My dog is not an aggressive chewer as he is a 5 lbs Chihuahua, but he logs this toy. The rope inside the bear is great for tugging and adds durability opposed to having stuffing inside. These come in a few sizes so my dog has this one, the small/medium, and the xsmall. Itâs been a year, he plays with it regularly and it is still in great condition. When toys last I donât mind spending money on it. This one happens to be reasonably priced and has not needed replacement so itâs a win/win! The exterior is soft like a teddy better, making the rope not noticeable if your dog wants to curl up with it.

This Bear has been renamed as Bret. Our rescue Rottweiler, who had never had toys prior to her new home. It is now one of her new baby's that is really durable and has survived well over 10 hours of play. The patches, eyes and nose have not been damaged; a true Kong. Additionally, I would get the toy storage bag from Chewy as depicting in the photo. This is a great stimulator of the brain. She will look in her bag and have to make decisions of the toy that she wants. We have been amazed that she will remove a toy to get a toy not seen--totally funny to witness. This is a must toy.

My dog loves stuffed animals, but i hate picking up stuffing. My dog ripped it open still to get the squeaker and continued to play with the toy afterwards, and i didnt have to clean up stuffing. Win win! I donât understand why people assume they are indestructible, the description says they are designed with no stuffing so there is less clean up, insinuating it will get ripped open eventually. The rubber toys are the indestructible chew toys if thats what you want. These are less mess âstuffedâ animals, so if your dog is a stuffed animal lover these are for you.

My dog loves teddies, unfortunately in his paws (jaws) their life expectancy is usually 5 minutes or less. They are chewed, chomped, chucked, chased and chewed some more. They have a hard, short life! This is the second knotty teddy we've had (they aren't indestructible!) after the last one was retired after at least a couple of months. The ears don't last long, but having chewed them off and left for me to stand on the soggy remains in bare feet, the rest of the bear remains intact and is well loved by its owner. Definitely cheaper to replace this every now and then, than the cheaper versions several times a day!
My dog plays rough! Most toy animals lose their ears within the first two minutes of play, then their stuffing is pulled out and distributed all over my house. Apparently, these are Maraâs goals for every animal toy she sees. Once these goals have been met sheâs no longer interested and the poor little animal sits in the toy bin, never to played with again. But I have to tell you, Mr Bear is doing amazingly well and has held up great so far! Even his little ears are still hanging tough! Best part is the rope inside makes it harder for her to chew through the outer layer, giving Mr Bear a much better chance of surviving around here. She even sleeps with him :)P.S. I will update this review if anything changes, and of course once Mr Bear passes away. Iâm sure yâall ... MoreMy dog plays rough! Title: Disappointing Durability: A Review of the Kong Wild Knots Bear Dog ToyAs an owner of a lively 9-month-old Swiss Shepherd pup, I'm always on the lookout for durable toys to keep him entertained and engaged. However, my experience with this toy left much to be desired.Despite its sturdy appearance, the Kong Wild Knots Bear Dog Toy failed to withstand the relentless chewing of my pup. Within a mere day, he managed to chew off one of the bear's arms to access the knots hidden inside. Within a mere day, he managed to chew off one of the bear's arms to access the knots hidden inside. This was a significant disappointment, especially considering that I'm well aware that no toy is indestructible, but I expected more resilience from a product specifically designed for larger dogs. While I understand that toys can't last forever, the fact that this one didn't even last a day was disheartening. It fell short of my expectations and left me feeling dissatisfied with my purchase. As a result, I won't be purchasing this item again, and I'll be cautious when considering other products from the Kong Wild Knots line.In conclusion, while the Kong Wild Knots Bear Dog Toy may appeal to pet owners seeking durable options for their canine companions, my experience highlights its shortcomings in durability, particularly with larger breeds. If durability is a priority for you, I would advise exploring alternative options rather than investing in this particular toy.
My dog loved this bear until it literally almost killed. I'm not sure when or how, but he got the rope out of it. He's had several of these bears and I always throw them away when they start to show signs of wear, but this time I didn't have that chance. He got some of the rope out and swallowed it causing a linear intestinal blockage, the most dangerous type of bowel obstruction for a dog. I'm lucky to have a top notch emergency veterinary hospital with surgeons on staff within an hour from my house. They were able to operate and remove the rope. After a couple days in the hospital, a new scar across his entire abdomen and over $9,000 later, my boy is back home. I would highly advise not purchasing any of the Kong knot toys. Based on their disclaimer, I'm certain ... MoreMy dog loved this bear until it literally almost killed. I'm not sure when or how, but he got the rope out of it. Bought this for our lab, Buddy. While it seems well built it didnât make it 24 hours :-(. He immediately took to opening up a hole. Out came the squeeker, Temple of Doom style. Next he pulled the ropes as though reenacting the Braveheart torture scene. Although I didnât hear any cries of âFreedom!â from the bear. He still loves it and carries it around, the little sicko that he is. Alas, our mission to find an indestructible bear continues.
I never expect a toy to be indestructible and this toy is not. However, it was instantly loved. On day 1, an ear was breached and some stuffing was pulled out. On days 2 - 9, some more stuffing came out from the same chewed ear. On day 10, my dog managed to pull out the squeaker but the toy was still significantly intact. Getting to the squeaker is the primary objective. My dog isn't a constant toy chewer so I can't predict another dog's abilities but this toy is solid and, after stuffing is removed, the rope in the body remains.
Bought on a whim before a camping trip. My toy poodle (on the bigger side at 10 lbs) is. Obsessed with this toy. The bear - as she knows it - can be entertainment for hours. It sometimes has to hibernate on top of the fridge or in the hall closetâŠshe doesnât destroy it she justâŠloves it. I throw it and she buries it in blankets and cuddles it and wants it thrown again. She is so obsessed I have actually now bought several in case they stop making themâŠthis bear is weirdly the one. Canât explain it. She has probably 50 other toys in various bins all over but itâs a serious love and obsession for âbear.â
