JBL Flip 5 Waterproof Portable Bluetooth Speaker - Black

I bought this speaker about 2 years ago and have been incredibly impressed with it. The sound quality is absolutely amazing and the battery life is great. I have yet to find a speaker of this size that is louder or better sounding. All of the claims made about this speaker are true and this is a truly Impressive product. HOWEVER, I do have two slight bothers with this speaker that I would love to see be fixed in the Flip 6. The first and most pressing of these issues is the speakers ability to play while charging. I have noticed that when the speaker is charging and playing at full volume, it slowly looses power and eventually dies. this may be due to my speakers age, but feature that I would like to see added to future flip models is pass through charging. If this speaker could be played directly off the power going into it, it would avoid this issue and put less strain on the battery when plugged in. The second of these issues is purely cosmetic. I have noticed that when the bumpers on the side of the speaker are impacted, they develop bubbles. This is not a big deal at all, but something that seems like it is an easy fix. Overall this is the best speaker I have ever owned and it is well worth the price, especially if it is on sale.

I absolutely love this speaker I got it last Christmas. It is easy to operate and connect onto you phone, easy to handle and very stylish. You can personalized it whatever you want and you can choose different color as well. You can charge it using USB cord but it doesn't include any adapter for you to charge it directly in the electric plug so you have to buy it separately. The sound is very good for such a small speaker and I'm impressed with the long Bluetooth range of it! Used it outdoor in snowy new years eve and I'm very satisfied of the sound I get. So happy that this speaker is a waterproof that you can bring it anywhere you like, indoors or outdoor or even at the pool. Excellent service for the right product

Just before Christmas 2022 we wanted to buy a blue tooth speaker. We had done minimal research on it. Richer Sounds provided excellent service, allowing us to listen to the various products - even some out of our budget range. They were honest about the sound quality and explained the difference clearly within each product. There was no hard sell on which type to buy and clearly demonstrated the differences. Keep up the good work. We ended up with the JBL FLIP 5 which we are extremely happy with, worth the price we paid for it. This is a far cry from Tech Express (WH Smiths) where they were ill informed on their products and misinformed on price. Excellent sound and portablilty

"Excellent sound, portability and unity"this is my third JBL Portable. Found no need to adventure outside of this pattern of purchases as of yet and it's been 10 years of JBL portables, with the exception of 1 Bose portable *(Decently comparable tbh but JBL is more rugged) Previous two were charge variants (only difference is they can charge your devices) decided there is enough juice to go around. So I opted for this little guy. Still Not disappointed. Plus with the infinity "secret button" you can link up tons of other jbl portables to the same source input signal. Excellent sound for the money

I bought the JBL Flip 5 as an external speaker for my new Windows PC that lives in my bedroom/office as the computer's speaker was extremely disappoinitng. I have eclectic taste in music including classical, opera, Indy, jazz, world an much else besides and have a large digital music collection. I'm fussy about sound quality but I'm also tight on space so have been looking for a smallish Bluetooth player that sits nicely on my desk below my monitor, with good build quality and, most important of all, with good sound quality that belies the speakers size and price. I wasn't sure if I really wanted to pay the asking price for this product without testing, but the guy at Richer Sounds who suggested the JBL Flip 5 made it quite clear I could bring it back if I wasn't happy with my purchase, so I thought there was nothing to lose. As it turned out, I'm very happy with my purchase and would say that if your criteria for a bluetooth speaker is the same as mine, you won't be disappointed with this speaker.

Hate this Speaker

I purchased for primary use with a Windows 10 PC to reduce the number of wires in my system. When paired and connected the speaker sounds good with excellent fidelity, tone and range. I don't need or want to hear music or to listen to dialogue 100% of the time, and the speaker automatically turns off after not receiving input for a while. Then when I do want to listen to an audio track, it's necessary to "Remove" the Flip 5 from the Bluetooth menu, turn it back on and "Pair/Connect" again. The cycle repeats after every interval of silence whether I'm not listening to audio or put the computer into Sleep Mode. This is an extremely inconvenience, which virtually prevents using the speaker for my intended purposes. Why can't this feature be overridden? The reign of JBL Flip has come to an embarrassing end. The removal of listening versatility by the choice to change the long-standing two-axis symmetric speaker position to an asymmetric orientation massively reduces the sound quality and versatility. If you ever enjoyed listening to your JBL Flip speaker in "landscape mode" (with the speaker horizontal on a surface), the sound stage in this position is ruined in the JBL Flip 5 generation and on. An incredible disappointment as a past owner and avid user of JBL Flip 3 and 4 speakers - the new JBL Flip 5 generation shows a purposeful attempt to reduce the functionality of the JBL Flip line in an effort to push larger JBL portable speakers and/or multiple copies of JBL Flip 5 speakers for listening to a symmetric sound stage. These were the sole two recommendations I received from JBL Flip support *after* they improperly diagnosed my warranty request about the asymmetric speaker orientation as a defect. My JBL Flip 5 was purchased through an Amazon retailer in June 2022 and replaced directly by JBL, in error, in July 2022 via warranty (removing my ability for a retailer return).And now to be petty: With such a drastic change to the listening capability of this device, why have they forgotten to rotate the orientation of the JBL symbol to be read from the actual (vertical) speaker orientation?

Portable, long lasting charge, and good sound

Bought this a couple of weeks ago, and am very happy with it so far. It's survived being carted up and down the country, stuffed in bags, and has worked well without any issues. It is compact, reasonably lightweight, and can even be hung up somewhere thanks to the handy little strap. Set-up was minimal and easy - though the need for an app is questionable, as you can't alter the sound levels/metrics. I've used it successfully for audiobooks as well as music, and you don't get the little pause at the beginning of speech that I've experienced with many other Bluetooth speakers. It charges with a USB type C cable, but doesn't come with a wall-plug. Not an issue for me as I've already got plugs and adaptors for other electronics. Stated below are reasons indicating that unit purchased is NOT an authentic JBL product. Attached are pictures of the received unit and comparisons between AUTHENTIC JBL speaker vs. FAKE:1. The packaging does is not the same as packaging of our previous purchased JBL Flip 4 from Amazon. Packaging included a styrofoam box. The unit we received was poorly packaged with just a plastic bag and plastic container.2. The orange JBL logo on the speaker appeared to be merely stuck with a double sided adhesive. Compared to our existing 2 JBL speakers, it is easy to spot the difference and poor quality of logo in the said unit.3.
