This griddle is well-made and heavy. It was purchased for use on a GE Cafe induction cooktop. I used the flat griddle side first, leaving the ridged side face down to interact with the cooktop. My cooktop recognized the griddle initially, but it would turn off after 30 seconds. I tried this multiple times over all the burners. It appears that due to its design, surface area that actually touches the cooktop is not adequate for the cooktop to consistently recognize the griddle. Much of the griddle is indented and does not touch the cooking surface. Giving it only 2 stars since it does not work on my induction cooktop.

This griddle is great! I am using it on a glass top electric stove and get great heat from it. It does have cooler spots and warmer spots based on the heating elements on the stove but thatβs to be expected and can be used to your advantage. I was able to cook a whole pound of bacon on it at one time! The bacon stuck some but that always happens with cast iron because of the sugar they put in bacon. My pancakes and eggs didnβt stick at all. Iβve been cooking on lodge cast iron for over 10 years and itβs the same great quality I expected from them. Definitely worth paying extra to have a lighter and thoughtfully designed griddle vs the cheaper lodge models.

First time using this product will be the last time. I made hamburgers on it, struggled mightily to flip the burgers due to sticking, and lost a good amount of the meat that was stuck to the griddle. Grease went all over my stove top during the cook and then I had to spend roughly 30 minutes aggressively scrubbing the griddle with a steel scrubber to clean the stuck on hamburger meat. I will be returning this product as soon as possible.

Iβve been using this grill for several months and itβs been great! Excellent quality, no concerns. It has become a permanent fixture on my stove because I use it for everything from protein to veggies. As long as you treat it with the same care as other cast iron products, I can imagine this lasting years.
I bought if for a friend. He had a flimsy griddle. My term. He had seen me use mine and said the one he had did not work like mine did. So I bought the Lodge griddle for him. Now he and his wife can get great results from the Lodge griddle for themselves and the boys.
I love the Reversible grill/griddle! This is perfect under the broiler or on the grill especially for delicate things like salmon or shrimp! The pan withstands high heat which is perfect for a quick sear and tender centers! This is the fourth Lodge product I have purchased! Love them all!
I purchased this griddle because the description states it was good for induction cooktop. It is not. I have tried unsuccessfully to use this on our new induction cooktop and cannot get an even cooking surface. This griddle does not sit flat on the cooktop only the rim does. For induction it needs to connect with the burner surface. I'm going to try it on our outdoor grill and see if I can get some use out of what seems to be a high quality piece of cookware.
This griddle is undersized for my 30" gas range. The burners are way off center from the griddle, so the burners align more with the edges of the griddle than they do with the center. Cast iron is a poor conductor and as a result if i try to cook with the griddle using both burners the center is not a usable cooking temp for making something like pancakes.I think if the designers at lodge had made the cooking surface it as long as the griddle is with the handles then there would be much more usable area.Because of the problem i usually use it in a single burner configuration so the burner is positioned equidistant from the edges of the griddle. On further thought, i think this would work perfect for people that have a larger oblong center burner on their gas ...Β MoreThis griddle is undersized for my 30" gas range. I bought this grill to make a variety of foods on it. The sides are too shallow to hold the grease/fat that comes of the bacon and/or steak you are cooking. The surface cooks unevenly and in fact one section burned to where itβs unusable. I have other cast iron products and have NEVER had thisProblem. I was very disappointed with the uneven heating and shallow sides (which at first were imperceptible) but once it starts heating up it canβt hold the overflow.
We purchased a new gas stove for our cabin. Some models came with a griddle but the one we chose did not. It did have the oval center burner which works well with the griddles. I researched available options and this one looked like a great option for the size, quality, and price. It arrived and we love it. We ended up liking it so much we bought a second one for our home stove. It fits perfectly over 2 burners. It is heavy, which makes it a good griddle and grill but might make it challenging to handle for some older people.
