A little pricey perhaps compared to some other brands, but definitely worth it.Vibrations are kept to a minimum and it's cordless nature offers great flexibility. I mainly wanted it for the low noise/lack of vibration, and I was not disappointed. The Makita quality is there. this is a brilliant piece of kitThere are cheaper options out there, but none that offer this ease of use and vibration-less quality

i bought this as my existing multi tool DTM50 died.. Love the new easy change blades , easy to use and with the market catching up with the star-lock system , blades are available cheaper . The new anti vibration system is amazing as is the reduced noiseif you can, buy this to replace your multi tool when required .

The head on this machine is far too big for my.line of work. I need to get close to edges and sometimes passed certain edges with a wide blade so the large head is not good for me. The balance is off wanting to raise the cutting blade from the cutting line. It would be a good tool if you do not need to be very accurate with your cutting like i do

This multi tool is so much better than previous one which was stolen. Excellent service , phoned me to let me know the one in stock was not there and would I mind waiting for new stock , I had no problem waiting thought it might be a few weeks but no new stock less than a couple of days and had new one in a week . Can’t fault! this is a superb company to deal with
I have considered buying a multi tool for some time but did not think I would get that much use out of it. I now wonder why I did not buy one earlier. The sanding attachment is outstanding the cutting ability is excellent with the right blades. I really like the starlock system, attachments are more expensive but it is very easy to change tools. The unit is well balanced and vibration control is surprisingly good. I have two batteries which I needed to sand down two window cills to bare wood which I thought was fairly good. The power of the unit is excellent this is something I was concerned about as friends have previously advised me to get a corded unit. The flexibility of being cordless and a having a brushless motor sold me on this unit. I have researched the best units and Makita come out top. I have a few brushless Makita tools and I rate them all as excellent, the batteries are expensive but they seem to last. I would 100% recommend this unit.
Makita has created a great Multi Tool, they have included all the features that you need to make working easier. No tool blade change. Can use different types of tool blades. Tool is comfortable to use and is vibration free. A good addition to my tool kit
I have been using one of these for about 8 months now and was excited when I saw it's release because I have bad blood circulation in hands so highly appreciate the reduction in HAV. I have also found that because there is much less vibration in the body of the tool it vastly improves the control you have over it making it easier to do finer work. The blade costcan be high and also it is a bit chunky at the top end. The chunky top end in fairness has not yet stopped me being able to do anything I want to do with it and I have found that you can get blades at a closer price to the more basic ones if you shop around. The star lock is one of the things that improves the vibration reduction and tool control so should be respected. The star lock is one of the things that improves the vibration reduction and tool control so should be respected. This is a professional grade tool that is well worth the money if you're going to use it regularly or for very fine work. It has better control and less vibration than any other multi tool I have used and I have used many.
Quietist multi-tool I have used with hardly any vibration. Also cuts through materials easier than the previous multi-tools I have used. However, depending on what you are cutting some Starlock blades can be more expensive than standard multi-tool blades. But the tool i cannot fault
Much improved from previous model. Felt lighter and more accurate due to lack of heavy vibration and the light made a difference when cutting in a tight space. Unable to compare battery life yet (fitted BL1850) as not used enough but sure will be better as brushless. Really pleased with purchase. Just need the prices of Starlock blades to come down in price.
I have other Makita power tools, so in choosing a multi-tool it made sense to look for a Makita. Multi-tool reviews recommended the DTM52Z as light and comfortable in use, quality and ease of changing blades/pads etc... I can confidently say that the reviews are right, it's a great product, a lot lighter than it looks, good comfortable grip, a
