Thank god there is no dead pixels or scratches in my monitor. Setting it up is the most nerve-racking part where you may scratch screen by accident, set screen down on a table with soft cloth or yoga matt to install base carefully. Quality not bad. I especially like using remote control to change between different picture modes. Now IMHO, this is only good for office work or any work where you have to stare at screen for hours without hurting your eyes. If you expect a glossy monitor (which reflects more light) with photo realistic image, then you can FORGET about it. The colour simply isn't as good as a glossy 4k monitor without (or with less) anti-glare coating (I believe). I do have another 4k monitor that reflects more light to compare. So people who intends to use this monitor for video/photo editing, image processing, (watch 4k movies?)... may be disappointed when compared with a glossy 4k monitor. Even with 'Vivid' or 'HDR Effect' picture mode, colour is still less vibrant than my older more glossy 4k monitor. Ironically, the glossy 4k monitor seems to strain my eyes more after I use it for hours. So if you enjoy reading on big monitor for hours then knock yourself out with this one. :)

43" is the monitor class begging for curvature

I've been using a 43" monitor for about six years, and it's 'almost' the best size monitor for productivity. If I were designing monitors, I'd go a couple of inches bigger to 45", as it would make text that little bit easier to read at this scale. But that's not my biggest gripe - I'd happily live with 43" if I had to. What drives me insane is that after all these years, I still can't buy a *curved* 43" 4k screen. Anywhere. No one makes them. LG, if you made a 43-45" curved OLED screen, I'd buy TWO of them. Pretty much irrespective of cost. Yeah, LG already have some new curved ultrawide OLED 240Hz gaming monitors coming, which is great, but there's no height. Yeah, LG already have some new curved ultrawide OLED 240Hz gaming monitors coming, which is great, but there's no height. I write code, analyse logs with tens of thousands of lines and work in Excel a lot - I crave vertical screen real estate, so none of the ultrawides are of any interest. I wouldn't *mind* an extra bit of width, but not at the cost of height. Why is curvature so important? Because sitting 90cm from the center of a 43" monitor means my eyes are 105cm from the edges of the screen, which is a significantly different focal length making text much harder to read of windows are towards the edges - I often move my active windows to the middle of the screen because its vastly more comfortable. It also causes an optical illusion where the monitor seems to curve *away* from you, due to the large flat plan vs the curvature of your eye. I thought I'd get used to that pretty quickly but six years later and I'm still struggling. The *ultimate* monitor would of course be a 2560x5760 240Hz OLED 61-64" curved display, but I know I'm dreaming, hoping something like that will ever come along. All I'm after, realistically, is a 43" curved monitor - is that really so difficult to bring to market? Curved TVs were a gimmick and I'm glad they seem to have gone away. But when you're sitting less than 1m from such a large display, a curved panel is no longer a gimmick, it's essential.

This is more than enough room for everything I need to view at once. The fact that I can also hook other things up to this monitor really let me shift my entertainment habits as well. I am growing my blu-ray collection, and picking up new and old CDs (thrifting old CDs & Blu-ray’s or DVDs is a new favorite pastime) and feel oddly freed? I do want to be clear that I’m not a graphic artist, or animator, and I’m just happy to have a large screen with good resolution for my needs. Basically I found a multifunctional screen that works as a computer monitor, video game display, and movie screen in my average sized office space (i.e. my spare room) and it’s perfect for me.

Overall Great Monitor. This was the largest monitor I could find at a reasonable price. I am considering buying another. Give yourself time to adjust to using a large monitor like this if you haven't used one before it took me a week or two to get used to it. Now that I am its hard to imagine ever using a smaller monitor again. There are only two minor issues that I have experienced with this monitor. 1: The usb ports do not charge devices when connected. I do not know why they don't work but they don't. If this is some sort of setting someone please let me know but I don't believe this is the case. 2: There should be a dedicated input button on the monitor. Pressing up on the nub does nothing if they simply coded this to switch inputs that would have solved the issue. Using the remote is much easier because there is a dedicated input button on the remote. But I do not want to rely on a remote control for a computer monitor. I hope that they come out with an even larger monitor in the future either 48inch 50 or even 55. I will happily upgrade.

I bought the same monitor to use mostly for my work at home office work. I love it, it rocks. I bought mine from Bestbuy as an excellent quality like new return. Saved $150 doing that off an already great price. Love the multi ports. Color accuracy is good enough for production work. Has fine tune warm or cool settings if needed. Can also be calibrated if you want more precise color control for photography using a Datacolor Spyder Spyder Spectrophotometer. The monitor can be as precise as you want it to be color wise. I have a Mac and PC laptop connected to it I use for work. The remote makes changing from one to another easy. I like the color temperature controll that allows the color look and feel to be changed globally for a look and feel that is a quock way to adjust that overall feel without calibrating the monitor. LG put a lot of thought into making this monitor practical and easy to use. This monitor is heavy. I recommend hooking up the connection cables while it is flat on a surface. The port connections are in a difficult to access location when the monitor is upright. I also color coded the cables and connections. This is a keeper. Highly recommended. Best in comparative class for the price.

Good large monitor for the money.
27 December 2022

I was looking for a large monitor for computer work. I selected one large 4K monitor as opposed to two 2.5K monitors because there are so many Windows bugs when using two monitors (not an issue with MacOS, incidentally). This size monitor is a little hard to see on the edges when doing computer work. A curved monitor would be better if you can afford on (or in my case if your employer will approve the purchase). It took a few cycles of the power switch to get windows to recognize the monitor the first time. I hadn’t unpacked the remote at that point in time…. Probably would have been OK if I used the remote to select input source. The remote is not useful in my situation—just desk clutter.

Overall great for productivity - read the caveat..

I'd say this is excellent with a caveat... If you're looking at this monitor, you're probably looking for maximum productivity and possibly a side of gaming. The size is right, the resolution is right, and handling 60hz is not bad, either. It has 4 HDMI inputs (two can handle 60hz - #3 and 4) that you can use for picture by picture (PBP) or picture in picture (PIP). All of this can be controlled via a nice remote that's included. That was a nice touch considering you might be sitting back a bit further from this than a "normal-sized" monitor. There is a nice joystick "hidden" below the bottom center that can be used to control the OSD, but the remote is much easier to manage. Color is decent to excellent - it's IPS, but has low contrast so blacks are more greys, but ... MoreI'd say this is excellent with a caveat... Color is decent to excellent - it's IPS, but has low contrast so blacks are more greys, but overall it's good. Probably not someone's first choice for color-critical work anyway, but it's more than good for everyone else! Mine came with no dead pixels, no issues. Rtings mentioned they received excellent color reproduction after calibration. Games look great and though I love my Dell 27" 1440p 120hz monitor, apparently I'm not a pro gamer! The size of this makes games way more immersive. I'll probably move my PS4 pro to one of the inputs since I'm at my desk more than I am in the TV room! CAVEAT: So the one caveat is this is a BGR layout screen - what this means is that the subpixels (the smaller "cells" that make up a pixel that are usually Red Green Blue) are reversed here. For most things it's a non-issue, but in Windows, it can make text look blurry or have color artifacts. Windows will try to use "ClearType" (font smoothing) to make things better, but since that's based on an RGB layout, it makes things worse. I'd recommend not using "ClearType" at all or using "Better Clear Type", an open-source project on Github, that allows you to test different levels of contrast and subpixel layouts to improve the look of it. If you're interested in learning more, read DisplayNinja's BGR vs RGB article. Note, it seems that Mac OS doesn't have an issue with this based on how they try to smooth fonts, so unfortunately it seems like a Windows issue only. OVERALL Overall this is a great monitor! It's a keeper since it's going to make me more productive - multiple email accounts and spreadsheets all in one view are no problem.

Screen flashes
28 November 2022

It's a nice idea, but this particular monitor is extremely frustrating, unusable at times. Randomly, the screen will go black for 6 seconds or so, then your desktop reappears. Of course this happens when I'm researching, editing video, other important things, but never when I'm not working on something. I've used three different computers, same thing happens. I've even hooked up two computers on a split view configuration and one side goes out while the other operates properly. Then later the working side goes off while the other side stays on. Completely frustrating for what was a $600 monitor. I've updated my computers, switch cables, updated the firmware for the monitor, and it still flashes. This is at my satellite office and I was not in this office much over ... MoreIt's a nice idea, but this particular monitor is extremely frustrating, unusable at times. Shock and Awe

It BIGGG. Great monitor for traditional Microsoft office / Zoom / Web worker. By dragging apps to corners, you can create four traditional monitors in 2x2 setup or have the equivalent of two vertical monitors in one screen (dragging two apps to midway point of right or left screen). I don't use PIP mode. Solid clarity and refresh when using USBC to DisplayPort connection. May need Thunderbolt 4 or equivalent for USB-C to USB-C connection. Perfect partner for new base Mac Mini M2. User settings: 80 Brightness 60 contrast 50 Sharp Super Resolution High Black level 45 Gamma 2.2 Colors all set at 58

WAY better than 4 screens!
28 October 2021

You really should think of this 43" display as buying four 21.5" displays in one. Started looking at larger displays for my MacBook Pro when I noticed I could only run two external displays. My previous setup (with an iMac) had three displays side by side and I didn't want to lose one display! I was fixated on getting my 3 displays back! Boy oh boy, this is so much better than having 3 or even 4 external displays. It's got all the benefits of having four displays, with a bonus that you can use the entire screen for extremely immersive videos and games. Even better, I could run TWO of these at 4k off my MacBook and functionally have 8 displays. Simply crazy. This display is a productivity superstar. Now for the few weird things I ran into. I don't think any of this warrants losing a star, but would have been good to know ahead of time: 1. When using the display with a standard HDMI cable running to an HDMI device, I couldn't get full 4k resolution without using one of the two provided HDMI cables in the box. The TV even prompted me with an onscreen message saying something to the effect of "please use included HDMI cables". 2. On my MacBook Pro, I ran two USB C to HDMI cables to this screen, expecting to use it like two ultra wide displays stacked on top. This did not work, the only resolutions I could set were 16:9 ratio, so I never got two widescreen displays even when the TV display mode was set for two widescreen displays. Not a big deal, I've been using it as a single 4k display and that's been fine. Just know if you plan to hook this screen up to a Mac you're only getting 16:9 ratio screens, regardless of where you put it in the display layout. It's also possible the cables I was using were causing the problem.
