After a lot of thoughts and research on OLED TVs for the last 3 months I made the decision to purchase this amazing TV. The picture and build quality is outstanding. Even ordinary HD content becomes an extraordinary experience thanks to the upscaling processing power. The ongoing software updates have add additional safety options to improve the long life of this OLED panel. When it comes to 4K content, nothing in the markets comes close to this model, especially if you enjoy movies, sports and gaming thanks to its bright, sharp images with intense clarity, from an upgraded display and cutting-edge gaming features and also ultra-smooth 120Hz display! It looks amazing and we can now also maintain the perfect distance for optimal viewing. Very happy with this model and will recommended to everyone, especially since it is future proof with all the extras.

I bought this tv after looking at many videos on LG OLEDs and others. The reason I got this tv over the equivalent Sony OLEDs is because of the gaming features. LG has done an absolutely amazing job supporting the latest and greatest gaming features (i.e. VRR, 120Hz) while also making them work extremely well. In addition, they have been quick to update their newest televisions with more features and fixes. The picture quality is incredible and everything looks fantastic. The tv itself looks great but at the moment I can't wall mount it. One of the negatives of this tv is that it comes with a wall mount but no feet, which are sold separately. It would have been great if they included both in the box. I was blown away to find out that the remote (which itself is ... MoreI bought this tv after looking at many videos on LG OLEDs and others. I have a ten year old set and it is still able to turn it on and off and change the volume. Everything about this tv is fantastic, except one other thing. The tv has more glare than I would like but this is not a deal breaker by any means, just something to keep in mind. Overall, an amazing tv that I am glad I bought and try to show off as much as I can.

I waited almost 6 months and finally got it delivered and installed. Foremost, the TV is very nice (a bit heavy) and the screen quality is amazing. Alright, I guess we all know this part already. Second -- here are some very major flaws: (a) I have a Sonos Beam soundbar connected (wired) to the eARC port which allows for control over Sonos. Now I also have paired Bluetooth headset that I like to use at night so it won't bother the family. But guess what - LG G1 automatically switches back to the wired audio connection and won't allow for the use BT headset. I submitted a report to their support/engineering and they still have not fixed this. They should never assume default as wired - let the user specify what to use and when. An iPhone allows you to select the wired headset or BT headset, speaker - it does not assume wired as default only. (b) No ESPN+ app -- is this a joke? How do I watch sports? I have to go to the browser and manually logon using the very slow browser window and good luck with all the typing. (c) Gallery of Pictures -- it won't allow me to upload my pictures to run as screen saver ? Even Amazon Echo tiny boxes allow it. While I enjoy those Picasso pictures, why can't I use my own - it's in my house and I am not at a LG museum. Who cares if my pictures don't like a Monet. (d) Magic Control - not all app can use it - Xfinity Stream does not ( there were others) . Shouldn't they make it mandatory that the app has to allow for Magic control - otherwise it's an inconsistent user experience. (e) The magic remote control - come on have it backlit, it's really hard to see the buttons in a dark theatre room. (f) Search is confusing - it constantly finds things on youtube that are dated. If I am searching for Conor Mcgregor, I am looking for his fight tonight - list that first, not everything on youtube. Be a smarter search !Overall - for the amount of money I spent, it is underwhelming. Ok, the screen is great but so what, it's not functional. Good news is these are all software fixes -- if they can get their engineering act to fix these (and btw - shouldn't their QA find these issues - they are not like corner cases, they are very basic use cases).Last but not least- I bought this TV after reading all the great reviews from The Verge, Tom's Guide, Gadget 360 etc. and plenty on Youtube. It just tells me that those reviewers are clueless and have not actually used any product in real world details.

I bought this TV because the last TV that I had was giving me issues with the WIFI card as well as the overall viewing experience. After a TON of research, I finally decided to go for the LG G1 and have been BLOWN away by the quality of the image and overall feature set. I will be 100% honest and admit that I do not use the apps in webOS, but instead what through a Google TV Dongle. This TV is HEAVY. It took a long time and a lot of sweat to get it onto the wall. Mind you, it was a tight fit with my setup. I digress.Overall, it has taken even the most mundane of content and elevated it. The only thing that I can say that's bad is the UI with the webOS. It's stuttery, and that hinders the experience overall.I play a lot of video games since I have a gaming YouTube channel. I played all sorts of games across multiple platforms (PS5, Xbox, and Switch). The Game Optimizer is great but puts everything on the TV to the max. I question how long the longevity of the TV will be with everything turned so high. We'll just have to wait and see.Overall though, I'd recommend this television. I've heard great things about the other TVs at this price range and know people that own other high-end OLED TVs. Personally, I felt like the LG G1, at this price point, was worth the features and overall experience while watching TV, Shows, or playing video games. The LG G1 has not disappointed.
I have been waiting on an entry point to this technology for some time. I wanted to let it mature enough so that possible burn-in issues have been addressed and the price per performance was in-line. The G1 met that criteria for me.When first turned on, the G1 appeared somewhat over done in color presentation and contrast. It was brighter than I thought it would be so I was excited to see how well it would portray HDR 4k material (I have yet to do that as I don't have a capable 4k blu ray player yet). It took some getting use to the deep blacks and vibrant colors. My previous TV was on its deathbed and was performing quite poorly when we made the LG purchase so It's understandable that the G1 experience was quite different. It took some getting use to the deep blacks and vibrant colors. My previous TV was on its deathbed and was performing quite poorly when we made the LG purchase so It's understandable that the G1 experience was quite different. But it still takes our breath away at times when the broadcast or source material we are watching is in a higher resolution. This is also the first "smart" TV that we have owned. Unfortunately I am not able to get the Audio Return Channel to function with my receiver which is my connection hub for audio and video, nor can I get my receiver to recognize the optical output of the TV so that I can use its apps to stream content. In talking with some a/v installers they tell me that ARC works about 85% of the time. I am also hampered by the Harmony remote that I use to control my Xfinity box, Blu ray player, XBox and Anthem receiver. The setup for the activity to use the smart TV features of the G1 doesn't go deep enough into the command structure of the Anthem receiver therefore I can't assign the Anthem to receive the optical output of the TV without using the Anthem remote. Even using the remote I could not get any sound. I am not sure I was getting an optical signal from the TV. I gave up as I can use the Xfinity for my streaming apps so its not a big deal. Honestly, if I could have bought a version of the G1 I would have got that instead. There are proably some performance related aspects that are enhanced by a smart TV but i don't see and immediate benefit based on my usage type. Those who are using the TV audio or a sound bar connected directly to the TV it will work just fine.I look forward to some native 4k content in the future to get the full benefit of this set. Couldn't be happier.
Bought this as a gift for family an couldn’t be more pleased I’ve had OLED before and the picture is superb straight out of the box. The contrast between black and color with the OLED technology is breathtaking. I shopped other brands and compared pictures but when you consider that every pixel can make black by turning off it just makes sense. When the content switches and there’s a brief pause you think it turned itself off. The audio is decent and switching to backward firing is plenty loud without adding extra sound equipment. Easy access to Amazon Prime, YouTube and other apps is easy. The revised Home Screen is very user friendly and the new remote is an improvement over the previous which was somewhat large and to my mind unwieldy. The LG Channels add a lot more content. I’ve heard that LG makes panels for other OLED brands so I figured LG knows a thing or two about them. It is pricey compared not only other brands but other LG OLED models. But check the features—the new EVO panel, better processor, yes, brighter picture the G1 to my mind is the best of the best. I’ve never regretted getting the top model. There are plenty of videos on tweaking the set even further but right now impossible enjoying it very much. If you can afford it get it.
The unboxing process is as simple as can be, with all of the required wall mounts and screws included. In addition to the standard remote, there is also an IR blaster, so than any additional devices connected to the TV can be controlled with the built in remote. The TV software setup is reasonably easy, if not a little long. I did get stuck on one screen where no matter how many times I clicked a "Continue" button it simply wouldn't, but restarting the TV seemed to fix that issue.Once up and running, you are dropped on the main Home Screen, which is quite daunting, as it's full of things that you will probably in all likelihood not use. I suppose it depends on whether you are planning to use the built in apps or not, but as somebody with an Apple TV, this Home Screen is something I will never use. Luckily you can configure the TV so that it just goes to your last input on boot, rather than to the cluttered Home Screen. In terms of picture modes, they are highly configurable, and if you are not a fan of the "soap opera" effect, you will want to get into the settings and turn off TruMotion. In terms of the Dolby picture settings, there are modes for "Home" and "Cinema", which essentially cater for a room with lights on, versus a completely dark room, that look quite good out of the box.The sound is "fine" if not a little "uneven" so to speak. Depending on the mode, I've found that for example, dialogue is a little quiet, so requires the volume to be a little louder than normal. However, when music or action sequences start, the volume is MILES louder, meaning it's tough to find a balance between dialogue than can be heard and other sequences being way too loud. There doesn't seem to be any mode where both dialogue and music/action sequences are at an equal volume. The remote again is "fine", though if you are using an external box for Netflix etc. you will rarely interact with it. The pointer style navigation works, but it can be a little hard to hit some of the on screen targets. The design of the TV itself is beautiful, and the G1 setup for wall mounting is excellent, in terms of how the external ports are arranged. In Australia, the optional legs should also be shipped with the TV, and these were easy to attach (and unattach).Overall this is a solid TV that I would recommend to anybody who wants a best in class OLED.
Getting the G1 over the C1 was a good choice for my household. The included wall mount works well even if it is anxiety inducing. When extended, the mount allows the TV to swing so as to fine-tune its position on the wall. Once the mount is tucked in the TV is stable. The remote is reasonably well set-up except for the floating pointer. It turns on automatically and just by pushing a button on the remote, it moves on the screen so I end up selecting unintended items. In the course of learning about the features I clicked randomly on a couple LG channels, now they are permanently listed as "frequently watched". They will often get displayed on screen and blast me with unwanted audio content. The apps (idk if these are under LG control) frequently bug out and I have to delete, reinstall and re-log in to them. The frequent updates are annoying, I would rather they update when I am not trying to watch programming.I do like that a timer is displayed to indicate how long an ad break is.I would like to be able to delete the irrelevant apps and offers in the interface so I don't have to sift through them to get to what I want. All I want to do is turn on the TV and watch what I want to watch and play what I want to play. I do not want to get assaulted with a deluge of loud irrelevant content that makes me want to turn the TV off .Bottom line is, the TV is very well engineered and and impressively designed, really glad I bought it.
I purchased the 65inch model and i have no regrets at all it is a thing of beauty.Firstly the delivery process was pretty seamless, i got text messages keeping me informed and the delivery men brought the item right into the room i needed it in. They were very friendly and helpful people. The wall mount was easy to put up as was attaching the tv to the mount. I did this alone (lock down issues) although i wouldn't advice it but it is possible. I think i used a size 8 masonry drill bit (into a brick wall) for the holes to put the wall plugs into. I couldn't find any guidance on this so this was a bit of a guess which was worrying. Hopefully LG can add some advise on this to their documentation as you really don't want holes which are too big!The tv on the wall, ... MoreI purchased the 65inch model and i have no regrets at all it is a thing of beauty.Firstly the delivery process was pretty seamless, i got text messages keeping me informed and the delivery men brought the item right into the room i needed it in. I couldn't find any guidance on this so this was a bit of a guess which was worrying. Hopefully LG can add some advise on this to their documentation as you really don't want holes which are too big!The tv on the wall, being so slim and flush really does look amazing. I bought a cheap plastic cover for the cables so they are boxed in too which is a nice touch too.Adding more cables after the TV is on the wall isn't the easiest if you keep the tv on the wall however it is possible. When i boxed the cables i realised i needed a longer HDMI cable so i had to add one in. You could always just take the TV off of the wall mount and add additional cables and pop it back on though. The picture quality is as good as i have seen, obviously its not perfect but like i say as good as i have seen on other TVs. I don't have much 4k content right now, however, HD looks great and the small amount of higher quality I've seen really does stand out. The true black freaked me out at first when a show cut to complete blackness as i kept thinking the tv had turned itself off so the oled effect really does work. Im not really a fan of super bright, unnatural colours so i keep it in 'cinema' mode all of the time. The options are really good having the ability to download apps such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney Plus, Apple TV and many, many more. The gallery feature isn't as good as i had thought though. I had thought it would attempt to imitate a real work of art better however, the screen is too bright and the digital frames really give away the fact that its an image on a tv. Maybe i was being a bit naive expecting it to be more realistic and I think the Samsung frame may be a bit more realistic, although its still a great touch and option to have and the artwork, which you can download for free, really do look amazingly crystal clear. The images show on a slide show, i havent figured out a way to just keep a single image on display but im sure there is the option. The remote control is cool, when i first saw it in pictures i thought it looked pretty basic and ugly but its better than i thought. It has built in virtual pointer so you can aim at different options on the screen or just switch to using the control pad to select items onscreen instead and it switches between the two really easily and not annoyingly as could easily have been the case. You can also talk to the tv which i thought was just a gimmick, however, it has proven to be useful a couple of times already. Also programming my sky remote was easy, however, only one of my two sky remotes will turn the tv on or off of change volume which is a bit strange.I currently do not use any external speakers or sound bars, i find the tis output perfectly fine, however, im not a sound nut so the views of others might be more useful on this point. You have the ability to add the TV to Apples HomeKit, i was hoping i could use the TV as a home hub but this isn't possible you can only add it and then do some controls through apples HomeKit, which may prove useful.
So far the TV itself is great and performing as advertised. I should have read the fine print and discovered that the TV only comes with a wall mount kit - which was ok for my space just unanticipated. The wall mount itself is sturdy enough but the uni-language graphic instruction is a little weak and the hardware didn't work for my installation. I have a steel stud wall where I could not mount the wall mount bracket to align with a steel stud. The plastic plugs provided in the install kit spun in the drywall before the fastener would tighten up. Had to go to Home Depot and purchase some butterfly wall mounts to fasten it. Knowing this in advance would have made my experience better.
