When I first saw the PartyBox I thought, "It's just a big speaker." Wrong - in fact, I couldn't have been more wrong. The PartyBox is an incredible piece of audio equipment which could be used as an in-home entertainment system with a TV or phone, all the way to a fully-functioning karaoke box for parties, weddings, etc. I cannot overstate how high quality the sound is, as well as the sheer volume when you want it. We switched out a ~$200 soundbar with our TV for this and you'd think the former was a rear-mounted speaker coming out of a tube TV. We picked up on the subtlety of sounds in shows and movies we'd never heard before and enjoyed new ranges in songs we'd listened to hundreds of times. Everything from the laughtrack on old sitcoms, to the treble and annunciation of lyrics, to the magnificent bass from a car crash in a movie sounds clear and crisp. I wondered if it was really only good when used at high capacity, and was pleased when I could still use the speaker to watch golf early in the morning while everyone sleeps. One of the best features of the PartyBox is it's connectivity options. You can connect two devices which allows it to be used as an entertainment center around a TV, but can also switch over instantly to be a speaker for a party or background music from your phone while you make dinner. It can certainly be used specifically as a professional karaoke box (see pictures with review for single/multiple microphone plugs). It also has a pairing feature JBL included if you wanted to join two PartyBoxes together. Additionally, there are Gain 1 & 2 plugs on the machine - I, unfortunately, have no experience in these. For additional inputs, the PartyBox has a USB and AUX port to allow connection of non-Bluteooth devices. The funniest thing I found was were the buttons on top of the machine (1-3) which, when pressed, play an airhorn, clapping, or record scratching. While I haven't used this for karaoke yet, I'm sure those would be fun additions for any singer/DJ. Overall I recommend this product wholeheartedly. It is so much fun, has such amazing quality and power, and adds a nice touch to anyone who might host a party or movie nights.

Did a bunch of research to buy a new loudspeaker. Have a pair of SONY GTK-XB7's in my shop, but got tired of taking them back and forth to our campsite. The SONY's are just as fine, but wanted something with more THUMP. Checked these out in the store. ALMOST got the next biggest size but glad I didn't, they're a little overkill for me. This speaker is a BEAST with THUNDERING bass and crisp highs at high volumes. I'm debating to get another one. It's DEFINITELY a crowd pleaser at the campsite that has about 450 trailers. It is AWESOME when Bluetoothed to my Halloween music and the light show plays to the beat of the music and changes color as well. If you're thinking about it, BUY IT !!!

TLDR: meter tall speaker with huge sound, deep bass, various connectivity methods. Perfect for providing sound for a bumping house party or outdoor event. Perfect rockin karaoke speaker as well with microphone plugins. First things first, this is a very large speaker!!! Sitting on the floor, it comes up to just below my waist. The sound is outstanding! It handles a wide range of music exceptionally. I listened to several sub-genres of electronic music (DnB, Dubstep, House, etc.) as well as some jam bands all the way to bluegrass. It has a powered PA speaker feel to it. This would provide huge sound for any rockin house party! Outside it performs excellent as well! The light show is pretty neat and mesmerizing. Music can be loaded on a USB Drive and plugged in, however there is no way to browse the songs on the USB Drive. It just plays them in order, however you can see what is playing (artist/title) in the associated app. It would be nice to be able to browse the files on the usb drive, but that isn't an option here. I really like the wheels for rolling it around. It definitely beats carrying it everywhere, because it weighs around 70lbs. I would have liked to see a handle molded into the bottom to assist in carrying it downstairs for the party, but it is reasonably easy to grab, so it works. I also wish there was a compartment to store the power cable in. All in all, though, I am very impressed with the sound quality! It has impressive frequency response. It handles sub-bass frequencies very well for bass you can feel. I absolutely recommend this speaker for anyone who throws parties and wants plenty of booming sound!

I think reading the reviews and watching them on YouTube gave me expectations that were too high. I cant find any rms numbers for this speaker is it 800 rms 800 "max" is it truly putting out 800 watts? I've been building speaker and subwoofer enclosures for the last 15 years, if I were to make a true 800 watt speaker it would without a doubt be louder than this that is why I question the 800 watt rating. I got lucky and there were a couple sales and discount codes so I picked it up for almost $200 under it's $800 price tag. I think that was a much more reasonable price considering what you are getting, I definitely would not pay almost $900 with tax for this. The mobility of this is amazing for what it is it's a 60+ lb speaker but the wheels make it quite easy to roll around the house and to the yard.
Let me state for context where I feel the Partybox 710 "fits in" to the JBL product line and speaker offerings in general. It's essentially a "loud speaker" a specific class that is neither a portable speaker/boom box nor a high fidelity home speaker system. And while on wheels, a truly portal speaker this is not. First, it's fairly big (~3 feet/90 cm tall) and heavy (~70 lb/31 kg) and either requires two people to carry or you can roll (sort of) using built-in wheels (more on that at the end). As a loudspeaker it packs plenty of "punch" (volume) and excels in the bass/low-end. I mean WALL SHAKING. I set it up on my deck outside and at less than half volume, I could feel the bass coming through an insulated outside wall with siding into the room inside. That said, ... As a loudspeaker it packs plenty of "punch" (volume) and excels in the bass/low-end. I mean WALL SHAKING. I set it up on my deck outside and at less than half volume, I could feel the bass coming through an insulated outside wall with siding into the room inside. That said, it lacks on the high end (treble) but I believe that is somewhat by design. Loudspeaker systems are intended to be used for larger venues or outdoors for party events where your high-end treble isn't as "meaningful" as your mid-range because it travels more uni-directionally (while bass is omni-directional). The goal is to be loud and to PROJECT sound. With some 800W of power built-in, the 710 can certainly do that although I started to get a bit more distortion above 75% volume (which is still subjectively really loud although I don't own sound meter to test exact decibels). And you can always make some sound adjustments using an EQ on your source. The built in light show is fun for parties or shows although serves little purpose if you just want a big' ol boom box for your large (very large) back yard (and neighbors very far away ;-) ). The control app has basic functions for light control (color, combination selection, etc.), nothing programmable which again I'd expect for a semi-pro line. But pick a style of lights and it does a pretty good job of syncing to the beat and you can use the app to switch those selections "live" if you're doing a little party mixing/DJing. I didn't have the ability test the speaker pairing capabilities but I can't imagine a pair of these things couldn't handle a large party hall/wedding and in stereo must be amazing. My two minor complaints are that the slot provided at the top for holding onto a device (phone/tablet) is clever but too thin for any of my devices in cases. A flip-up style support bar may be a potential solution that comes to mind. The other is that the wheels are just barely helpful. The smallest quarter inch bump and you are grinding to a halt (or yanking your arm off) while rolling along. So forget stairs or even multi-stepped door thresholds. You're going to find yourself bear hugging and lifting it over just about everything. JBL engineers really need to "road test" this aspect of their designs and incorporate a larger wheel with a bit more clearance (and probably then a locking mechanism to keep the speaker where you place it). That said, this is the biggest speaker I've owned from JBL and I'm impressed with the build quality, amplifier power (yes, it needs to be plugged in), sound quality (for a loudspeaker) and features. And despite it's size, I'll likely be lugging it out to my back yard for BBQs and parties because I don't see myself going back to my Extreme 3 boom box now that I've experienced the BOOM (power) of a true loudspeaker. :-)
If Godzilla was a Bluetooth speaker this is what he would be. I had no idea how big this speaker was until it arrived at my door and it required both my wife and I to move it up our stairs into our house. We have owned several JBL bluetooth speakers, but wanted something we can use outside and entertain quests around our pool that is also waterproof. Its funny our other Bluetooth speakers have amazing sound, but when we listen to them and compare to the partybox they sound so cheap and tinny. The purity, clarity, and robust sound that comes from this speaker is on another level. You can adjust the patterns and color of the lights on the front of the speaker. There are actually DJ sound FX to play and there are places to plug in a microphone and electric guitar if needed. You can and will be blown away by this speaker!!!
First off, It's massive the pictures dont do it justice (see photo for dimensions and weight). I do not reccomend if you live in an apartment or have nearby neighbors because your going to want to turn it up. Seriously, I'll start it out soft, listening to some chill tunes and a half hour later I'll notice I've crept up the volume and now my windows are shaking. People love this thing. It sounds cliche but it really is the instant party machine. Something about the light show, the sheer size of it, and overall ridiculousness just draws people in. So far I have only used it for streaming music, I havent plugged in a mic or guitar but in my opinion those are just bonus features. This thing is meant for house shaking parties. That being said, with the slot at the top for a tablet, it would be a pretty awesome karaoke machine. Overall the 710 is massive and ridiculous, but ensures an absolute gaurentee of fun at any event. Pros: Light show is simple or complex as you want it to be with buttons right on the speaker and controls in the app. Bass boost has 2 levels, agian buttons right on the speaker. Can sync up multiple 710s or 310s with the TWS Cons: Has to be plugged in. JBL still doesnt have an adequate speaker syncing feature on their app to sync multiple generations of speakers (ie no way to play music out of the 710 and my flip 2 at the same time)
This is by far one of the best speakers I have experienced with JBL. A place to store a phone or tablet on the speaker. Bluetooth capabilities or can plug in a device. Cons: Heavy, it is a little difficult for transportation for a smaller person. I am also afraid that if you get too much momentum you can accidentally run over your feet or the speaker can fall on a little child causing serious injuries. I also feel that you would have a difficult time moving the speaker from upstairs to downstairs, vice versa and the speaker would likely need to be stationary in one room. Also, it would be a hassle to take this on the go to events without the need of another person assisting you with the move. There is no place to put the power cord when speaker is not in use so you are left wrapping the cord around the handle
The JBL PartyBox 710 is an impressive free-standing bluetooth speaker that really packs a punch. What I really like about the 710 is just how loud it can get. This thing can be the sole speaker at a block party and won't break a sweat. The great thing is even at loud volumes, there is no sound distortion that you get with smaller speakers. I also really enjoy the attention to detail that was put into the 710. For example, the lights around the 8" speakers indicate the current volume level as your adjusting it. The current firmware update percentage is also displayed using the lights around the speakers. The physical buttons on the top of the 710 feel great. They're substantial and are of high quality. The physical buttons on the top of the 710 feel great. They're substantial and are of high quality. I feel like the party lights on the front of the speaker are gimmicky. Fortunately, they are easily disabled with a button on the top of the speaker, or through the PartyBox App. I wish the PartyBox 710 included an internal battery. If this could be taken to somewhere remote where you don't have power, it would, in my opinion, be perfect. I understand why one wasn't included, since the 710 weighs a massive 68lbs, a battery would only increase its substantial weight. I really don't like the "DJ effect” sound effects that are played through the PartyBox App. It seems they are only played at maximum volume, and don't integrate into the music or the vibe at all. Unfortunately, I could only test the Bluetooth capabilities of the 710, I don't have an Aux cord, microphone, electric guitar, or another 710 to test its other functions. Overall, the PartyBox 710 is a purpose-built free-standing powerhouse that can invigorate any party. If you’re looking for a speaker that can do it all while sacrificing mobility and small size, then look no further.
The JBL PARTYBOX 710 is everything you will ever need to get the party started and keep it going strong! With the fantastic party light show, along with the 800 watts of pure JBL PRO power, this baby fills even the largest venue with party sights and sounds. The only drawback is that there is no place to store the cord when not in use or while transporting the PARTYBOX which makes it easy to misplace. This thing is controlled by buttons on the box itself and with an app you can download to your phone that gives you more control. The app allows you to control the party box from a distance. The app also gives you more control with unlimited light shows and more sound effects. This PARTYBOX is totally versatile. You can plug in a microphone to use it for karaoke, as a DJ, or a public address system. You can also plug in a guitar to play along with the music. The PARTYBOX can play music in a number of ways. Bluetooth, an auxiliary cable, a USB cable from your phone, and a USB thumb drive that has music downloaded onto it in, .mp3, .wma, and .wav formats. One of my favorite things about this PARTYBOX is the dazzling light show that syncs with whatever music you are playing. JBL is known for their sound but they could soon be known for their light shows on this PARTYBOX. There are controls on the PARTYBOXC to change the light shows, and if that wasn't enough, with the PARTYBOX app, you can choose any color you can think of giving you an endless supply of different dazzling light shows. You can even daisy-chain more PARTYBOXES with yours or add up to two TWS, (true wireless speakers), to round out the sound. As always, the sound is pure JBL. In my opinion, nothing compares with this crystal clear sound with great bass. With 800 watts of pure JBL PRO sound, a dazzling light show, sound effects, and the many different ways to play your music, this JBL PARTYBOX 710 is definitely the ultimate party animal. This is a must have product and highly recommended for DJ's, anyone doing karaoke, or everyone who loves to party!
