Microsoft Surface Laptop 3, 15" PixelSense Touchscreen Laptop, Ryzen 5-3580U, 8GB RAM, 128GB SSD, Windows 10 Home - Platinum [RWH-00013]

Had to replace my previous laptop in a hurry (burglary). Good price, good features and function. Lightweight, very portable. Seems to do all I expect in a breeze. Love the startup. Press the on button, to fully on, in a matter of seconds. Only down side is the minimal connections (one USB-C, one USB) so had to buy a couple of devices to get around that. otherwise very happy.

Excellent laptop

I'm delighted with my new laptop. It's compact, lightweight and fast. I was looking for a portable laptop which wasn't going to compromise on quality and this one certainly delivers. It's my first Microsoft laptop and I'm very impressed with the functionality. Setup was very easy and the whole experience has been trouble free, just as it should be. The John Lewis 3 year warranty allowed me to buy with confidence.

Excellent mid range laptop

Recently upgraded my laptop and I've not been disappointed. It's a great bit of kit - does everything I need quickly and I bought the version with a larger hard drive to try to future proof this as I have a lot of photos. The additional warranty you get from purchasing from John Lewis is a big bonus. Would definitely recommend.

Good school laptop

Purchased for my daughter who needed new laptop for senior school. She chose based on the colour. After a week of use, the light weight in her school bag combined with being able to keep up with loading graphics in class has made her really happy. Only downside is that it does overheat very quickly even when using on a school desk. She now carries a cooling pad in her schoolbag.

Great business laptop

This is a fantastic laptop for business use. This particular user wanted a larger screen so I went with the 15. The display is fantastic and it's fairly lightweight. I've been buying Surface laptops for our team for several years now and they've been super reliable. Many of our team travel weekly and these computers have held up well.

Ideal small laptop 8/256

Ideal small laptop with a spec suitable for the majority of uses that an i5 and integrated graphics can cope with. High quality build and looks more expensive than it is. If it had a backlit keyboard and a few more ports it would the perfect device but then it wouldn't be such a small inexpensive computer!

Pros: Correct size , very good screen and technical characteristics, if a little pricy. Very good sperformance, bright enough sceen and credibility so far.Cons: It needs a kind of overhang or indentation at the opening end on either side of the screen lid so that it can mark both the orientation of the device and secure that it will be opened in the correct way and thus avoid accidents that could damage the device. I think it is a major flaw concerning the viability of the device. Also a backlit or otherwise illuminated keyboard would make it easier to use.

Perfect for my work needs

The company I work for requires a Windows computer, the software doesn't work on a Mac. When I first started I bought a very inexpensive laptop for what I thought would be the 2 or 3 days a year I'd work from home. And it was good enough for a couple of days a year. Little did I know I'd end up working from home permanently. Eventually that cheap laptop's shortcomings became too much. Slow performance, laggy cursor, unimpressive screen, etc. So I decided to invest in a new, better, laptop. This 15" Surface Laptop 5 ticked all the boxes for me. My needs are not extreme. Real customer, real real review

I love this laptop, the shipping was fast and I received it earlier than expected. I needed a new laptop for school because my old one wasn’t compatible when I say it’s perfect for everything. Also it’s touchscreen which I didn’t know until I ordered it. The design is cute and it’s not too big or too small. Will purchase again if I have to.

Surface 5 Disappointing

I purchased the Microsoft Surface 5 15" and returned it after 1 week. I wanted to upgrade from my Microsoft Surface Book to a newer Surface model. However, after using the Surface 5, I was very disappointed. I liked the bigger display, but the quality of the graphics and fonts were extremely poor quality. I could never get the fonts to be readable. The fonts were very blurry, which I could not improve with the Adjust Cleartype Text. The movie quality was grainy also. I returned this Surface, and upgraded to the Microsoft Surface Studio 14.4". So far, I LOVE the Surface Studio!! It has the most comfortable keyboard that I've ever used, and the quality of the fonts and movies is excellent! I love the way you can easily convert the laptop into a tablet!
