Metal Gear Solid 2 Substance
Metal Gear Solid 2 Substance features the same ground breaking stealth-based action of its predecessor, with players guiding a series of characters through key terrorist situations. The new game marks series' hero Solid Snake's first appearance for Xbox, while PlayStation 2 owners will delight in Metal Gear Solid 2 Substance's five new `Snake Tales' that complement the main objectives, with Solid Snake despatched on a series of stand alone missions. Supplementing the twisting plot and new `Snake Tales' are over 200 new VR missions. Acting as tests of skill, these remove the game's central heroes from the front line and place them in a series of fiendish virtual reality environments where logic and reality can be altered to create the ultimate tests of endurance.

I will be getting this day one of release and have spent literally 2 hours playing the tiny demo released on the estore a few weeks ago. It took me about 1 hour to become completely comfortable with the controls ( Im using the Circle Pad Pro which is flippen awesome, especially for Resident Evil revelations which I highly recommend ) and while aiming was touchy at first, it became much more enjoyable after sinking 1 hour into it to adjust to the controls. The 3d effect is superb and anyone trashing the graphics can go get the HD version and be tethered to the house/couch. I can vouch for the graphics in this iteration as being better than the PS2 copy I clocked 7 years ago. Dont be an idiot and miss out on this because some people rant on about the HD version being ... MoreI will be getting this day one of release and have spent literally 2 hours playing the tiny demo released on the estore a few weeks ago. Its not, it different and who gives a rats about MGS2 or peace walker for PSP- Not me, MGS3 is the best and always will be. Sorry Kojima but the best has come and gone.I repeat I Will be getting this Day one. Money very well spent based on my time with the short but fantastic Demo.

The story is great and the gameplay is fun and compelling. It has great replay value so its perfect if youre looking for a game to get a lot of hours out of. Overall I very much recommend this game, but I would recommend at least playing MGS1 & 2 before playing this one

Nice job and thank you Hideo Kojima! This game is the prequel of the whole mgs trilogy so play this first. The product: Came in great condition and the case was in good condition too it just has like 20 stickers everywhere. Other than that its a great product and great deal. The game: Play this one before you play any other Metal gear solid games. Subsistence is an improved version of snake eater with user controlled camera. The graphics are beautiful, probably the best on the console! The stories compelling and as good as any other Hideo Kojima game, so in conclusion this is a great game and I recommend it especially if youve played mgs 1, 3 or any of the original metal gear games on the nes.
Metal Gear Solid 2 rules. Konami has down it again. It has some of the same classic characters like Snake, Otacon, and Shalashaska(Ocelot Revolver). My only complaint is that you have to play half of the game as Jack Raiden. He looks just like a girl. I will always prefer Snake over the new guy... or girl, whatever Raiden is. I don't think this game is as long as the other one, but its still long. I am a hardcore gamer, and can usually beat a game within 3 days to 2 weeks. This game took me a little under a month. This game is cool but I prefer the first MGS, reguardless to its animation and graphics. Still this game is right up there with SOCOM, Halo, and Star Wars KOTOR. I wish they would make movie about MGS. And a reminder to all fans of mgs, MGS3 Snake Eater is ... MoreMetal Gear Solid 2 rules. Konami has down it again. One of the best games on PS2 Format. MGS3 recalls the story of Big Boss, Father of Solid Snake (from the previous installments of this series). The story is set in the 1960's, where Naked Snake (AKA Big Boss) sets off in the jungle to infiltrate and disable Russian assets during the cold war. PROS: Beautiful PS2 Graphics and awesome soundtrack Enticing Story, hours of gameplay Ingenious use of camouflage and Jungle survival tactics Enormous quantity of secrets and Easter eggs Real-life weapons and specs Fine tuned game with NO BUGS or GLITCHES Near-limitless possibilities for your course of actions. CONS: May be a bit complex to understand if you have not played MSG1 and MSG2 Historical cues can be hard to understand for younger gamers Game story is a bit linear ... MoreOne of the best games on PS2 Format. CONCLUSION: Definitely buy this game. It's completely re-playable, versatile, interesting. Many secrets are scattered throughout the game. THIS GAME CONTAINS SO MANY SECRETS THAT THE OFFICIAL STRATEGY GUIDE MISSED A FEW OF THEM.
The game is fantastic, still to this day. The package came complete and the disc was pristine, not a single scratch or smudge. Many relived memories. Thank you DKOLDIES!
This is one of my favorite games of all time. As is with everything I've ordered from DKoldies, it was in very nice condition (seriously, I've been getting a ton of stuff from here lately and they've all been in surprisingly good shape). If you haven't played this game, your doing yourself a major disservice! BUY IT AND PLAY IT NOW! If you don't have a PS2, get one. You could also get the hd version on something else I guess, but it's kinda jank without the pressure sensitivity.
The turnaround time was excellent! Came in roughly 2-3 days and was packaged better then I had expected. The disk needed a little clean of as there were a couple of marks and some gunk but overall very well kept. Manuel had no fold or tears which was very nice to see and the case had no cracks which was a very pleasant sight to see.
When I had this shipped to me I had my doubts. The series had managed to maintain a very distinct industrial style over the past two games and it knew how to pull it off and I didn't know quite how the game would work in a jungle setting, especially considering the technology of the time. But It seems I was foolish to doubt the great and powerful Kojima, this game rocks. Proving that the PS2 still has an amazing amount of power and versatility behind it, this game (visually speaking) rivals many of the early 7th generation titles and certainly stands by itself as one of the best stealth/action games I've ever played. I wouldn't even suggest you need to be a fan of the series to pick this up, but you'll still want to play the rest of the games along with it. ... MoreWhen I had this shipped to me I had my doubts. Memorable characters, memorable scenes, fun gadgets and weapons, unbelievably re-playable with months of excruciating detail going into what could easily be a contender for the best PS2 title ever released, possibly even best game released. AND! As an added bonus, with this release you finally get the opportunity to play the original Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 games initially released on the MSX2. This version of the game also features a fix to arguably the game's greatest fault, the camera. In this release you now have access to a third person camera which players of modern third person shooters should feel fairly at home with. Of course I can't vouch for the online portion of the game since the servers went down over hear in 2007, but from what I hear it was quite good and it's always nice to have the disk from a collector's standpoint. As the title says, you owe it to yourself to experience this game.
