Mario Badescu - Drying Mask - For All Skin Types (59ml/2oz)

I absolutely can't get enough of this stuff! This drying lotion effectively targets my moderate/hormonal acne and whiteheads. It has a strong scent at first but the scent does dissipate in a few minutes after application. I will use this either everyday or every other day depending on how my skin is looking like. Even if I see a small bump that will eventually become a pimple, I will even dot that with a q-tip. Sometimes, but rarely, I will have a pimple on my chest even and I apply the lotion onto my chest without a problem. Although there is a separation in formula between the clear liquid and the pink sediment, do NOT shake. Personally, I don't find that this drying lotion dries out my face too much being that this product has a heavy content of salicylic acid and calamine. Moreover, if I find that I apply this drying lotion for several consecutive days, I will stop the use for a few nights to moisturize with a serum and night cream, and I find that I don't have problems restoring my skin's moisture. I also don't experience a weird breakout after a pause of application this drying lotion. Overall, phenomenal product.

I like this, im glad I tried it but I won't be repurchase it. Im just not really impressed with this brand as a whole and I think they charge to much for what they are. But opinions aside, here is how it performs. This smells horrible im not normally a stickler for scent but this is so bad. I first used this for after cleansing and I kept it on for 20 minutes. When I took it off my skin just felt a bit dry so I hurried to finish my routine. When I woke up the next morning I noticed my face was extremely dry and when I looked in the mirror I had little red spots all over my face. I wanted for a couple weeks before trying it again and this time I just spot treated in problems areas which is more my T-zone. I'm not one to typically give out reviews but this one is a must! I remember getting a sample a long time ago and it has helped bring down the redness and swelling of new pimples. Since I turned 30 and work stress has added up my acne has been out of control. For the last month or so I had tried everything under the sun! I was so embarrassed about it that I didn't want anyone to see me without my mask! I literally had 3 days for my friends wedding and I had huge red under my skin pimples that were painful to see and feel. This little mask nightly did all the wonders! I am so happy I remembered about this mask! It has truly been a miracle!

If you hate the smell...

... then you've obviously never been to a sulfur spring and done a sulfur bath. They smell HORRIBLE. But when you get out, your skin feels AMAZING. Yes, this mask smells like a smoky hotel room but that is a GOOD thing. Real sulfur smells terrible. Do not let it deter you, this mask is great AND it is a great spot treatment.

Love this product. Also order and use the Enzyme mask. My last order was very liquify and unlike a cream consistency. Have to use my finger to stir attempting a more solid solution to apply on my face. Tried placing it in the fridge for a night… to no avail. Returned to the liquid state in a few hours. But, I’m still using it !

Unfortunately, I had to remove the mask after less than 5 minutes. I suffer from chronic migraines and smell is one of my triggers. I ended up taking my migraine meds because it threw me into a migraine from the smell. I compare it to an ashtray full of cigarette ashes. It was terrible. I am so happy I got this as a sample. I would have been very disappointed had I paid full price. I would recommend you try a sample first. (one star was the lowest option for rating)

Not my favorite

I used the special mask for oily skin for a year and loved it. When I went to repurchase all they had was this Drying mask. It smells like gasoline. I couldn't breathe until it dried and even then the smell was so strong. No way could I leave it on for 20 minutes. So disappointed. Use many of this skin care products.

On My Third Jar!

I first tried this in a giftset I got for Christmas, and fell in love with it. I have very oily skin, particularly my nose and chin, and I was just using it on those areas, but once 2020 happened I started using it everywhere my mask touched, and it is a literal godsend, no mascne, no oiliness, just soft clean skin!!a few notes:-the smell is STRONG. I've fallen asleep with it on and woken up bump free! probably not the best practice for sensitive skin though.-use an applicator! this stuff is so hard to get out from under your fingernails, it'll look like you were playing in cement or digging through ashes.-its also pretty hard to wash off of your face, I always have to follow up with make up remover! this mask is not a quick morning routine kind of product, there's a process in using it but it's worth the time and hassle, I promise!

Let me start by saying, as other reviewers have said, it smells terrible - like old moth balls and burning rubber - but it works. When I get a breakout (usually hormonal or from eating a good that doesn't agree with my skin) I dab this on, wait 20 min, rinse, and by the next morning redness and swelling are cut in half. This mask is SUPER drying (hence the name) so I'd recommend only spot treating areas where you have a breakout - I like to apply another clay mask to the rest of my skin. Also, a good moisturizer after the fact is a must! Worst Smelling Product I've Ever Used

Let me start by saying I've used sulfur products in the past. They smell bad but whatever, it rinses off and if the product works, it's worth it.I bought this for my oily T-zone. I wake up in the morning with oil dripping off my face basically, that's how oily I get sometimes. I also get black heads on my nose. When you open this jar the smell hits you so hard my stomach did a flip. It doesn't smell like sulfur, it smells like rusty gasoline. I had to turn a fan on my face the whole time it was on my nose and forehead to keep the fumes away so I wouldn't puke. When I rinsed it off, that's where the sulfur came in. It left a super powdery, strange feeling residue and I had to rewash my face.
