First of all, the glass vessels of the Margiela candles are really nice and chic. The jazz club candle has an insane throw, even unlit it fills the room. The smell itself is very perfume-y but not artificial. At first I was worried this candle would be too strong but I’ve grown to love it. It burns pretty well with some minimal tunneling, which was easily fixed with some tinfoil. Took off one star because it is so perfume-y but it is a very good quality candle. If strong scents are your thing, you will love this candle.

I had this candle for a week now. I am conflicted, it smells great, but it is not the usual quality of Maison Margiela candles. Even the packaging looks off, it's like a flat stickers on the candle rather the usual fabric like label. The candle is very strong and my bedroom smells like it for days after burning it for a couple of hours. However, this particular candle is not burning evenly and way too fast; I have trimmed the wick and followed candle maintenance and it doesn't help. I am deftly going to buy again, but not from here.

I cycle between Lazy Sunday Morning and By the Fireplace. At first I worried that this was going to be too sweetly floral, but the musk really grounds it. When you look at the scent notes, it doesn't seem like anything special, but they really have created the perfect ratios and it is really unlike any other candle scent. There's nothing in Diptyque/Byredo/LeLabo to compare to. I actually do burn this on Sundays while catching up on my reading and it is so relaxing. Something I look forward to!

A mix of leather and tobacco (not smoke but rather visiting a pipe tobacco store just for the olfactory experience!) The scent is very fresh, I use it in my bathroom and it smells great and clean, but it's VERY overpowering. Same thing happened with "Whispers in the library" candle. The scent is good but WAY too strong, like headache inducing, eyes watering, all of that. Maybe if you have a huge house than you can place far away? I don't know, I prefer candles that are more faint and have a more elegant throw. It lingers quite a bit after, so I guess it depends on your preference. For the bathroom is fine, but only there.
This candle smelled so good in store, but after using the first time, you could hardly smell it.The biggest issue I had with it was when I got to the end of the candle, it went from burning normally to sounding like a wood wick, crackling loudly. After a minute or two of crackling, sparks started flying up and out of the candle onto our mantle. It left a ring of ashes about 4-6 inches around the candle, and if we'd had anything flammable near it, we would have had a house fire.Of all of the dozens of candles we've gone through over the years, we've never had a candle do this before, so we weren't sure if it was the fragrance or something else that started to catch fire... but it was pretty scary!
