I received this stand mixer as a Mother’s Day gift from my two boys and husband last month, and I absolutely love it! I’m an aspiring home baker, specializing in cookies, and so far this has been a game changer for me. It has cut down on the time it takes me to whip up a new batch of cookies. Also, due to how evenly and efficiently it mixes up the batter, the texture of my cookies have significantly improved, much creamier with chewy centers, which is ideal for any cookie lover! It’s so easy to clean. I cannot say enough great things about this awesome product. Looking forward to purchasing the other attachments for my Kitchen Aid stand mixer, that I know will make cooking for my family quicker and easier.

My husband brought me my Kitchenaid for Christmas after wanting one for years! It really is an expense but it’s worth every Penny. I haven’t stopped using it since I got it, for cakes, pasta, bread…the list is endless. It’s so much easier than a hand whisk or even a handheld electric whisk. I love the option to be able to add a huge range of attachments, that was one of my main reasons for wanting the Kitchenaid specifically. Not only does it perform great, it looks great! Because it’s got such a good reputation, it’s a well known all over the world, repairs are easy for these machines when something does pop up. There’s lots of hints and tips online regarding Kitchenaid products. I have owned several KitchenAid mixers over the years. My mother had one that lasted over 40 years. Unfortunately, they don't make them quite that durable anymore. I bought the 4.5 quart as I am living in temporary quarters. It is doing the job, but there are a few things purchasers should be aware of.First, make note of the motor capabilities. I halved a batch of Italian buttercream and it could barely handle the whipping when it got fully cooled and ready to start dropping in the butter.Second, the bowl DOES NOT have a handle. This is an unfortunate design flaw to increase profits by omitting the material used for the handle. For this reason alone, as soon as I can get to my professional mixer this one will be re-homed.Grateful to KitchenAid for the less ... MoreI have owned several KitchenAid mixers over the years. I bought my new mixer after Christmas with money I'd received as gifts. In comparing it to the mixer I received at my wedding, I've noticed some differences. The edges don't seem to be as smoothly finished as my old one. There are subtle differences in the beaters and the flat beater and dough hook seem to weigh less than the old beaters. Just hope they hold up for another 40 years (of course, it's unlikely that I'll hold up for another 40 years!). The beater was adjusted too high, I discovered while watching a video that showed me how to correct a non-functioning locking mechanism. I'd contacted customer support three times about this - twice, I was put on hold for an hour. Once I sent an email that has yet to be answered. The beater was adjusted too high, I discovered while watching a video that showed me how to correct a non-functioning locking mechanism. I'd contacted customer support three times about this - twice, I was put on hold for an hour. Once I sent an email that has yet to be answered. And a fourth time while attempting to conduct an automated chat, I was told that it couldn't be used due to high volume. For a company with KitchenAid's reputation, this is unacceptable. I was also surprised that there wasn't a more thorough owner's manual. Perhaps this is because there is so much available online, but even the paper that the small manual is printed on is rather flimsy. I rather like to refer to a paper I can hold. I will say, though, that the video on the KitchenAid website showing me how to adjust the set screw did the trick and my mixer head stays in the locked position now. The fix was easy, but why couldn't the automated "chat" feature have referred me to that site? I'm happy with the way the mixer is operating, though I've only made cookies once and whole wheat bread twice. However, the real test for me will come only with time - will this new mixer hold up as well as my first one? I hope so. I will also add that now with a KitchenAid mixer in place, my kitchen feels complete again. It's a pleasure to use it and I look forward to MANY years of use.
I've had my classic mixer for 15 years and it continues to prove itself countertop worthy. I've never had any issues with it and it even helped me start a temporary home baking business when I was out of a job for a year. I was pumping out thousands of cookies each week and it held up very well. The only thing that happened was that the rotating piece on the base slid out over time, but all I had to do was take a rubber mallet and hammered it back in. The only thing I don't like about it is the color, but it was purchased during Black Friday so I got what was available. I just bought a white one for my aunt because I love it so much. She was efficient and so kind helping me with my product parts return. 12/10 would recommend to anyone considering this mixer.
Received the mixer as advertised. Many of my friends already have this mixer so I knew what to expect (some for 35 years!). Used this the very next day after I received it to make several desserts. A real powerhouse. Cakes were light and fluffy. Like that I'm able to walk away and get other ingredients ready while this mixes on it's own. Mixer is very heavy so I made sure I found a convenient place to keep it where I won't have to constantly move it. As shown in the picture, the bowl does not have a handle and it comes with 3 attachments (whip, dough hook and beater blade). Options exist for beater blade with scraper and bowl with handle which are extra and I will probably purchase separately. Highly recommend!
There are no surprises with KitchenAid. It's been around as long as your great Grandma and there's a reason for that, because it's simply the best mixer you can own. The problem that the modern era has brought to KitchenAid, is the multiple choices, with varying motors. Not so surprisingly, with the exception of color, they all basically look the same. If you're wondering why one is far less expensive than the other, check out the wattage. They seem to make that difficult to find as well. The wattage is the muscle and with plenty of it, you can worry less about working that motor into the ground. Either way, you're going to end up with a product that generations ad nauseum have depended on...and continue to do so today.
I got this my first stand mixer , this kitchen aid classic in onyx black . It works well for making doughs for roti and soft breads. I made cake batter , chocolate chip cookies , whipped cream , custard and it works great. Easy to use and clean up is a breeze. Sits pretty on my countertop without occupying too much space . Since I only cook for 2 to 4 people , I felt this was the right size at a reasonable cost. Am considering buying a bowl with handle as an accessory, might be more useful with pouring batters although no handle is not a deal breaker . I was debating between this and the deluxe model but I think the 25 watts less does not impede anything I want to do . I am loving it and wish it lasts me for a long time .
We had a 4.5 Qt KitchenAid tilt-head stand mixer for many years and used it frequently for bread dough, cookies, and other baking. Our house and everything in it burned down in last year's wildfires, and we had to replace everything. It was a no-brainer that we would get another KitchenAid 4.5 qt tilt-head mixer. Unfortunately, we find this one to be not up to par with the one we lost. Its power isn't as good -- even at low speeds the motor sounds rough, almost like it is struggling, even just beating egg whites. The other big disappointment was the bowl that comes standard with this unit. No handle? Come on! The handle is essential for easily removing the bowl from the mixer stand. Its power isn't as good -- even at low speeds the motor sounds rough, almost like it is struggling, even just beating egg whites. The other big disappointment was the bowl that comes standard with this unit. No handle? Come on! The handle is essential for easily removing the bowl from the mixer stand. Without a handle, it is a difficult two-handed operation. It's an interesting reflection of KitchenAid's marketing that although the brushed finish, handle-less bowl is standard with the mixer, it is not an accessory one can buy. Instead, a bowl purchased separately has the mirror-finish and a handle. Of course -- that's what people want! Fortunately, we did buy a second bowl, so we have one that's user-friendly, altho in the situations where we need 2 bowls we have to put up with this one. It's also interesting that the pictures make it hard to see that the bowl has no handle, and in fact one of the pictures under "Features" ("Easily add ingredients with the tilt-head design") clearly shows a mirrored-finish bowl with a handle. That is deceptive. One would have to carefully study the comparisons with the deluxe model to realize the bowl difference, which we would not be likely to do if we weren't expecting a different bowl. We also bought a juicer attachment, which was so disappointing that I'd rate it a 1 -- but that will be a separate review. All in all, we'd still buy a KitchenAid mixer again, but we aren't quite as enthusiastic as we used to be.
I’ve been eyeballing KitchenAid stand mixers for years, but never could fully afford to purchase one. Knowing this my husband surprised me and purchased me the classic mixer and boy I am loving it. The first thing I made was a homemade cake, I even made my own homemade butter then I made some cookies lol let’s just say this appliance isn’t collecting dust like some other countertop things I have. What I love is the ease of using the mixer and I’m excited about the different attachments. I think it’s great that ALL attachments fit to work with ALL of the mixers instead of having to buy different machines. I feel like the possibilities are endless to what you can create with your KitchenAid stand mixer I know that I am up for the challenge.
