It is so thin in places and feels like it will break and tear easily. This is not like normal yarn but like a tube that is a bit hairy. After a few washes it will probably really thin out into your lint bin and you will be left with the string bit. The colors were pretty but not enough to make up for the poor quality. The packaging has a baby on it that seems almost eerie pale, an unhealthy tone. While you are working with the yarn it just stares at you in a creeper way so perhaps another photo on the label would be better with something like a project that has been made from the yarn instead? I purchased this on clearance thinking it would be a great product to try and sadly its not. P.S. on the label the baby is wearing a crochet jacket, but once you look closely you can see its not even made out of this particular yarn and they don't even offer a pattern for this jacket. It is very misleading as to what you can do with this yarn.

Be careful to check for same dye lots, or plan around the subtle color change, there IS a noticeable difference when changing skeins/lots. I received 1 of the 4 pink skeins in a different lot, 3 are the same. I didn’t realize until well into my second skein so I may have to frog and start over. Disappointing.I like the yarn, it’s soft and doesn’t split. Not sure how it will hold up to washing. Hope it doesn’t pill

Hi there, I love feels like butta but I have to give it a rating of 3 because I find so much flaws with this yarn. Almost in every pack there is 1-2 balls of yarn where the yarns thins out throughout the whole ball of yarn and I have to throw it out. Also I find black spots in the white yarn. Therefore I give it a rating of 3

When I first touched a skein of Feels Like Butta yarn, I instantly fell in love with it because of the texture. The softness blew me away. I currently own two skeins and I am making crochet scrunchies; some can be worn as a trendy bracelet.
The yarn itself, is decent. The softness is unmatched, although it’s usually knotted and not the best quality. If you’ve used lion brand before, you know what to expect. HOWEVER! Joann’s, and their employees ability to pick yarn is disheartening to say the least. My skeins are always destroyed, many many loose hanging strands from being pulled on or whatever, wrappers ripped and falling off (if it’s not already off and just tossed in the bag)I can put up with all that. My final straw was, after picking up 4 skeins of feels like butta, as an in store pick up (because that’s how they give their best coupons) I immediately noticed how one skein was MAYBE half a skein. I go grab another one, exact same lot number and all, go back up and explain what happened, showing ... MoreThe yarn itself, is decent. My final straw was, after picking up 4 skeins of feels like butta, as an in store pick up (because that’s how they give their best coupons) I immediately noticed how one skein was MAYBE half a skein. I go grab another one, exact same lot number and all, go back up and explain what happened, showing the difference in both skeins. Both employees agreed, and knew I hadn’t left the store. They wouldn’t allow me to “swap” the yarn out. They made me do a return, and then repurchase, but wouldn’t match the pick up in store coupon. So they told me I could re order and come back to pick up…. I just paid the extra $3 so I could go home and finish my project and left really rather annoyed. Joann’s was fully at fault, wouldn’t make it right, and treated me like poop. The yarn, though. If you get it on sale is totally worth it for the softness. But be prepared for some frustration while dealing with it
I tried this for the first time instead of using my typical bernat velvet for a baby blanket. It did not work up soft and the skeins from the SAME dye lot were shades different and completely different textures. Not sure if they were mislabeled but I had to scrap the entire project because of 8 skeins, only 3 matched. It was an incredibly disappointing yarn. I bought online so maybe in store would be different since you can feel them.
I’m new to crocheting so I don’t have a lot of experience of wools to compare. The colour range is good. I’ve used 7 of the colour range. It crocheted up nicely for me. Started with a baby blanket, created a few beanies and have just completed a pre-schoolers jumper. It is soft to feel.
My daughter picked out this yarn for a granny square baby blanket she wanted. We miscalculated the amount of yarn we would need and when I went to get more I realized we had forgotten to take dye lots into consideration. Initially I thought it would be ok, but the border will be this same color so it was definitely causing an issue. Not only was there a texture differerence, but the shade was off as well. I was not able to find a store locally that had enough stock to try to match dye lots. I even tried contacting Lion directly and they do not pull same dye lots for their online orders either. I took a chance with Michaels and these three packs (I ordered three 3-packs) and they were all the same dye lot!! I am redoing all the squares of this color and I'm so happy ... MoreMy daughter picked out this yarn for a granny square baby blanket she wanted. There are a couple I had gotten from another store that did not work up as soft, but I love these!
I bought this yarn for a pattern I am testing for @/leroocrochet. I asked for the opinions of the more seasoned crocheters in the test on this yarn and after hearing what they thought, I bought it. Eight skeins of Dusty Blue and 3 skeins of Charcoal.I’m only on the very first skein and I’ve already ran into 3 knots. The first came up during my gauge swatch and I was able to tuck it away, but the second one, as you can see in the picture, is blatantly sticking out. I just saw the third one while pulling out more yarn. It’s frustrating that this yarn that is one continuous color has more knots than necessary. It’s annoying enough when it’s a knot to change colors in a variegated skein, but I don’t understand knots in a tonal/solid color. I tug on each knot and none ... MoreI bought this yarn for a pattern I am testing for @/leroocrochet. It’s annoying enough when it’s a knot to change colors in a variegated skein, but I don’t understand knots in a tonal/solid color. I tug on each knot and none have slipped so I just snip the ends but it’s still annoying. I thankfully haven’t run into any of the frayed or thinned out portions other reviews have mentioned and hope it stays that way. Knots are enough of a headache.I’m not as upset about the knot sticking out because the test will have ribbing that will cover the knot. It is just frustrating to deal with. I hope Lion Brand finds a way to fix this issue. It is a very lovely feeling yarn and smooth to work with, but no one likes crocheting with knots.
Normally this yarn is fine. I've bought it other places and been fine with it. Not this time. Every single skein had an issue, not one was from the same dye lot. One skein had 5! factory joins. Another only had one join but the texture and color changed completely at the join. The third and final one kept leaving fuzzies everywhere which this yarn doesn't normally. I swear they had to go through lion brands dumpsters to get them all this bad. I was going to use this to make a set for my baby due later this month but it's such a mess I had to go buy something not awful.
