LEGO 75947 Hagrid's Hut: Buckbeak's Rescue - Harry Potter

I don’t like insulting LEGO especially since I got this as a gift but...This is an unstable set I built this set the first time for someone else who couldn’t do it themselves, it fell apart as I was building it. Once it was complete it was much sturdier, But it was still a little unstable. Months later I got this set (a brand new one) as a gift it was better then last time but still unstable I pressed the peices down really hard. Amazing set for the Harry Potter lover!

My 10 year old daughter loves to be creative and is obsess with Harry Potter, so when I seen this set I knew I had to get it for her for Christmas. I got this set for $35 on Black Friday. It was worth every penny. My daughters eyes lit up on Christmas morning when she opened this. The directions were clear enough for her to build this all by her self. The set is awesome. It comes with Harry, Ron and heroine and a HUGE Lego Hagrid. My 15 year old brother is an avid Lego collector and has NEVER seen a large Lego character before so that was pretty awesome too!

Cute and feel-good

I wasn't planning to buy this the day it came out, but that evening I found myself walking into the Lego Shop and grabbing it happily. I was planning to buy Patronus, but the bf convinced me that Hagrid's was more of deal considering I could get the little free gift. And I had money on my members card.And there are no regrets.Hagrid's hut is so thoughtfullly designed; the little tools hanging from the ceiling, the dragon egg by the fire, and of course the light brick creating a warm glow. A few small pleasures was seeing the little Lego spoons, and Hermione's hair. And of course there's Buckbeak. Great build, and mini figures.

Great set. I think it does deserve 5 stars. We haven’t had a hagrid’s hut in 9 years, and this one doesn’t fall flat. The mini figures are excellent. This is also the cheapest way to get Hagrid. The inclusion of buckbeak and a mini pumpkin patch is also very nice. The hut though is gorgeous. I wouldn’t say it’s particularly spacious, and it does lack a bit of playability. However, I prefer to display my sets, and I’m finally glad we have two sides of the hut. This was something we missed from the other versions. The fireplace light brick feature is fine, but the interior is very cosy. I love all the little details, from the hanging cauldron and whip, to the brick-built desk and armchair. Overall, this set is amazing! When the images for the new Harry Potter sets were revealed, Hagrid's Hut definitely caught my eye. For starters, it is the first Hagrid's Hut that utilizes the "two hut" look which is seen in the movies. The rooms inside are spacious and do offer a good amount of space for the mini figures. A light brick (to illuminate the fireplace with the dragon egg) is included, which is great, since light bricks are pretty rare. One of my favorite parts of the hut, are the several objects that hang from the ceiling, a meat cleaver, a bucket, a whip, a spoon, and a gold frying pan. More gamekeeper equipment is provided in the bin by the door with a lantern, Hagrid's magical umbrella, and a shovel. Walden McNair and Cornelius Fudge appear in mini figure form for the first time, I believe. Hagrid is included as well as Harry, Ron, and Hermione. Hermione is my favorite minifig as she wears the Time Turner. Buckbeak is also provided and looks spectacular and so is a pumpkin patch. The cons of the set are, that due to Hagrid's large form, he is unable to sit in any of the chairs or armchair. Also, where is Fang? (Hagrid's loyal dog) As far as I know, he has never been part of any sets, so it would have been nice to include him.

Lego Hagrids Hut: Buckbeaks Rescue Set

Great set from LEGO - knocked it out of the park with another Harry Potter series set! LEGO Hagrids Hut: Buckbeaks Rescue is just the right challenge my teen and pre-teen who will focus for hours on completing their Lego sets. Building is learning and and growing! The Lego pieces and colors are well-designed, the directions easy to follow.

Most Improved Harry Potter set!

I absolutely love this set! Hagrid’s Hut is by far the most improved Harry Potter set for 4 reasons! 1. The hut actually has 2 parts! If you watch the movies you will notice that the hut has a larger main structure but a smaller little room on the side! I find this to be very iconic and was disappointed that LEGO had never captured this...until now! It was an eye opener seeing the press release for this set so I’m very pleased with the way the structure turned out! 2. There are exclusive never before seen mini-figs! In past sets we only have gotten a reused Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Hagrid. But in this one we not only get those But we get 2 completely new and perfectly executed minifigs (Fudge and the executioner)! 3. Scammed

I understand I should have inspected the product better upon arrival, and that is 100% my fault. BUT. I saved this for my son for Christmas or his birthday (February). It ended up working for his birthday. We just opened it and not only are ALL of the mini figs gone, some of the pieces for the hut are gone too as the bags were opened and LEFT OPEN. The box was sealed when received, but whatever was used to reseal it had come undone by the time his birthday rolled around. LEGO is expensive. The aftermarket LEGO industry is huge. Im trying to be sustainable in my purchasing of aftermarket LEGO sets and will willingly buy used sets, knowing I need to buy additional pieces. This purchase was NOT one of those situations.

The Pumpkin Patch

First off lets talk about the Light Brick. I had no idea what this was prior to purchasing this kit, turns out it is what it says, it is a clear brick with an LED bulb inside that is triggered by a switch mechanism. In the case of this kit it creates a light up effect in the fireplace so it looks like Norbert's unhatched egg is being warmed by the fire. We slid it on to a middle shelf that is quite dark and it does give quite a reasonable amount of illumination.The build is a little fiddly as there is a lot going on in each half of the hut but nothing too onerous. It was still a lot of fun to build. My favourite bit is actually Buckbeak chained in the Pumpkin Patch, it is not the most elaborate bit of the build but it is perhaps my favourite because it just looks ... MoreFirst off lets talk about the Light Brick.
