I typically buy a cheaper bourbon for my cocktails, but when I want to spring for something a little extra fancy I typically go with either this or Bulleit. I mix my bourbon with a caffeine free diet Pepsi (less sugar the better being that alcohol is already sweet). Bulleit reminds me of a more smooth Jim Beam. It has that slight smoky taste. I'm sometimes sensitive to that smokiness. I'm not a huge fan of overly smoked meats or the liquid smoke people use in BBQ'ing. That also goes for my liquors. This Makers Mark is a top shelf bourbon that seems to have even less of that taste which I often times prefer. It goes down easy and also makes for a great bourbon 7. Awesome product with even better service!
22 December 2021

So I've been a huge fan of Makers Mark since I was given my first bottle when I got home from my first deployment from Iraq. It was the USMC Camp pendleton addition one, Since then it's been my go to whenever I'm out with friends. I personally drink a "Maker's stone sour" which is obviously a Markers sour but with a splash of orange juice. Please try it if you haven't! I've now been to the distillery twice! Both times have been awesome! Anyways can't wait for my barrel to be done so I can come back and get some from it!. Cheers p.s. thanks for the Xmas gifts every year! Yall are awesome!

Packaging

I like everything about your service from ordering to delivery, except for the packaging peanuts. I get they’re protecting the bottles, but the air bags seem sufficient enough, in my opinion. The peanuts are such a pain in the *** to manage and then discarding them, it ends up making a mess everywhere. Other than that, I’m happy with my recent order.

Private Stock

Being my favorite drink, Maker's Mark has earned it's status as my "Private Stock" selection. Consumed usually on special occasions, this is the smoothest, most flavorful and aromatic of all my bourbon whiskey selections. Pairs quite well with Captain Black pipe tobacco. Also pairs well with my wife's home made chili! I have been a Maker's Mark conniseur at least a decade! Do not change anything!

Sweet and easy

MM is the very definition of an easy sipper. For those times when you just want to enjoy a nice bourbon that you can sip on without dissecting every little nuance of flavor for a deep analysis……MM is exactly what you should reach for. It’s currently $23! Seriously, how can anyone complain about this bourbon. No, it isn’t going to blow your socks off. You aren’t going to impress your bourbon snob friends by pouring them a dram of it. So what? Open it, pour it, and drink it. You will not be disappointed.MM original is sweet, a little spicy, and very smooth (without being boring). Very crushable indeed. I drink it neat but it would make for a terrific mixer as well. However you drink it, you simply cannot go wrong for the value.

The quintessential bargain wheater
6 March 2023

Maker’s Mark was the first wheated bourbon I ever tried, and is still a great value at $20-$25. It remains better than most other bourbons in its price range, though Maker’s own 46 and 101 are quite a bit better (I’ve not tried the Cask Strength). Here you’ll find flavor notes of vanilla, vanilla cake, red apple, and some caramel. It doesn’t set out to be a truly great bourbon, and is content being just what it is. But sometimes that’s all you need.

Upset with Collector Bottle Marketing
26 January 2022

I drink Maker's Mark products and have not found one yet I didn't like. I also have a large collection of Maker's Mark bottles. My only complaint is last year a very, very limited number of collector bottles in three (3) different design labels were released the same day. It was almost impossible to buy more than one (1). I went to four stores in Lexington and all were out within 45 - 50 minutes from opening the doors. I have been very disappointed in your decision to market these bottles in such a thoughtless manner. It is a disgusting blow to Ambassadors and collectors!

Nose: There's some scorched oak dashing out when it's poured into the glass. A little alcoholic. After a few minutes, some sweet note like brown sugar starts to show. Then caramel.Palate: Smooth and mellow, almost no bite. Very weak char in the front and it's soon gone. The oak is around all the time, making the palate quite woody, but not overwhelming. The body is light and tastes very sweet almost like licorice.Finish: Still woody but no astringency at all. A little nutty in the beginning. There's malty sweetness lingers long, then turns into pear and apple zest. Cool and dry.Comment: I believe this is one of the mellowest bourbons. The nutty note in the finish is a little highlight to me, which could be attributed to the wheat and barley in their mash bill. The whole experience could be even better if that scorched oak on the nose is fixed.
