Really good drill . Its really compact and light perfect for light use. Its worth noting it only has drill and hammer drill function . There is no chisel mode but still an amazing drill its now my go to drill.

Good quality, light weight hammer drill I use for interior stuff, like erecting shelves and hanging pictures. I bought this because I needed something that could easily go through plaster and concrete & brick, but not be so violent, like my mains 240v hammer drill. Turns out, it's got plenty of welly anyway, but because of the short body, it's easier to use one-handed. Very happy.

Only just got The DHR171z to replace my aging BHR241 , I already have a DHR242z for larger jobs but I like having a back up cordless SDS . Straight out the box this thing feels robust and has a quality finish . Knowing from doing research that the DHR171 has half the power of the DHR242 I drilled my first couple of 5.5mm holes and thought "it's ok , it'll do" but after three or four holes and the new drill had loosened up , getting used to the light weight , small size and the fact that you can fit a belt clip this will now be my to to SDS as I mainly drill 5.5mm-7mm holes anyway πVery happy with the DHR171z so far , let's see how it lasts .I've also registered it for the extra 2 years warranty on top of the standard 1 year .

The Mrs loves it. It light, can be used anywhere. Screwing is particularly good, doesn't give as a good a hammering as the old heavier 24v though. A good all round for most jobs, if the job is very heavy and large holes need drilling quickly, you're probably better off with a corded drill.A must have in everyones tool bag.
Great, drill, goes through brick and concrete like butter, yet very light to handle. More powerful than it looks. I'm a carpenter /builder, best little tool I've bought in ages. I would recommend it to anyone.
Well worth buying, this drill fits in my backpack. It is ideal for everyday fixing of electrical equipment and containment. I bought it because it goes with my existing Makita 18volt cordless kit. I highly recommend it
Use this 'little' drill on concrete. So far up to 16mm with no problems. Compared to my other SDS machines it is tiny yet has become my first SDS drill of choice. Very pleased with product.
When I got the SDS hammer drill I thought oh no I've made a mistake it's too small. I tried it on seat and drill 100 M14 holes at 150mm deep. I was amazed how much power for such a small piece of kit. The battery lasted amazingly well on it and very compact piece of kit. 100% recommend this amazing tool.
As a joiner I use hammer drills on a regular basis. Delighted to have added this to my tool kit. Used numerous times over the past few days drilling stone, brick and concrete. Just as good as my colleagues twin 18v Makita, a lot lighter too. Does have limitations as itll only drill up to 17mm, cant remember the last time I needed to drill more than that to be honest.
Quite a bit smaller than my 1500watt corded monster - but also considerably lighter - so very good for overhead work into concrete lintels and the like. Surprisingly powerful for such a lightweight machine (s/t 5ah battery as a minimum) and shorter for getting into tight spaces. Only gripe is that the support handle only fits into pre-determined slots, rather than being completely grips- where-you-tighten-it format. Good value compared with bigger machines.
