customer feedback and incorporating their feedback into their next production run. And, a big kudo (and a half star bump) to all their vendors and technicians that have sought to address any dissatisfactions and discontents with on the ground remedies. That said, the build quality, esthetics, and form (tiny next to the D64], place the DF64v in a unique place in the market that is hard to match at its price point.
