Kanto YU4MW Bluetooth Powered Speakers - 140 Watts - Phono Preamp (Matte White)

Overall, YU4 was an upgrade over my Audioengine A2+. It provides a deeper sound stage and stronger bass. I like the remote and a front-panel volume control. There are two minor issues that I notice. First, there is an auto-shutdown function that turns off the speaker if it plays in a low volume after a while. I have to turn the volume up a little bit to keep that from triggering. Second, it only allows only one input source to play at any given time. With A2+, I was able to play games while streaming podcast to the speakers. Both are minor issues and I would pick this over A2+ any day.

Amazing speakers for the small size.

These speakers produce an amazing sound given their small size. They are very well balanced, and the included remote allows you to adjust the bass and treble to further fine tune the sound. I've turned these speakers up and there was no distortion at higher decibel levels. Overall, I am pleasantly surprised with these YU4's. Speakers this small shouldn't produce such a full bodied sound. I am very happy with this purchase.

Great Speakers

Outstanding speakers. Make sure to open your audio console and turn off ALL equalization and sound effects. At first, the sound was terrible, but once I cancelled all the equalization and sound effects, the speakers truly shined. Highly recommended.

Have had these for years & very happy

I have had a pair of the Kanto YU4 for over 3 years now. I am still very happy using them hooked up to my desktop. Having the bluetooth option is handy as well. I have never felt the need for additional sub bass with this pair. I must add that even though these have a amp built in, I run my through a dac/amp combo mainly for the dac. The dac does color the sound somewhat so I can't judge the speakers base sound. I honestly have had them running from the dac the entire time. Games or music/movies all sound great with them.

Impressive fidelity in an attractive case

I've had the YU4s in the bedroom for about six months and continue to be very impressed with the quality of sound from these powered speakers. They are perfect for use with your phone or tablet and they have every kind of input for just about any other media. The highs are incredibly clear and bright and they have surprisingly rich lows for bookshelf size speakers. The sound fills the bedroom space well and the bamboo finish, shape and exposed design blend great with the decor. All aspects of these YU4s from the packaging to the sound are high quality and as usual, the buying experience and service from B and H is the best.

Quality Speakers With a "Plain Jane" Design

These speakers produce rich, full, high-quality sound with nice treble and decent bass. Also, their built-in amplifier plays pretty loud. However, from an aesthetic standpoint they are very plain and uninspiring in appearance. They are drab-looking blocks with no beveled edges and even lack speaker grills to protect their drivers, which is puzzling.Nice looking speaker grills would give these speakers an elegant, finished appearance that better matches their quality sound. Their absence only makes them look like old speakers that have been owned by an idiot who tore them off after accidentally damaging them. The so-called "minimalist" styling of so many products today only makes them look cheap and low-quality. Thankfully, the sound these YU4 speakers produce ... MoreThese speakers produce rich, full, high-quality sound with nice treble and decent bass. Also, their built-in amplifier plays pretty loud. Toslink input has annoying high-pitch whine

I bought these over the AudioEngine because of the built in toslink to use with my older Macbook Pro. However, regardless of the cable used or the computer used, these speakers emit a high-pitched whine when using toslink. Same whine whether on Toslink 1 or 2. It's annoying and if I had discovered it sooner, I would have returned them. Yes, computer outputs only stereo -- not 5.1 or pcm. Otherwise these sound okay with a sub.

Wioq - Excellent Speakers

Great sound in a small package (near audiophile range). Added bonus of a remote control and pre-amp for a record player. Excellent first step into becoming an audiophile. With Downloads playing through via my iPhone you can really hear the difference in excellent recorded music and very marginal ones...highly recommend... my next step is to add a sub-woofer and then a record player.

You can't turn Bluetooth off.

The speakers sound okay, I felt like for near field listening my M1 Macbook Pro speakers sounded just as good. The reason why I returned these speakers is because you can't turn Bluetooth off which is bad if you live in a Apartment where neighbors can constantly connect to your speakers. I wish if they atleast added a pairing button. There is no USB input at this price the speakers should have it especially if the Kanto YU2 has one.
