I recently purchased a pair of Moab 3 Mid GORE-TEX® boots for a trip to the UK, France, Belgium and Germany. Anyone that has travel Europe extensively knows the roadways and walkways are frequently cobble stone based or other materials that make walking somewhat difficult and hazardous at times. I had about two weeks of everyday wear to break them in prior to my departure so I was a bit concerned that I might experience discomfort from wearing a new boot for the 28 day trip. After weeks of walking tours, trail hiking in some rainy conditions I am pleased to report that they were the most comfortable boots that I have ever owned. The appearance of the boot was like new after travelling through some difficult and wet weather. I’m really impressed with the new Moab’s. I had an old pair for the last ten years and needed to update. To start with the entry and exit is so easy. Always a struggle with mid and high boots, but these are so easy and natural.The greatest thing about the Moab’s is that they are so comfortable to wear all day and yet great for hiking. I finally got in a rocky hike last week. I found the new Moab’s to be a big improvement over the old ones. The soles were supportive, comfortable and I didn’t feel the rocks through them like my old ones. Also great traction uphill and down with no slipping. Very confident all around.Very happy I got these and would give a high recommendation to anyone.

Got these to replace my well worn, all weather, dog walking shoes. I purchased the same in the mid boot a couple of months ago.Sheer comfort and support. No need to break these shoes in, comfy straight off as were the boots.I have a wide foot and take a size 7. I went up half a size in both, great fit. Good arch support. Plenty of room for thick socks. Love the choice of colours in the shoe.Great price, fast delivery. Hope they never change or stop making these, makes such a difference having comfy feet. Not been in heavy rain yet but should be ok being Gor-tex.

I got these boots as a Christmas gift. It's been cold, so I have only taken them out twice since then. They're already coming apart at the sole, and today both laces finally snapped in half (which made the hike back to my car rather miserable). I've never had an issue with Merrell before, and I've been buying hiking boots from them for over a decade now. But these are garbage. I'm extremely upset that my siblings paid so much for these. They've seen maybe 10 miles total and are in bad shape. I've done nothing different from how I normally hike. I've had Merrell boots go hundreds of miles before showing signs of wear. Not sure if the company has gone downhill or I just got a crappy pair, but it's bad enough that I'm considering switching to a different company for ... MoreI got these boots as a Christmas gift. These were purchased primarily for work, where work is mountain maintenance - dirt trails, erosion ditches, single-track courses, water run-off systems, rocky scrambles - I get through it all in a day. I get a lot of all-weather exposure, too; and sometimes it feels like I see all four seasons in 24 hours. But I'm putting in miles on pavement, mountainside, and at the office for the last few weeks and man, I love these boots. Lifelong wearer of Chameleons and thought I would give these a try. Comfortable out of the box, true to size and look good, but every step I take is accompanied by a noticeable "Thwup" sound coming from the front of the left shoe. The sound seems to come from the fabric at the top of the toe box springing back into shape after being bent when taking a step. I disproved the theory if the sound coming from the insoles by powdering, and then replacing them with a gel insole, but the sound remains. If you bend the shoe by hand, you can hear it from the toe box. My hope is that it will go away after time, but another review I saw said that they still got the sound after a couple of months of wear. I just received my Moab 3 Gore-Tex a few days ago. Ordering was easy and my package was sent out/received quickly. I purchased 2 pairs in the same size and in the colors: Sedona Sage and Laurel. Sedona Sage is more of a gray in color. Laurel is as pictured, imo. Out of the box they feel true to size for the size 8.5 that I ordered. I'm a true 7.5 however in the Moab I've always sized up to 8.5 since purchasing the Merrell "Capra" style. For me... one size up fits best with my Smartwool Maximum Crew, Performance or Trail Sox. I cannot yet comment on how the Moab 3 Gore-Tex will perform. My Capras were going strong for 7 years and went on many outdoor adventures camping, hiking and daily use in the tropical climate I live in. These are pretty... but durability TBD. Purchased these and used them for the first time for exploring Carlsbad Caverns in NM and couldn’t be happier! Hiked over 6 miles in the caverns that day and absolutely no blisters or sore areas on my feet or ankles whatsoever! This is huge for me especially with new boots…needed no breaking in time! Very happy and pleased with my purchase…performed awesomely! It was cool in the caverns (50’s) but my feet stayed warm without sweating…my feet and ankles were not even feeling tired at the end of the day! Thank you Merrell for creating a boot that is comfortable, tough & cool to look at too! Performance is key but I wanted a boot that was stylish as well and I think you achieved that! 👍🏻 I purchased the red, tan & black color! Love them!
This is my 3rd paid of Merrell mid-hiking boots. I currently have 2 pair of Moab 2 mid boots, waterproof and non-waterproof, and I alternate wearing them depending on the weather and time of year. I purchased the Merrell Moab 3 Mid Gor-Tex for better waterproofing. While the construction of the boot is excellent, I find that the boot length is slightly smaller than the Moab 2. The bigger issue I have found is the comfort of this boot. My other Merrells were comfortable out of the box. I can and do wear them all day with any issues, not so with the Moab 3. I have been breaking them in over the past few weeks and they are still somewhat uncomfortable. Great boots. So comfy out of the box. Lovely colour and not too heavy. Keep feet warm and dry. Downside is that grip on pavement/slush not the best. These are my third pair of Merrells. I have had a different style previously. They tend to last me around 18 months before developing a split in the seam and water ingress. I do put in the miles though dog walking 3 times a day. Hoping these boots have a bit better longevity than previous merrells. All in all a really comfortable boot and would highly recommend for trail walking
