Go for apple. I have had my Lenovo approximately 1.5 years and have had constant problems since my warranty expired. A few days after my warranty expired my computer glitched out and would not even start up which cost me a few hundred dollars to get fixed. Thinking this would solve the problem I again did not extend warranty. Now a few months later my computer is freezing again and there is nothing Lenovo will do to stand behind their product without warranty. All in all not impressed, I was too cheap to spend more money on an apple product because I do basic web searches and note taking, but knowing what apple offers I would recommend buying an apple product that lasts more then 365 days. I never write reviews but want to try to prevent anyone else from having my experience. I received my laptop 8 days ago and have already had numerous headaches. The main reason I purchased this laptop was to be able to use as a tablet and laptop. Within the first week the touch screen stopped working when it was in tablet form and a few days later it stopped working altogether. When I contacted support it took multiple days to receive a response and when I was finally called the technician kept telling me that this laptop isn't meant to be touchscreen even though that is entirely untrue and the touchscreen capabilities were working days before. He told me to return my device to the seller and when I told him I bought directly from lenovo he continued to give me the ... MoreI never write reviews but want to try to prevent anyone else from having my experience. Overall, awful experience- the only positive is that it is happening within the first month so that I can return it and receive a full refund.

This is the first time I purchased a Lenovo, but it surely won't be the last! I just love the Idea Pad Flex 5i. Taking it out of the box, I was impressed by it's well-built, yet compact size. Set up was a breeze and the keyboard has such a great feel to it. I purchased the computer for my adult son, but I was so impressed, I want to keep it for myself. I am excited to try it out as a tablet and am waiting for the compatible pen to arrive. This computer seems to do everything I hoped it would and more. Definitely would buy again and I just might as a Christmas present for myself! Very happy with this purchase.

The laptop has a decent battery life, I can go a whole day of classes with just one charge and still some power left, I love it. I also love that it has a built in camera cover, pretty convenient. It's also a great 2 in 1 type laptop, and I find that i can use it to do my readings in bed, or somewhere cozy thats not a table. pen means I can annotate docs and pdfs easily or scribble on one note. I also like its small size. nice colour, strong hinges. the entire laptop body is made of metal so that means the laptop is durable, but its weight distribution is poor, and it feels heavy.but - its weight distribution is pretty terrible, and I sometimes find it hard to lift with one hand. overall, great for students and very affordable. a weighty budget laptop that can ... MoreThe laptop has a decent battery life, I can go a whole day of classes with just one charge and still some power left, I love it. Bought this laptop as a gift for a family member who uses it for browsing and light programs. The laptop itself is quite solid with hinges that feel stable and very little flex in the chassis. Lenovo keyboards are as good as they usually are and the trackpad, while it could be a little bigger still, is quite good for a product in this price range. The screen is excellent, no complaints there. This generation of Intel processors is quite a leap forward, so in daily tasks it flies without even ramping the fans.I can't speak to more demanding tasks or casual gaming, but if you're looking for something that will do the trick for most simple things and at a very reasonable price (bought discounted), I'd highly recommend.
Its a good product but not exceptional. The mouse can be a bit finnicky and it cant be adjusted by the settings. May want to consider buying an external mouse. Sometimes can also be a bit glitchy requiring you to restart your computer. Also was very upset that it didnt come with a compatible pen. Went through a very frustrating experience buying a pen that i was told was compatible by customer support but it turned out it wasnt. Couldnt return it online even though it gives an option online. Had to call them. Their website is so overly complicated and glitchy too. Hard to find the pen that actually was compatible. Just got it but never tried it yet. Hope it works
Track pad is not smooth at all, pointer lags on screen and can jump across. Is heavier than other 2-in-1 laptops, heats up a bit quickly and fan can be loud. When starting up from sleeping it makes these squeaky noises as it wakes up and loads in, like gears turning (just an example). The first time I used it in tablet mode, after I folded it back into a laptop, the teach pad and keyboard did not respond at all. Couldn’t find any troubleshooting help through the browser on my phone. Just resorted to restarting it and luckily it worked. The screen also doesn’t automatically flip when you turn it upside down in tablet mode, you have to figure it out in the settings. The stylus works nicely with it. I think the keyboard layout could be more standard but it’s ok, the ... MoreTrack pad is not smooth at all, pointer lags on screen and can jump across. I think the keyboard layout could be more standard but it’s ok, the backlight is nice. Charges fast, speakers are good sound quality with Dolby audio, nice screen resolution. Had trouble connection to wireless printer? My office jet 4620 would not register, I tried all the avenues, had to plug it in.All in all it’s a good 2-in-1 option for a reasonable processor and competitive characteristics, but I think it needs some shaping up with fine detail things that add up. It’s heavy to carry around campus because I’m a student, the mouse not working accurately is really bothersome, the fan can be annoying in lectures, etc.
I love how responsive my new IdeaPad 5i is. The keyboard suits me well, and the screen is bright and sharp. My experience with the new unit is somewhat limited, as I have not had a chance to use it extensively yet, so i cannot judge its performance. My initial worries about the battery life have been resolved. The current status indicates that I should get about 11 hours out of a full charge, which is more than satisfactory to me.I have a concern though:The unit is heavy. I am aware that it's built very well with high grade materials, so I guess this is the price I need to pay for that.
I was very excited when I purchased this laptop. The features looked great, loved the 2-in-1 capability, and it seemed to be very reasonably priced. The moment that I unboxed this and began booting up the system, it froze right then and there... I should've taken this as a sign of what's to come because this laptop time and time again will freeze! I have only my web browser open and it will completely freeze from a single tab open. It is very, very frustrating. I kept trying to stay optimistic as it isn't a daily occurrence per say, but after months of the same problem happening over and over, I simply have had enough. And despite the freezing problems this product has given me, it is still only average in its performance. Laptop purchases are a very important decision, especially when you're in school and relying on it like myself, so I have been very disappointed and frustrated with this product.
great for students and for those on the go. lightweight and fits in a backpack. this one comes with the digital lenovo pen which makes notetaking during class and easy and convenient experience. not overly loud and hasnt gotten overly hot in the 2 months i've had it so far. the AMD 5 makes it easy to play valorant and skyrim. streaming on anything from youtube to netflix is a funky experience. the video and audio doesnt sync and i think it has to do with the drivers but im not sure. the fingerprint scanner makes it easy to unlock the screen at any time so you dont have to be paranoid at a lecture that the person behind you is going to look over your shoulder, unless they steal your fingerprint with tape or chop your finger off you are, hopefully, safe.the most ... Moregreat for students and for those on the go. lightweight and fits in a backpack. this one comes with the digital lenovo pen which makes notetaking during class and easy and convenient experience. not overly loud and hasnt gotten overly hot in the 2 months i've had it so far. the AMD 5 makes it easy to play valorant and skyrim. streaming on anything from youtube to netflix is a funky experience. the video and audio doesnt sync and i think it has to do with the drivers but im not sure. the fingerprint scanner makes it easy to unlock the screen at any time so you dont have to be paranoid at a lecture that the person behind you is going to look over your shoulder, unless they steal your fingerprint with tape or chop your finger off you are, hopefully, safe.the most annoying thing about this device is that there are no rewind, pause, or playback keys. being able to pause media at any time quickly is very convenient but to no avail you wont find that here. i tried to get an app to fix it but it made it more annoying so i will have to live through it. but for future models it would make the computer even better.
