Just bought this one for myself as a Christmas gift. It’s my 3rd instant pot. I’m obsessed with this brand! I like this one because it tells me the steps it is in for pre heating, cooking etc. they redesigned the newest model for this one and it has a pot insert with handles which i love! Also means i will need to buy an extra insert for this instant pot so i can use it more often!

The Instant Pot is a great and versatile tool with broad appeal. I personally use it to cook batch meals (e.g. dinner and a few lunches). For a single person, it is convenient to automate the cooking process and I trust the Instant Pot to cook a consistent meal with the right food prep! I've also seen the Instant Pot being used for less "utilitarian" cooking and that's the beauty of this product - it can fit into any household! This Instant Pot comes with the game changing handles on the inner pot. It makes removing a hot pot a lot easier and safer that my previous Instant Pot! No more prying the pot out with oven mitts! Also the handle locks the pot in place so it does not spin as you stir food. This Instant Pot does not have the removable power cable. It comes with an extra silicone gasket but does not include standard accessories older models came with like the spoon, paddle, measuring cup. I would consider the extra gasket to be a fair trade-off for these omissions. In short, there is no better time to start using an Instant Pot to help out around the home!

I recently upgraded from the Duo 60 to the (COstco only) SV model. When the Evo Plus was announced I decided there were enough improvements to be worth upgrading again, even though I'd only had the SV for a couple of months. Before I got the Evo Plus I was perfectly happy with my old Instant Pot. It was worth the upgrade.I can't believe that I could find the Evo Plus so much better, but I do. I really do.I love it. I love everything. I love the easier to read display. I like the fact that the id is easier to get on and is marked to show you where it goes . I like that it automatically locks. I Love the dial to choose my options and to set the timer (it's really quick to do). I love that I can see EXACTLY where it is in the process. I love the easier way of venting ... MoreI recently upgraded from the Duo 60 to the (COstco only) SV model. We bought a Duo a few years ago and since then it's become one of our most used kitchen gadgets. When I saw the Duo Evo Plus it looked even better, so I decided to upgrade. Whilst it's still a great device, I don't think it really adds anything much to the Duo.I'd hoped that the increased power would speed up the pre-heating process. Whilst there's a lot I love about the Instant Pot it's not exactly... well... instant. However, any time saving is marginal, certainly not enough to notice unless you're standing there with a stopwatch. The automatic sealing is a neat trick, but it just reverses the old problem. Instead of remembering to seal when you pressure cook, you now have to remember to take off the seal when cooking without pressure. Instead of remembering to seal when you pressure cook, you now have to remember to take off the seal when cooking without pressure. What would be really useful is a lid that chose the right setting for the program you selected. The progress indicator feels like a bit of a gimmick. The 48 pre-sets have some pretty obvious omissions (for example, somewhat bizarrely there are two broccoli pre-sets but no other veg). The steam diffuser doesn't make as much difference as I hoped. The handles are useful, but I never had a problem getting the old pot out without them. The only real benefit to me is that the pot is now induction compatible, which will save us the additional washing up we used to have from transferring to another pot to put on the hob. Not sure that's worth the extra money alone though, and of course this only applies if you have an induction hob.As I say, it's still a great device, but if someone was looking to buy their first Instant Pot, I suggest most people will get the same benefit from the basic Duo model, and I certainly don't think it will be worth the cost for most people to upgrade from the basic model.
I am not new to electric pressure cookers but I am new to Instant Pot. I have owned a 5qt, wolf gang puck PC for about 10 years now and I mainly only used it for shredding meat or cooking frozen meat quickly, and on the rare occasion, lazy ribs (when I didn't smoke them). Reason being was it's limited functionality, it was a pain to sauté because there was no such function, you just had to pick one of five options (rice, meat, vegetables, stew, or soup) and go with that, but once it came to temp the count down for pressure cooking began and the heat would go down... IDK, it's horrible compared to this.... I hesitated and stomped my feet on getting an IP for a long time ("I don't need that, I already have one"..), I don't know what I was waiting for... I received it ... MoreI am not new to electric pressure cookers but I am new to Instant Pot. I received it last night and carefully planned my first meal to cook, I settled on meatloaf, mashed potatoes and green beans with tomatoes. Oh boy, it felt like and early Thanksgiving! Everything came out so wonderful, I am most definitely in love, and cannot wait to make my own yogurts and cheeses in this!!! I think my top three favorite features of this are 1. The preheat/cook status' - you know where the cooker is at which is always nice. 2. The steam disbursement (control regulator do-hickey) when doing a quick release, no need for a towel! 3. Ability to customize your own cook time (I didnt have that before - was very limited)
I bought this pot primarily in preparation for the inevitable second lockdown. It's fantastic for pressure cooking dried beans - even without soaking you can get good results in less than an hour. It also works well as a spare hob with the saute function.Although the pressurised cook times are faster than boiling, you still need to factor in the preheat (which can take several minutes depending on how much you have in the pot) and the depressurisation period. For some recipes this can last over 20 minutes if using the quick vent isn't recommended. For foods that don't expand or splutter, the quick vent works well and shortens the depressurisation time considerably. The included stainless steel pot feels high quality and the handles are a great addition for safely ... MoreI bought this pot primarily in preparation for the inevitable second lockdown. The screen is large - perfect for seeing the status of your food from down the hall, and also ideal for people with visual impairment.Overall, I'm happy with the purchase, but it isn't quite the instant cooking solution it's marketed as - you still need to pre plan appropriately.
Mum's know best....... that's what my mum said. Well she was correct when I told her I had bought an Instant Pot cooker. This is so easy to use, and there are so many websites, youtubes and other site for recipes to try. Everything from Risotto, Coq au Vin to curry's come out perfectly in the Instant Pot.I have now started converting my own recipes into Instant Pot recipes, all with complete success.Using the various preset functions make it so easy. I made soup the other day, just perfect homemade soup in a few minutes.Enables you to get cheaper cuts of meat and cook them to perfection, succulent tasty meals.I convert most recipes down to a two serving size. I was worried about the size of this as it states it's good for family sized meals. But I have had no issues ... MoreMum's know best....... that's what my mum said. I am a first time Instant Pot user. I was skeptical and a little nervous remembering the pressure cookers of my mother's days. So my pot arrived and sat in the box for about a week before I forced myself to say "Today is the day". I purchased a cookbook for Instant Pots and found a recipe. Oh boy!........did I surprise my husband with a penne bolognese that was to die for! I was thrilled at the ease of the Instant Pot and how it made me appear like I was a Top Chef champion! Clean up was a breeze! I was out of the kitchen in record time. I did refer to the internet as well as the instruction booklet and felt totally confident that I wouldn't have the lid shoot up into the kitchen ceiling. Looking back on my experience I wish I had gotten one of these little babies ... MoreI am a first time Instant Pot user. Looking back on my experience I wish I had gotten one of these little babies sooner! Needless to say my husband was impressed as well. So this morning I walked into the kitchen to find the instruction booklet back out and he was playing with making poached eggs for breakfast! He raved over how perfect his eggs came out and the ease at which he was able to make them. Again clean up was swift and easy. I can't wait to experiment with more recipes! I did order the baking set and a basket and so glad I did. My daughter will be inheriting my rice pot and crock pot and I will have much more room in my cabinet! Win Win for everyone!!
This has very quickly become one of my all-time favourite kitchen gadgets, alongside my Kenwood Chef, toastie maker, and â€" of course â€" the kettle. It's easily the most versatile kitchen device I own (even allowing for the Chef's system of attachments), and has easily established itself as one of the most frequently used. This is in use most days of the week. I'd been a little uncertain before buying it â€" and debated quite a lot between various models. I'm glad I opted for the 6l Duo Evo Plus, as the handles make the liner pot really easy to lift out, and though sizeable it doesn't completely dominate my kitchen. I bought the 8L Duo Evo for my brother for Christmas (his family includes three kids, and they like to batch cook) and that was huge. I bought the 8L Duo Evo for my brother for Christmas (his family includes three kids, and they like to batch cook) and that was huge. For the 4 of us, including my retired parents, the 6L version is a good size. The Instant Pot isn't just easy to use pressure cooking, slow cooking, rice cooking, stew making, saute'ing, steaming, and yogurt making. The pressure cooking function is very simple and makes short work of typically slow-cook items such as lamb neck, brisket, beef skirt, stewing steak, pork ribs (for grilling afterwards), pork belly, and pig's trotters stock (for the jelly to go in home-made pork pie). Slow-cook stews and casseroles can be expedited via the pressure cooker… or not, via the slow cooker. Making my own yogurt has been a bit more experimental with timing needing adjustment â€" early versions were a bit thin, but when strained through a cheesecloth yielded both a decent runny yogurt and a palatable yogurt drink. More recent attempts, run for longer, have yielded a decent, thick, Greek-style yogurt and a whey by-product that's usable in bread-making.I've bought an additional liner insert for it (yogurt making in particular is very time consuming, and sometimes I want to shift a batch out mid-process to use one of the other functions), and a set of third party tools including baking trays. So far, everything I've made in this tastes good, unlike my old slow cooker which made things taste rather burned. It's not a small gadget, but it's such a versatile all-in-one that it well justifies the space it occupies.
I needed a pressure cooker and the Instant pot was very highly rated so I picked this one with a nice bright screen. Purchased an 8QT and 6QT not knowing which one is the best size for us. The screen of the 8 was much brighter and more clear than the 6 but unfortunately, the 8 was too big and we decided to keep the 6. We did the water test and this thing leaked all over the counter But we thought that we did something wrong and cooked stew in it that night and used the slow cooker, our food was completely burned and we did not get any errors that the instant pot keep saying they added to EVO PLUS. we also keep getting an error PR SE when we use a keep warm option and when it's on vent, the error means too much pressure, how is that possible if it's on vent and I can ... MoreI needed a pressure cooker and the Instant pot was very highly rated so I picked this one with a nice bright screen. We emailed INSTANT POT and they keep asking us to make a video of the leakage and send pictures I have sent more than 10 emails with all the pictures and videos and they keep asking me to make more videos and they refuse to accept that our INSTANT POT is damaged right out of the box. I wanted to avoid returning it to the store and deal with the company instead but I'm so sorry WILLIAMS SONOMA but I have to return this and buy another brand with better customer service like Breville. the photos I will add are after I cleaned up the water a bit but this is after the water test which is only 3 min or so and as you can see the water collector on the back of the instant pot is almost full and I have water leaking out from where the handles are.
