I purchased this for an overseas trip for wear on a trip where the evening s and mornings in some parts can be cool and for general wear to and from destination. Not used yet but on first look is perfect for my purpose and sale price was a bargain. I would not have purchased at the original product price as it did not represent a reasonable value for this product.

I bought this jacket online. It was awesome but was not as lightweight as the one I was trying to replace. It also had a silvery foil bit on the lining around the neck. For those two reasons this jacket IMO is not for a Melbourne office or indoor cafe outing, is more casual say for watching football. It was if good quality and a great price

I needed a down jacket for inside use in Queenstown NZ as I am keeping my home colder than I used to keep it. It is perfect for this use. Don't expect to use this for outdoor cold winter use though as 600 fill is just NOT enough for that. Given that, it can be worn under another jacket and then it would be fine. If you are looking for an outdoor jacket in a cold winter climate like I live in, you must get at least 750 fill. Unfortunately a quick scan of this store didn't return any 750 fill jackets (I have one that I bought several years ago from here and it's excellent). Yes I know about Global Warming, but the winters still demand 750 fill.

It's like a cosy blanket you can wear out and about. It keeps you really warm but doesn’t feel heavy.It can be squished into a small size, thanks to its built in pocket bag making it easy to carry around when you’re not wearing it.The jacket isn't made for rain, but it can take light splashes because of its durable water repellent coating.It looks nice, feels comfy, and the price is pretty good for what you get.Great for everyday use or when you’re out on a chilly day.
Heli Men’s 600 - never been so disappointed with a product I have purchased from Kathmandu prior because the filling was constantly coming out of the first one I had replaced.Second jacket just as bad and I do not accept the comments from the Hobart store that it is normal for these jackets.My other clothes are constantly covered in the filling that comes out which is very messy and upsetting to be frank.Other brands have never done this so often, badly and I will never buy anything like this from Kathmandu again. Lemon!!!Terrible quality!!!
I buy most of my clothing from Kathmandu and this seemed a good replacement for an 4yo jacket that travelled many times around the world. It’s very light and reasonably warm, but on the 3rd day of wearing it I noticed it was shedding feathers often. Then on the 4th outing I brushed past a tree and it tore a decent hole in the jacket. The Kathmandu store told me places that could repair it, but I contacted Kathmandu to say I didn’t think the quality was great in general and they just said get it repaired. Given the price of the item I expected more and after the experience with customer service will not be so brand loyal in the future.

After 1 year the fill will disintegrate and clump no longer provide any warmth factor. The issue vs the normal Heli feather version is, the fibre doesn’t bounce back to shape after several wash. It gives an uneven limp deflated feel. I wore this through a cold week in Canberra winter and got chest cold due to the jacket no longer function as it should. I have 3 other Heli jacket, on for over 10 years and the hooded version survived Japan trip in winter.This Thermore version is total dud. Avoid this. Get the normal feather ones or different brands.Kathmandu service didn’t really acknowledge my complaint about this.
