As it was A Kong toy I was expecting better. It's basically a Kong tennis ball with a nylon rope going through it. My little dog chewed straight through the robe in seconds! I may as well of just bought a ball. Disappointing.

Bought this for my shichon puppy as one of his first toys. This is by far his favorite toy, plays with it every day. We have had him just under a year and we are on our third purchase of this toy. The rope is a different material then a typical tug rope toy, which I think is why he likes it so much, however, I think that is also why it doesn't last that long. The ball portion stays in fairly good shape with the usual fuzz wear of a normal tennis ball. The rope fibers thin out and get to the point where the knots loosen and just won't stay tied. If he goes through it this quickly, I can't imagine it lasting very long for a larger dog.

I purchased this for my dog's birthday and he loves it. He loves playing catch with virtually anything though to be honest! It's a good strong toy as you'd expect from Kong, it's easy to throw (and fun to catch). My only complaint would be that apart from the first day or two, I haven't heard it squeak - even if I stamp on it.

Got this along with the Kong ball with rope on Monday. Same result as below. I assumed since this looked like a toy for a big dog, that my 25lb, 7 month old cocker spaniel that it would last. Pulled the toys out of the box on Monday. Both cockers played tug o war for a bit. But 20 minutes later the 7 MTh old had chewed through the rope and pieces were all over the house. But, the Kong ball is still good.
I love these Kongs on a rope! I have a bad shoulder yet I can throw these extremely far and long. My dogs love them and we occasionally play a little tug with them . However, they are NOT chew toys! No tennis ball type product should ever be left out for a puppy or dog unless strictly supervised. They are for active games!Those who complained that their dog chewed it up in an hour....get up and play with your dog! They chew because you are not stimulating enough.
I have two German Shepherds who are so play driven and this ball does it for them. It's so lightweight that when I throw it, it flies and goes so far. And, the plus is that it squeaks! My dogs favorite time of day is when they see me coming with this ball, they know it's Playtime. I've tried many balls on a rope and this by far is the best for us!
This design is something I've been looking for for ages, a squeaky tennis ball on a rope- perfect for agility training. HOWEVER you have to squeeze it really hard to get it to squeak (my little dog has never managed it) and then a slobbery great collie got hold of it and now it doesn't squeak at all! It kind of blows bubbles instead. I can still use it without the squeak (when all the slobber comes off) but i could have put a bit of rope through a tennis ball myself, for pennies. I am dissapointed as my search continues...

This has resolved the issue and it has become one of his favourite toys, but he still does prefer a ball. We were a bit surprised to see that the rope is made of some sort of nylon thread which is predictably fraying. However in our case, it has sort of stood the test of time over the last few weeks from our 7 month old Cockapoo, but I would be cautious with this for very destructive dogs as the cord could well be destroyed very quickly. We are generally pleased with the toy, but we have noticed exactly the same product for a few pence less in our local pet shop. However, not everybody has a pet shop like this around the ... Product looks similar to the other kong I bought from target. Bought these because it was a good value for 3. These are extremely firm and I can barely manage to squeak it with using full force from both my hands. My dog is unable to squeak it or compress/bite the tennis balls. All 3 were the exact same. Seller says they are genuine kong, not sure why kong would make them like this suddenly when I have been buying this exact product previously and it was easy to squeak and like a normal tennis ball for my dog to enjoy.
this toy is dangerous. my pup ripped the rope apart in less than a minute then started choking on it. rope is made of some weird metal like material that got stuck in his throat. eventually he threw up and that cleared his throat but it was a terrible experience.
