I'm yet to build the other two builds however after studying the instructions it looks like you could actually buy 3 sets and combine all 3 builds into one large castle.Playability on this set gets 5 stars. Watching my young kids play with this for hours as they battled the dragon and moved the draw bridge up and down was priceless and bought back a lot of memories of playing the same way with my siblings. ... MoreIt's been a long time since I've built a castle set and after growing up with some of the Forestmen and Castle sets of the 80's, this set definitely tugged on the nostalgia heart strings. The build itself is very straight forward and the castle slowly starts to take shape and once completed, the primary build looks excellent especially when it is all closed up. It's got an open back so kids can get in and play in the rooms or even have their minifigure use the outhouse. The hidden wall where the skeleton can escape is also a cool touch. The built up dragon while basic is also a nice touch and can be positioned sitting on the roof of the yellow building to look like it's attacking. If this kit could improved I would have to say it needs more weapons, another soldier and a horse (we all remember how cool the knights on horses were in the older sets). You only get 1 sword, 1 spear and one bow and arrow (without the shoulder arrow pack) and 2 shields of which one is attached to the front of the castle. I think a couple more swords and a spare shield wouldn't have gone astray.Overall a great set and a lot of fun for both the kids and myself

My 9 yr old son loves this Lego set! He got it for Christmas and built it the next day. I grew up in Germany and was talking about castles and toilets. Anyone else see the toilet?! Out of 34 pages of reviews, not one person mentioned the toilet!!! And roll of toilet paper! 😂 The details and lots of fun spots in the castle, but the toilet is awesome! Accurately designed! Well done Lego!!!! I wonder how long they’ve been waiting for someone to share the roll and hole? My son loves it even more after I pointed it out.

With that, there is some bias with my review. The Cons:- A few more mini-figures would have made this set perfect. Skelerang doesn't count as a mini to me (and others) it's more of a decor piece IMO.- Some smooth BLUE 1 x 3 or 1 x 4 would have been nice. Black Falcons don't roll with red in their heraldry! (I know, a super tiny nit-pick)That's it for cons. The Pros:- The main build is a fun nod to the 80's lineup of castle sets, and I see a lot of Lego design history in the main build. Thanks for that!- It's a challenging build, but not impossible, and NOT repetitive. Keeps in interesting.- The Wizard's Tower build is great. Nothing is more impressive that a big honk'n tower to put Gandalf, Majisto, or Dumbledore. I like the add on capability if you get multiples of this 3 in 1.- The Market Place can be looked at as the weaker build, but historically, many castles, or walled towns had marketplaces/vendors set up along the wall. This design lines up with that historic aspect, and its most appreciated.- If you are castle fanatic like me, you get three, put each build together, and have a SWEET Black Falcons keep. Brand new, and ready to sit next to the very impressive new Lion Knights castle Mega-Plex.

Endless play opportunities!! Amazing set
12 November 2023

I brought this to build with my son whilst his grandparent was hospitalised to take his mind off the worry. And it didn’t disappoint! My son is 5 but he loved helping out and to be fair with a little help he could do quite a bit of the building himself. The way the set opens up, the drawbridge, the prison door with the secret entrance and the moving forge… amazing quality and real value for money. The hours of play and various scenarios (it’s doubled as Maz’s castle for his star wars Lego!). My son is desperate to build the trebuchet but can’t bring himself to destroy the castle so a second set is on his Christmas list. Overall great family fun! Well done Team Lego!!

Fun and Interesting Build

This three in one build has a lot of interesting builds. Unfortunately I was only able to finish some of the builds as my set was missing roughly 4 pieces, but I was able to salvage some from other sets to make it work. Having missing pieces from 3 in 1 sets is especially bad because you don't really notice what all is missing until you do the primary build. Overall the mechanics of the builds are interesting and the playability is super fun. The main castle is held together with flimsy joint pieces and that makes moving the castle around nearly impossible so it needs to be broken off into the three sections to move, which is a little inconvenient if you want to display it somewhere up high. I do wish Lego would have better quality control with missing pieces, but ... MoreThis three in one build has a lot of interesting builds. I do wish Lego would have better quality control with missing pieces, but this is the first set i've had this issue with and they send the missing pieces to you which is nice. Unfortunately it takes 1-2 weeks for delivery, so unless you have parts to salvage from other builds, you'll have to wait a while before building.

Great Set!
17 February 2024

As a middle age person who grew up with the 1980's and early 1990's Castle Lego sets, this new castle was an exciting find. I love the Black Falcons, and the 3n1 aspect of this set reminded of the alternate builds Lego would put on set boxes way back in the day. This is a great set as is, but offers so many alternate build ideas. Great colors and minifigures. Absolutely love this set, and it is a tremendous value for all the building fun. Pairs nicely with the new Lion Knights castle, too.

It took me around 3 hours to construct the castle, but there are also two other medieval buildings you can create with this amazing set! There's a towering outpost with even a functioning catapult! Just the catapult itself offers hours of fun! The third option you can build is a detailed town square marketplace with a cool windmill that spins, and also a cute small tower! Also, in the main castle, two stone towers have two blue flags, which I think is a really cool detail! There are multiple rooms, including a throne room, a jail, a small shop, and a blacksmithing station where your minifigs can make tools! Also, if you spin the waterwheel on the side, the hammer in the blacksmith station hits the sword, which is a really cool play feature! The Black Falcons were in need of a home of their own, their numbers growing. Having spent the past several years hanging out at the Medieval Blacksmith’s - it was time.Figured I’d pick up this 3-1 castle to give them a place. The happiness this 3-1 castle gave me was totally unexpected. Can’t explain it other than realizing it’s a first class castle play set.A scout group of Black Falcons arrived at the onset of construction - and as the towers went up, more came. It’s small, yet big enough to open up and play with (stage scenarios, add side builds, add details, plants or trees). The build was well paced. There were some great little build techniques - like the working waterwheel anvil in the armory, the drawbridge, the escape wall in the cell. Smart details.Solid value at retail price. Worth every penny. If you’ve got minifigs (this set only comes with 3), horses, wagons, animals, weapons, etc from other castle / medieval sets it will come to life instantly and delight you. It’s that good.It doesn’t compare to the LKC or MB in terms of details, refinement or OG display presence. It looks more like a play set - a BEAUTIFUL play set, mind you! THATS what makes it special. It’s charming. It is a PERFECT play set.I don’t know what it is about this 3-1 castle that’s enchanted me. Maybe bc it let me be a kid again. Maybe because that’s the magic of Lego castle. Maybe bc it’s simple and affordable and easy-going.The Medieval Blacksmith is a gorgeous display piece. None better IMO.Lion Knights Castle is everything one could ask for. Display, play - all of it. It’s the crown jewel of my Lego. This 3-1 castle though - it’s something unexpectedly wonderful. It’s got some kind of magic. For whatever it’s worth, I’m super picky about the sets I buy. Not into clutter. Curated collection. If you haven’t given yourself the pleasure, do pick one up and build it. It took 3 days of chilling on a rainy long weekend - made it last. Super fun build.Bonus - great parts pack and tons of alt builds available. The LEGO community has so much love for this set. Now I understand why. Pick one up before its retirement, might pick up another myself !Happy building !

Much better than expected

I so much miss knight sets. I haven't bought this one before because I bought a bigger Idea Medieval one and just thought this is a cheaper, smaller version. But what a suprise, first build reminded me on my old 80's castle, second it gave me ideas how to enrich my old set with few more details, third it is a perfect play for my 4 year old, it has cool gadgets, and he adores the dragon. One more year and we will have some epic battles with all of our castles. I just wish there is more castle sets, especially some smaller that could complement for even more fun play, like thieves layer, carriages etc.

We have our older Castle set that includes a horse and more minifigures so put that together with the largest of the 3 in 1 choices to have a BIG castle. We enjoyed the time constructing this for an hour each evening this past week. We have extra horses and minifigures to add to this and set up a whole castle scenario on a BIG table. Yes, we are older adults but "playing" is a good thing. We did find a two errors - p. 216 step #26 called for one green flower, One 1x3 studded piece and TWO 6211975 pieces but it only needed/used one on this step. Same situation with step #30 p. 217. We forgive you. First instructional error we have EVER found in a LEGO product so you are doing very well. We have been Lego fans well over 30 years.
