This smell is super unique. Like nothing I’ve ever smelt before. I’m a gourmand girl but absolutely love a woody, spicy, oud, tobacco style scent. I saw the word ‘wood’ in this and thought I’d give it a try. Although nothing as expected, it’s a beautiful unisex scent. I received a small sample in exchange for this post and brought it on a beach vacation with me. The most perfect scent ever. Fresh, Salty, slightly earthy very light ocean scent. My brother and I shared the scent for a few days and it was perfect for my vacation. I can’t talk on the longevity as I was in the ocean an hour after putting it on. But it is light.

I am a fan of fresh, woody and oriental scents like Prada Infusion D’Iris and Lolita Lempicka. This one is definitely in the fresh and woody family, but to me - it smells nothing like sea salt or sage, or anything beach-related. Nevertheless, I love this scent because it is unlike anything I’ve smelled before. The best way I can describe this scent is that there is a slight sweetness in this cologne, the woods are warm and inviting, and the freshness sparkles. It is very airy and soft, and I think it’s actually a wonderful fragrance for cold winter days. I’d wear it in the summer too, but I think its warm woody quality makes it perfect for the winter. Because it’s not extremely strong or overpowering, it’s perfect to wear at work too.

This is such a gorgeous scent!! I recently had the chance to review a sample of this cologne in exchange for my honest review. First and foremost, this is an absolutely beautiful scent. Walking along the coast of Italy in the most beautiful linen set with your sunglasses on. You get that aquatic, clean scent that is wearable everyday. This just gives posh, regal, clean girl vibes that I can’t get enough of. It is not a beast mode fragrance so I had to spray a few times to get some projection and lasting power out of this. I have it about 4 hours on my skin but perhaps maceration would help. Would love this even more if the lasting power was a bit longer. Overall though, this is a magnificent scent that I’m in love with!

While I did receive this product to review, I will always give my honest opinion. Scent: Fresh aquatics, salt, and scents of being by the beach are what first hit you when you give this cologne and a good sniff. The saltiness of this gives you a feeling of refreshing and light. While the wood sage undertone of the scent makes this lean a bit more masculine, it is labeled as unisex. My partner liked the scent more than I did, so I gave it to him to wear. Longevity: Gave this a full day longevity test to see how well it holds up. While later in the night you could barely notice the scent, it was mildly still there. It is good and strong for the first couple of hours and then begins to drift off. I liked this Jo Malone wood sage & sea salt cologne more than I thought I would. Woody fragrances aren’t my favorite, but this one has other scent notes that mellow it out and make it not too intense. The top note of ambrette seeds is nice when first applying. The scent turns into something more creamy and almost seems like there’s a hint of vanilla when the base notes of sage start coming through after a few hours. The longevity of the cologne is also very good. It lasted for around 6 or 7 hours for me. Overall I was very pleasantly surprised by this scent! This would be a good one to dip your toes in if you aren’t sure if you’d like woody scents.

I am a fragrance enthusiast and I have picked up the habit of exploring different scents. I have come to learn that I like EDPs, scents that are strong, long lasting and can be layered. I like different notes including woody, floral, vanilla, amber, bergamot, and oriental. I was very excited to try the Jo Malone Wood sage and sea salt cologne. The smell of the cologne is amazing, all the way from the top notes, to the base notes. It was not an overwhelming smell. It didn’t smell too masculine or woody which is an issue I sometimes run into with woody scents. It is also great for layering. The only issue I have with this fragrance is that it did not last long. Very little longevity.
I was very excited to try this fragrance from Jo Malone! I am normally a vanilla/gourmand kind of gal, so these notes were a little out of my comfort zone! HOWEVER, when I tell you this scent blew me away… it blew me away. I normally feel like woody scents are too masculine for my taste, but this has a beautiful softness to it. Almost coastal like. I can picture myself wearing this on a coastal vacation but with a touch of mountains. The longevity of this fragrance is lasting as well. I can spray it in the morning and still smell it after an 8 hour day at work. I’m so glad I was able to try this because on the notes alone, I would’ve totally stayed clear!
