I got this for my 5 year old son for his birthday and it was a huge hit. He LOVES lego and trucks of all kinds so this was perfect. He was able to put it together with minimal help and actually play with it once it was built. I love how solid it is after being put together. This Lego set allowed him to be so creative with his imaginative play and kept him occupied for a long period of time. He has come back to it over an over which is a huge bonus! This would make a great gift for a lego or truck lover!

I bought this set for my daughter and I to build. Well, technically I built it and my daughter played with the pieces as I built it.I was torn between getting the City Garbage Truck vs the Friends Garbage Truck. My daughter was drawn towards this one because it looks like the ones that go down the street. The build is fairly easy and the playability is very high. My daughter just sits at the table and picks up the garbage and make sure her Lego community is very clean.I highly recommend this set.

Bought this a while ago, but it lacks a bit.The truck is cool, but I think the recycling centre could be improved just slightly, I mean, you could add a brick built tree like on the train station and a small bench. Also paid 35 euro when I think its retail value could be 30 or even 25 euro. But it serves its purpose quite well and is fun to dump the recycling and empty the bins (never thought I'd say that!) and at the end of the day, I like it!
My youngest is in love with garbage/recycling trucks and I bought this set thinking I could put it together and we would have a couple minutes of play time. I wake up to him asking to play with it after promising him he can play with it the night before. He is rough with the truck and it only has one to two piece that come off at a time. It was fun to put together and a blast to play with.
I received product reimbursement in exchange for my honest review. I really liked this Lego set. It has a educational aspect to it- I think I might use it in the classroom as a way to talk about the importance of recycling. The instructions are easy to follow. I like that it is split into different booklets for each item- so it's not overwhelming. It includes the truck as well as people, and recycling cans. There are a lot of pieces for a young child, but when you get started, it's not as overwhelming as it looks like at first. I really like this set.
I received product reimbursement in exchange of my honest review. My nephew loves all Legos and I love that you can discuss such important matters as recycling during the game. We collect all the trash but it's sometimes pretty hard to explain why it's important. Much easier to explain it during the game! We built a track, played several scenes. Everybody were happy. Overall, a lot of positive emotions!
I know this set is getting a little old now, but it’s still worth picking up!The 2006 recycling truck was the first Lego set I ever got, it was a birthday gift when I was 8 years old. I loved that set a lot and I love this one too. Thank you Lego City team for all you’ve done over the years, your Lego designs made me so happy growing up and still do! Have a Merry Christmas <3
My 4 year old had a blast putting this together. I’m impressed by how realistic it looks. It is also functional and fun for him to play with. Just like a real garbage truck, the back can tip to dump the garbage. The white part on the back can open to clear the way for dumping the garbage out of the back of the truck. There is also a lever arm to dump the garbage cans included with this truck into the truck. And it comes with appropriate Lego pieces that can be used as garbage, recycling, and compost. The roof of the cab comes off easily so the child can put the driver into and out of the vehicle.
I received product reimbursement in exchange for my honest review. I love how high quality this set is-- all of the pieces are very sturdy, and the directions are easy to follow. There's three different books that focus on a different piece of the set so you don't get confused. The small stickers are such a great addition and really add to the scene overall. I cant recommend this set highly enough!
