This is by far the best meat thermometer on the market. We have the single Meater Plus and the block of 4. They all work very well. The Plus model gives you more wifi range. If you're running out of battery, you need to check that the end of the probe is really clean and shiny, otherwise it won't charge due to lack of contact from cooking grease etc. I was caught out like that once, but it's an easy fix when you google it (common cause). You just have to clean it properly before placing back in the block, like anything with electrical contacts. We are meat enthusiasts and couldn't be happier with the probes and the App. Have been using for the past 10 years and never had an issue. They all work brilliantly. It's been an expensive toy that I've had no success with.I realise it is out of warranty but even so, something of this supposed high quality should last longer than a couple of years. It stings even more to hear of people buying cheapies from other stores that have never failed.

I was hesitant to buy this because of the price and already having a smoker with temperature probes but since I needed a new probe for the Nomad I went with the Meater. This thing is awesome. Not only does it tell me when the meat is done, it gives an estimated time to completion (which my wife is always asking so she knows when to start the sides). It tells me the ambient temperature where the meat is sitting for accurate offset cooking and smoking. It also helps with the temperature balance adjustment on my smoker. The app has predefined cooks or you can program your own. The only suggestions I would have for Meater is to make these in various sizes for thinner cuts of meat and add wifi to the box so I don’t need multiple devices to cloud connect to the probe.

Great concept however very disappointing that the phone needs to be directly next to webber for signal not to drop out when cooking with the webber lid on. Really disappointed with the lack of range when it advertises 50m range, we can't even get 1 metre away with lid on webber. It works well as far as assisting with cooking meat perfectly but the extra money for better Bluetooth range is a rort. Guttered it doesn't live up to what it says it will do for $200 i expected alot more. Pointless having a wireless probe when phone has to be directly next to webber anyway, so close I'm worried about heat damage to phone just so signal won't drop out. My wired thermometer for under a $100 works just as well just doesn't tell you approx cooking time. I have used my Meater thermometer for about 6 months now. The idea of having an accurate remote thermometer which could help keep track of my cook when I was away from the grill seemed great.In practice I find the range of the thing to be far less the extended range claimed by Meater. Even if I just go upstairs in my house, connection is poor and constantly drops, which is nowhere near 50m!The charging is also sporadic. Even when I thoroughly clean the probe it doesn’t seem to always charge. Because there is no charging light you can be never be sure the thing is actually charging. I like the easy connection to the app, the easy set up for cook temps but overall I’m disappointed in the MEATER.After a near disaster with the Christmas turkey being completely over cooked, I reached out to MEATER. The internal temp was off somewhat compared to my trusty instant read thermometer. The ambient temp was off by 120 degrees! They responded, but with statements that led me to believe I could l cannot/should not trust the ambient temp, (which is used to calculate cook time), because it is sensitive to microclimates in the oven. So that’s not a useful or helpful feature.I was also informed that the sensor in the probe is not at the tip but rather part way up. Then put back in to its wooden charging dock that also seconds as a Bluetooth extender.Overall I’m super happy with this product and would definitely recommend if you can afford the product go for it you won’t regret it.

Yes, reallythe box kept near to the bbq acts as a repeater and I can see whats going on- inner meat cooking temp and ambient bbq temperature itself around my house . Further if I use it on Wi-Fi. I never and when I say never I mean never write reviews, however, I felt like this product needed one from me. I picked up this product from the store today and used it this evening on an extra thick cut ribeye. I inserted the MEATER Plus into the steak after searing it on a skillet and into the oven to finish cooking it. It performed very well in the oven. An added bonus is the MEATER phone app. It kept a real time widget on my phone’s Lock Screen for easy monitoring. Highly recommend this product and may replace my other wired probes thermometers.
