L'Oreal Paris Elvive Colour Protect Shampoo 704 ml

The packaging is super good quality. This shampoo makes the hair soft whilst also protecting the hair colour. Normally I wouldn't purchase this as it's quite expensive but I thought I'd try it out and I'm glad it's great. In addition I really like the smell, it makes hair smelling fresh.

If I would be really forced to buy a drugstore shampoo or conditioner right now, that would probably be Loreal Elvive (you can’t miss it, red packaging, for colored hair). This product just makes my hair lovely. Hydrated, shinny, smooth. I am unsure whether the formula has changed over the year since it has been a while since I used this last time, but yes, this was very good. Luckily I am not using drugstore products for a very long time now, but I hope my review will help someone. I am giving this product a 4/5 rating, I avoid Loreal as it’s a super commercial company, full on animal testing and there are way, way better brands out there.

Good price point

I actually brought this product a couple of years ago. It was when the shelves were empty due to people panic buying during the height of the Covid pandemic. Toilet paper, disinfectant etc were almost non existent. This brand had shampoo and conditioner on special but this particular product was the only one left on the shelf. I do have coloured hair so thought I'd better buy it!I only recently tried this shampoo. I thought the shampoo and conditioner bottles looked too similar, very hard to know which was which when you are in the middle of showering. The only real difference was that the shampoo had the flip top at the top and the conditioner on the bottom. But who remembers that from one wash to another?I did enjoy the fragrance, very pleasant. I wash my hair twice and found the first wash the shampoo didn't lather up very well while the second did. My hair felt clean after washing and not dried out at all.I can't say I noticed the colour in my hair lasting any longer or being any brighter, but I was overall happy with the end result of the wash. The price range is very good for what I would rate a good shampoo. A product I would buy again, especially if it was on special.

Not the formulation It use to be.

This range products( colour protect) use to have leen seed oil in they formulation. I use to highlighted my hair blond and it was always my best hair care range. Then I got pregnant, I grown my natural hair and I didn't use this product range for 3 years. Now I highlighted my hair again so I started to use it again, and unfortunately it doesn’t feel as good as before on my hair. I checked ingredients list and the leen seed oil ( that my highlighted hair loves) has been changed to coconut oil which my highlighted hair hate! What a pity! I will have to look for something different, perhaps from different brand.

Please make this again, it was the best shampoo

I used this for years and have now run out of my stash and I am gutted. It was the best shampoo for coloured hair, so gentle, didn't strip colour and cared for my scalp. I don't like the regular colour protect shampoo as it is too harsh for my scalp. I have trawled the internet and the shops and can't find anymore, my hair will never be as good again. Please L'Oreal make some more of this!!!!!

Smells Beautiful

My natural colour hair is medium to dark brown. I don't normally write reviews, but felt I need to about this product. I have been having my hair professionally coloured since March 2018 and slowly over the last 20 months my hair has got lighter and lighter after using my normal shampoo which supposedly protected coloured hair, but because it contained sulphars this stripped the colour and my natural colour. So in September this year I had my hair professionally coloured again (probably the 6th colour treatment) after my hairdresser agreed something was not right. I leave them both on for 5 minutes and I have got to admit my hair has not lost any of its colour I cannot see any greys coming through I am now considering cancelling my next colour appointment in December. I wanted to write this review because I wish I had this information before I originally started colouring my hair.

Still the best shampoo for dyed hair for me!

My hair is dyed and a little dry and this is the best shampoo I've found, and I've tried lots of different brands over the years. The pros of this are as follows:Pros:Lathers wellA little goes a long wayHas a mild, not overpowering smellGood price

This product isn't safe anymore!

Why can’t. Purchase this wonderful product anymore

I absolutely love this low shampoo, there is nothing on the market like it and I have been trying and trying like others on here but it seems for some unknown reason it is no longer available. Why!!!! If it is so popular why have you discontinued it? Please bring it back

Works Well

L'Oreal hair products are a great value for the price and offer good quality and range. I recently tried their shampoo after dying my hair and was impressed. It lathers up well creating soft foams and cleanses my hair without making it feel dry or stripped. I'm not sure if it protects my colour from fading, but it definitely left my hair feeling smooth, silky and shiny with a lovely scent. I would recommend trying one of the shampoos and conditioner from the L'Oreal range and will be buying more of this.
