This tripod never really held much when it was working. Recently I wanted to do some cooking videos and use my RX100 with it which it should hold. Well, soon as I pushed the release button the other side of the plastic exploded with a spring coming out. After several exchanges with Manfrotto support it was clear they weren't going to do anything... I realize this is only a 20 dollar item but this kind of relationship with customers would lead me to never purchase their products again or recommend them to my students.

It definitely depends on what you are doing. What you are shooting with, the surface it's sitting on, and whether or not you're using an extension with it. By itself with a small point and shoot, micro 4/3, or GoPro type camera I'm sure it would be great. Attach a selfie stick to it for extension and things change quite a bit. The base although small is too light and with wind it will tip over with the extension attached. I'm a property virtual tour creator and tried to use it with a 360 camera and found getting things perfectly level nearly impossible. Not a bad tool, just the wrong tool in my case. Smaller and lighter is not always better. Good for average recreational use though.

Mini tripod is nice but ball mount is very loose, even with a small camera, it just flops over. Maybe this batch got banged up or these are the made in China versions. Doesn't seem to be any adjustable screws to tighten. I had to disassemble everything and insert a piece of a sanding pad around the ball to keep it firm. We'll see how it holds up.

Small & well built
6 April 2022

Small & well built. Legs do not telescope out which would make it less stable. It should easily hold a mirrorless camera that is on the smaller size like an Olympus EM1 III or the new OM 1 with a normal lens attached like a 12-40mm or similar. The extra attachments for a GoPro or cell phone are nice additions and add to the flexibility of this small tripod. When the legs are pulled together they become the shape of a handle that could be used for taking videos. The push button on the side releases the ball head so it can be moved in different angles. When the button is released the ball head is locked into place much more firmly than other small tripods I have owned. Considering its' size I think it is rather robust in its' construction and ability to stay stable.

Solid piece of gear
2 July 2023

This lightweight Manfrotto mini tripod is just right for my small LUMIX travel camera. My main use will be for taking group photos where I need to compose the shot and then set the timer so I can also be in the shot. As others have said, the ball head has a limited range of motion in altitude beyond horizontal, but that doesn't affect my needs. But the ball itself has some small latitudinal grooves that provide a very solid footing for wherever you position the camera.

The only mini tripod youll ever need
19 October 2020

This product is exactly what its meant for. Minimal phone tripod built with quality and you can take anywhere. The partial rubber on the hand grip is a great touch and makes it comfortable to hold. Also the fact that the handle closes in together for a sleek and flush look helps with gripping it even better. The phone clip is sturdy allowing vertical or horizontal shooting, with the option to add a light or mic. Also comes with a piece allowing you to attach a action camera if you wanted. Also you can even add a Manfrotto mono pod to your tripod if you wanted. Which makes this very modular. This is probably the only tripod youll ever need really! I definitely love this.

Works Great!

It's stability also the build is great, the flexibility on the sphere also the adjustment on 3 legged stand could use some additional modifications.Sphere: pressing the tab to unlock the sphere for movement, it's slides back and forth roughly, feels like it can use lubricant for a smoother adjustment, I reframe from adding any type chemical for I don't know if it might ruin it. This sphere I am referring to is what moves your video view to shoot or record in a 360 degree angle.3 Leg Stand: it's very sturdy and I love it, once open to hold your device it adjust to only one level. Be nice if it can have maybe at least 3 adjustments from when you unfold it's legs.Overall I am using this without complications, it's very sturdy and does it's purpose, price is worth ...Β MoreIt's stability also the build is great, the flexibility on the sphere also the adjustment on 3 legged stand could use some additional modifications.Sphere: pressing the tab to unlock the sphere for movement, it's slides back and forth roughly, feels like it can use lubricant for a smoother adjustment, I reframe from adding any type chemical for I don't know if it might ruin it. [Rewarded Review] Nifty little tripod
24 October 2024

This is a nifty little tripod for table top use. Handy for anything from a simple internet cam, boom mic, or even something as large as a Nikon Z8. The ball head lock is not the easiest design for precision placement, but otherwise it is great.

[Rewarded Review] These are really cool
14 April 2024

I love these little tripods. With the legs folded in, they are compact, and almost form an ergonomic handle that can be useful for hand held video. The little ball top gets you a reasonable variety of angles, and the mechanism holds firm when the button is depressed. Unless you're trying to balance a medium format Mamya, they'll hold your camera securely, even when tilted. After months of use, the legs can get a little loose, but fear not, a simple torque screw allows you to make them tight and firm again. I like that a high end manufacturer also offers affordable little helpers like these that are well thought out and don't break the bank.
